64 /100 175 MAIN STREET I was here around dinner, and pretty full, lots of college crowd. Decent beer, not a huge amount of choices of theirs, augmented by a few guest taps. Decent menu I had soup of the day, pretty good. Attentive staff and could answer questions about the beer. Worth a stop. |
66 /100 Hometown Deli and Grocery (Grocery Store) 61 SPRUCE ST Worth a stop if you’re in this part of the world. A home converted to a deli. A deli converted to a craft beer place. This is a small place, but the dedicate at least half of their place to craft beer. Nice selection overall. Busy, but clean, organized. Friendly staff. Relatively hard to find stuff, with standards, and locals. Reasonable prices, not outstanding. Decent overall. Nice sandwiches. |
74 /100 Hometown Deli and Grocery (Grocery Store) 61 SPRUCE ST Traveling through Oneonta, I needed a pit stop. Checked ratebeer and found this place. Figured why not, extremely easy to get to from the highway. There wasn’t much parking but hey for what it’s worth, and the size of the town, I’d say when in Oneonta this is where you go for bottles. The two people that were there seemed pretty knowledgeable and I even got my KBS a dollar cheaper than in PA, how about that. I also bought a tuna fish sandwich for lunch and that was pretty good. The selection was better than I thought there. Lotsa New York flavors and then ranging into New England and Mid Atlantic breweries. I’d go back here when in Oneonta. |
72 /100 My Father’s Place (Bar) 5690 STATE HWY 7 Visited: 3-23-11
The place is kind of hard to find and is located inside of a hotel. They carry 9 beers on tap and have about 30 bottles to choose from. The taps consist about half of local fare (ommegang and ithaca) and the remainder are from around the country. The bottle selection was geared more towards the average beer drinker but has about a dozen decent beers. This place is the best beer bar in Oneonta but the competition doesn’t set the bar very high. The prices were decent and I was able to get a limited release Ommegang beer that was just released. |
68 /100 Hometown Deli and Grocery (Grocery Store) 61 SPRUCE ST It’s a convenience store that’s buiilt into the side of the house. That sort of thing seems to happen a lot in this art of the country. It’s not a large place and the feel is typical c-store. They don’t have a ton of beer but what they do have takes up one side of the farthest right aisle. They also have some sixers and Bombers in the cooler. 70 kinds is probably an accurate count but it’s mostly craft and, in fairness, they don’t have a ton of room to expand. Two different people waited on me which is Great in normal circumstances, unheard of in a c-store. They seemed to take good care of the beer. Nothing seemed dusty or by its sell-by date. It’s not a destination place but you could do much, much worse for a local. |
78 /100 Hometown Deli and Grocery (Grocery Store) 61 SPRUCE ST For Oneonta, Its the best craft brew selection around. One of the best subs you will ever eat.. and the People are real nice.. I go every time i need a good brew. |
70 /100 Hometown Deli and Grocery (Grocery Store) 61 SPRUCE ST a great little store with a pretty good craft beer selection. Constantly changing, but you can always find some staples like Stone, Dogfish Head and Victory |
