“Visited on a weekday afternoon. A small beer bar with an enticing food menu and 16 taps at Ridgewood. Only 7 of the taps were in full when I visited, but I found 3 new ticks. The prices are NYC normal. The marble bar inside occupies about half the available space. There are also two community tables and a couple of small library-style tables. Board games and free wifi available. There are also beer flights. Nice place for the neighborhood.“

“Visited in April 2024. Long narrow bar in Astoria with a back garden. 20 beers on tap, full bar. No food, no frills, flights available. A local place indeed. A few ticks available, and it's cheaper than Manhattan.“

“Great burgers available here and a good beer selection. Unfortunately, beers only served in 1 size so points off. Recommend visiting the toilets for the...unusual...Titanic experience.“

“Big space in Queens with a reasonable number of beers on tap; we happened to be there on Jazz and pop up pizza night. (definitely recommend Traze pizza, particularly the Falafel and French onion pizzas) Some bottles/cans available for drink in and takeaway also.“

“Interesting mix of deli, bar and bottle shop. A good selection of beers on tap at typical NYC prices as well as an extensive bottle range. Fantastic selection of cheeses for takeaway, but I also recommend getting a cheese board to accompany your drinks.“

“I had never visited this place while it was still Astoria Bier & Cheese - Ditmars. It's now called The Bier and Cheese Collective. The basic format is the same as most beer stores: long marble low bar with chairs, 12 beers on tap, numerous fridges with a few hundred cans and bottles, well-curated selection of charcuterie, and small menu of food which is usually quite sophisticated. Great place.“

“Big industrial space in a pretty industrial part of Queens. Fair range of styles, flights available. Beers are pretty variable in quality, but probably skew more towards terrible. Probably not worth the quite long journey, but if you're in the area...“

“Quite a large sports bar with ample space outside. A central bar with an abundance of TV screens around, streaming sports, soft music, good local craft beer selection. I did not try the food, but the menu was interesting. A good place to visit in Astoria-Ditmars, near the last stop of the N train.“

“Stop #8 on our 8 stop NYC beer trip. Dingy small hole in the wall feeling. As soon as we walked in, it felt like it was 100 degrees inside. So hot that I tasted my buddies sampler and had to go sit outside. Average to below average beer, but that heat ...“

“Stop #7 on our 8 stop NYC beer trip. Nice open and huge place. They only had 1 of their beers on tap ... something about going through renovations, but didn't look like it. Avoid this place at all costs if you want to drink beers ... only other things on their menu were cans from Southern Tier ...“

“Stop #6 on our 8 stop NYC day trip. Had to hit here, this has been on our list for awhile and as much as we mail order from here, it was nice to get here in person. Beers were, well Evil Twin goodness. Poutine was quick and good dinking food, but I would say served a little too cold. And the did do one of my pet peeves, handed me a printed beer menu which I ordered off of and was told it was not up to date and look at the wall ... THEN DON'T HAND ME A MENU OR TELL ME WHAT WAS OUT WHEN YOU DO...I hate to say it, but points off for that as that really irks me.“

“Stop #4 on our 8 stop day trip to NYC. Decent amount of beers on tap if not average to slightly below average and varying styles. We ran the board and had a 11 beer sampler we split. Stopped by on a Sunday and wasn't busy, but looked small and I can see how it can get crowded.“

“Stop #1 on a 8 stop day trip. Nice that they opened at 11am on a Sunday. Beers average to a few above. No samplers but 1/2 pours available. No food, but attached to a taco place that had some kicking tacos.“

“Big, high ceilinged space. This is an unpretentious place for hanging out and having fun and drinking a couple of inexpensive beers. This is not one of those craft beer bars with a cicerone on staff and shockingly priced pours of rare, barrel aged ales. It is just a fun place to drop in for a beer. The selection is limited; QB seems to have no more than 2-3 of their beers on tap at any given moment.“

“After reading Slipstream's review I decided to visit the place, going for a protracted lunch break. First thing first, it's not a beer destination. Yes, they have 14 beers on tap with 3-4 local brews, but you need to be quite low in the totem pole of raters to be able to extract a couple of ratings from it. But then it's a quite nice Irish pub, with a Bonnie Lassie, tasteful food, etc. Since it's between a cemetery and car repair shops, I don't presume you can visit the place while being around, unless you need to kill a few hours while your car is being fixed. So if you're going to take a conscious attempt to go there, just know that you won't find anything new there.“

“Quiet a belated review dating back to 2020. Small taproom with a large beer garden, 14 beers on tap, no food available. The inside was not too large, with space for 5-6 tables. They had beers not available elsewhere, which made the visit more interesting.“

“Small beer and wine bar at a side street in Astoria. They had 7 beers on tap and 20-30 cans available. There was a small but interesting food menu. Eclectic decoration with continuous movies projection on one of the walls. Room for about three tables, a lot of bar stools inside, and a beer garden at the back. Interesting find.“

“A huge space that is apparently used for all sorts of events. Only like five taps active on my visit, several of which were guest beers (although not marked as such). The one beer of theirs I did successfully order was horrific. Barely a craft beer location.“

“Small, eclectically filled and quite cramp. Limited outdoor seating as well on my visit. Flights available. Beers are not the best in NYC, but the variety of styles is pretty fun. Staff friendly. Probably not worth the trip alone, but easily combined with Evil Twin NYC.“

“This place is awesome! This is the only place I go to for my specialty cheeses. There's none other like it in the area, and I just love their assortment too. It looks to be a cute spot for 2 people to grab drinks, and the bites of food they make on site smell amazing every time I stop in. I'll have to come back for a grilled cheese and soup soon. I've found everyone here quite helpful and friendly whenever I've asked a question!“

“Large space in an unassuming residential neighborhood. Beer quality is obviously excellent, especially stouts and IPAs. Bit less cool of a space than their newer Brooklyn location, with the majority of decoratiion being the walls of barrels. Small pours available. Very glad to have finally made it to their original location, but will likely stick to the Brooklyn location since I can walk there...“

Euro Market (Grocery Store)

“Reasonable size supermarket jam packed with European foods. Outstanding range of sausage. Beer selection is huge, including a large craft selection and lots of European (and miscellaneous) imports. It is pretty clear that they do not store beer properly, so I would recommend steering clear of the craft selection, or in fact anything that you care about enjoying. However, if you want to tick Eastern European countries badly enough to drink very out of date light struck lagers, then this is the place to go (I got seven new countries, don't judge me).“

“Unassuming building in a fairly residential area, the (fairly long) walk from the subway does not feel like it has a brewery at the end. Beers are generally good. Hard to combine with other places due to its location, but certainly worth a visit.“

“Strange little place on the Bushwick/Ridgewood border. Basically, it is a small all-glass building surrounded by a larger outdoor space. The brewery itself is located in the adjoining warehouse. The beer selection is pretty expansive and often includes over-priced guest taps from the like of Monkish and Moksa. The menus are really annoying looking and difficult to read, but once you get past it is fine. Outside, there is usually some food truck, so you can bring in food. Small pours are available, but can be a bit pricy, especially for the pastry stouts and the like. Beer to go is also available in 4 packs. Good beer. Ambiance is weird.“

“I love this place and love this space...especially the trusses. Great to arrive by the nearby "L" line.(Halsey St. Station). Great big communal tables to drink and converse at. Coffee bar upfront with window service (hard to find that for craftbeer though...lol!). There are 16 taps although less pouring the couple of times I visited. I had some amazing knockwurst and sauerkraut. The beers are good...but need to get better and more variety...nonetheless...I really like this place and recommend it highly.“

“Beautiful taproom, except for the garish neon signs for beer names. Beers are good, 4oz pours are available if you ask, they're not advertised. Selection is excellent, with a few lagers, several IPAs, a few sours and stouts etc. Two guest taps on my second visit (Trillium & Horus), zero on my first. My guess is it was to do with the 12 Beers of Christmas thing, rather than something normal. Beers are good. Place is good. Service is a tad slow, but very friendly. Definitely one of the better taprooms to visit (except for those bloody signs).“

“Finally visited the taproom on 12/16/19. Greenhouse like structure in the backyard of the brewery with a large patio with long tables outside. They have 20 beers on tap, with one guest beer, A few snacks are available. They also serve coffee from a separate counter. Communal and smaller single tables to sit and enjoy the beer. Sadly, they don't serve flights but have two pour sizes: expensive and more expensive! Must visit.“

“Stopped by for a beer at this large and spacious brewpub with a fairly hip industrial/warehouse atmosphere. There was some event going on and the place was packed, so we only stayed for one beer. Tap list looked promising and I would have liked to return at a more quiet moment, but didn't get around to it.“

“I don't know why RB does not have a category for pub - a place where both beer and food have equal importance and is a neighborhood gathering place in addition. Well this is a spacious Irish-American pub on an out of the way corner of LIC/Queens, and here you can find some hearty food and a number of good brews. They host brewing events here as well.“

“We came here on 26.10.2019. 30 minutes subway trip from Time Square + 10 minutes walking. Brewery is in the back and hardly visible. A D.J. was playing vinyl records in the pub - very cool. Two screens were showing horror movies (Evil Dead) due to Halloween. A band was preparing to play on the balcony. We drank Hop Ales, Weird + Gillie and Half Stack (was our favorite). All were great beers!!! The Can logos are very quaint too. Definitely a place you should not miss during a NYC visit.“

“Visited on 9/2/19. Right next to the the old station on the bridge at Forest Hills, larger than it looks from the outside. 16 beers on tap, full service bar, grill food menu, long metal top bar, largish seating area. Attractive decoration, not too noisy despite being full. Good location.“

BKLYN Beer Garden (Restaurant)
JOHN F KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, TERMINAL 2
“Pretty big bar in Terminal 2. Kinda dirty, with the standard airport bar vibe. Each seat has a tablet which is used for ordering and annoying the patrons. This cuts down on human interaction to a bare minimum, and even that (getting seated and having my beer delivered) was abrasive and unfortunate. Once you actually settle in, the tablet serves to blast you with unwanted advertising. Pretty awful selection, even for an airport bar. The large number of taps is choked with macro lagers. The prices are appalling, even for an airport. $11 for most pints, which seems egregious to me. I didn't have any food, but it looked like standard bar fare, poorly done. I got my NY place tick, but it was annoying and unfortunate. Would not recommend at all, even if you're in Terminal 2 by chance.“
