“A five minute walk (on sidewalks, a rarity in North Carolina) from Bayou Smokehouse, and you can park at either place. I suppose you could also park at the police station next to the brewery. Medium sized bar and some bar tables, plus two tables outside facing the lovely parking lot and aforementioned cop hive. View into the brewhouse is through glass. Flights of four for eight bucks, or half or full pints. Beers are tasty, about half are German styles, since they apparently have actual Germans in this town for some reason, and even some Austrians, Food is tiny bags of peanuts and similar. Very friendly server and even friendlier clientele. Worth a look.“

“Small parking lot. You can enter through the store or come in the back way onto the patio they sahre with nearby restaurants. Either way, the patio and deck is the place to be on a nice day, under the big oak tree. In bad weather the inside U-shaped bar is very nice, and it's surrounding by booths and interesting bar tables, plus some games. Beer list is decent enough, a dozen or so local stuff, plus three from Abita to keep up with the Cajun theme of the place. There's a Texas theme too, and you can choose food from either cuisine. Service is from friendly college students. Food is OK, very filling, sadly not nearly as spicy as advertised. Worth a stop if you're in the town anyway.“

“Since you have to enter the store to get to the restaurant, this was an easy two-fer rate. The store actually has les of a beer selection than the bar or restaurant, just one or two local items, some larger brewery sort-of-craft (think New Belgium etc) and a couple of Belgian and German beers. You can buy any bottle of wine and open it in the restaurant without a corkage fee, so maybe you can do the same with beer - but with NC's weird alcohol laws I wouldn't count on it.“

“I went on a soft opening night. It has a bar and some indoor seating. The place was very crowded while I was there. You can look into where they brew the beer from the bar. The service was amazing. The bartenders both knew beer and were extremely friendly with giving out samples. They recommended other places to visit in the area and made the experience there terrific. They had 6 beers on tap and the favorite among the group was the Brown Ale. They had some snacks out for people to eat while drinking. $4 for a 16oz pour. A good small brewery in a small town.“

“Attached to the Bayou General Store. They have about 12 taps of which most are American craft brews though nothing crazy exciting save some rarer stuff like Hickory Stick Stout. Pretty decent Cajun food. Very fresh local, organically raised trout. Worth a pop in especially if you are going to buy beer at the General Store. The big negative is the smoking which seems to be pretty heavy.“

“Decent selection of NC and other American crafts. You can buy singles which is pretty nice as most places around here don’t do that. It is attached to the restaruant which has a few decent taps. They also had 5L mini-kegs of Hickory beers which is pretty cool. The best place to beer shop in Banner Elk for sure.“
