“Taproom is great, well ventilated inside, and a cute deck outside. Many taps on, a well run retail space. Almost everything 4 oz. to try.“

“Like a prison with fenced in cement deck after passing checkpoints. Beer is fair at best. Good luck finding a table away from the weed.A stop on the way to Equilibrium and a decent other bar and coffee place.“

“A fantastic brewery. They had a great selection of beers on tap - heavy on the IPAs and sours with some great high gravity imperial pastry stouts too - my comfort zone! Their beer is really amazing. Not a bad one in the batch, They don't really do flights - you just order 4 or 8 oz pours. They also have food, which is quite good - barbeque and bar food. The taproom is in a really cool octagon shaped buidling with a bar in teh middle and seating around as well as outside seating. They have a small gift shop and bottles/cans to go. An amazing berwery that every serious beer traveler should visit at some point.“

“This was a large hopping place. For us it was nice, but just average beer, so we left after one. With equilibrium nearby it is hard to imagine coming back if beer is the main goal.“

“The equilibrium Tap Room blew us away. Great selection, too much to choose from. Super knowledgeable friendly helpful staff, helped us get exactly what we love the most. Staff seemed sad (genuinely) that we were leaving, and got directions for a hike from a nearby patron. And the beer is phenomenal!“

“Located at the end of a strip mall, but the interior definitely has a nice neighborhood bar vibe. Food was solid but the best thing was the beer selection. They had a couple of things you don't typically see in this part of the country like Hill Farmstead or Burial out of Asheville. I'd definitely go back again if I'm in the area.“

“Visit Date: 10/7/17
Came by here right after Equilibrium, and by the time we arrived the sun was out and it had become a beautiful day. Walk into the bar area, which was fairly full without seats available at either the bar or the bar tables. For some reason, despite the great weather, the giant beer garten area out back was completely empty, and the bar out back was not up and running either. Very strange for a nice fall weekend day. We got our beers inside and then went out back to enjoy the weather. The beers were all on the okay side, not terrible, not good. Service was a little poorly run, but not terrible. Nice looking place, but I'd probably only come by if already in the area on a day with great weather and I was looking for a place to enjoy a beer outside. The beer won't bring you back or bring you out of the way on it's own. “

“In a little after 12:30 on a Sunday in late May. Fairly empty, and having just opened a half hour earlier, that’s understandable. Brewery sectioned off behind glass walls as you walk in, looks like maybe a 3 barrel with a mix of 3 and 7 barrel fermenters. I should also note that it was relatively empty inside, but there were some patrons outside in the lovely beer garden, which looks like it holds quite a few people, tables, benches, umbrellas. Nice place to be. Inside was well spaced with lots of seating for the space, likely accommodating close to 50 in the main room counting the bar seating. Didn’t get any food while I was here, so no real comments on the food, but the menu did look pretty nice. They have a full bar with some cocktail specials, so certainly a place that might have appeal to more than just beer drinkers. Service was quick and quite friendly. Looks like they usually have about 10-12 of their own beers on, and one tap was a local cider. Got through all of them in a pair of flights with samples. The beers mostly feel like they’re out of a brewpub from 15 years ago, even though this place was founded in 2012 (and likely opened a couple years later than that). Many beers were flat and thin, and a few that were just unpleasant (think old school artificial fruit flavored wheats), Not sure if I would go to Middletown specifically to visit this place. But if you’re in the area already (I could see Equilibrium becoming a destination brewery for the surrounding area), it might be worth checking out if you want quick ticks, but would not be high on my list.“

“Dive Bar to end all Dive Bars. With four taps serving the best of the best domestics, sir! Michelob, PBR (empty), Bud Light and Coors. The sign says Rolling Rock on Tap, but it was nowhere to be seen. Bottle selection is the same, with Landshark and one small addition, SA Boston Lager. They have daily recession themed deals such as "Welfare Wednesdays, $1 Draft Pints from 9 to 11." Even still, $3 bottles is a daily deal. This should be a happening place, taking back the respectable Middletown clientele. Hell, they even have a sign outside stating so. You walk into a typical dimly lit bar, which stinks of days of old. This was probably the best bar for miles around....back in the late 70’s and 80’s. There is a pool table in a back room which feels like an 80’s dream. The bar feels rundown, with a non working ATM, abandoned second bar, broken chairs with rips and tears, and about 200 empty bottles of Jameson about. The bartender actually disappeared and left the bar open for about 20 minutes. I saw one of the patrons enter behind the bar and pour their own and leave cash by the register. To their credit, there is another sign stating, "Our Service is supposed to stink, so shut up and drink." I imagine the only time this bar is partly busy is on a Friday or Saturday night. In a town where Chains are kings (I’m not joking, if you can think of a chain restaurant, it is in this town) this bar feels like the long lost cousin you haven’t seen since you were 9.“

“I have now been to Old Erie a few times. Not surprised it wasn’t on RB since it is in Middletown, NY. First off, the name is misleading since it is NOT a Brewpub. They don’t even offer local micros. They offer AB, Coors and Sam Adams BL, and Seasonal. As far as beer goes, they have a very small selection. The service was fast and friendly, and above average. Prices were very fair. As for the food...there is no better place to eat in the area. The food is simply OUTSTANDING. Serving up pastas and traditional Italian fare, as well as some burgers, quesadillas and other pub fare. The building is split between the dining area and the bar. Lots of light oak about. The bar is long with about 15 - 20 chairs. If you are in the area, skip all the chains around and come to Destefanos.“

“This place smells awful and The owner is very unfriendly, Even though there is a pretty decent selection, The place has a lot of Micros, Dogfish Head, Sierra Nevada, Rogue, etc. The two big downfalls is most of the beer is old or expired, I was in there this month and saw some micros with best by dates in 2009, which is completely unacceptable, I have even found Macros with a best by date over 6 months expired, so I tend to avoid this place, The 2nd thing is talk about stingy if your change is 77 cent you will be getting 75, He’s done this to me several times and for this reason, I have decided to avoid this place. Especially with the local Shoprite which now has a craft beer section. Very bad business.“

“For the area this place really is great. Not much else around. Also they prices are pretty good compared to the closest place. Usually can find, Sierra Nevada, Brookyn, Rogue, Lagunitas, Sixpoint, Long Trail, Troegs, Oscar Blues and more. The owners would love to sell more and would order something for you if you ask. Some things sit around here for a while and you may need to wipe off the dist and check dates. They have some in refrigerators and some on the shelves. You can also get cases of stuff and all the macros you could ever want.“

“Well I live about 25 minutes from here so I stop in once in a while. Pretty good selection for the area. Lots of sixers. Everything from Dogfish, Victory, Ommegang 750’s, Southern Tier, Allagash and others. Very wide range. They also have five taps to fill growlers and it seems it EDIT does not change at all. Last time I was in they had Brooklyn Monster, Southern Tier IPA, Grolsch, Ithaca Caskazilla and something else. Now have Otter Creek winter and Sam White. Not bad prices for the most part and a friendly staff. Nice to have something local. Two months ago I posted and today I called and they have the same Monster that when I tasted it two months ago was bad. Wish they would get better beer on tap and I wish it would change. There are some people stuck here who actually dig good beer and not AB craft brews.“
