“Small place in downtown Bryson City just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They have a downstairs bar and a nice outside seating area on the second floor overlooking the river. A nice spot for a beer after a hike in the Smokies. The beer was ok, nothing really great. Decent selection of mostly average beers.“

“I've had plenty of beers from Nantahala over the years. They excel at certain things. This is the first time I've visited since they actually opened the full taproom. It's been years. Great job on the interior. It's spacious and has a stage for live music and some swag in the corner. The bar is huge too. Excellent service from the bartender. Prices are low.“

“I visited this place on July 3rd. They had a good selection on tap. There was a food place next to the tap room for people who wanted to eat.“

“I had a hell of a time getting here, but Bryson City was easy enough to navigate once I managed to get there. Located in a building with a few businesses with a parking lot on the side. It looks like it could get crowded. Lots of raw wood in a very large open space. Long bar. Very comfortable. Lots of beers on tap with a couple Trail Magic bottles to go. The beers were all solid with a few standouts. Nice staff and I had a lengthy conversation with one of them, which was cool. Prices can get pricy on samples. Overall, I’m glad I made the trek.“

“Nice place with a winter bar area that is much smaller than the regular bar. Very nice selection service was good. This is a must go to when coming through this area. Always remember you can bring food into the brewery and eat. If you go next door the selection of beer is not as good and the beer is higher. Not my last time here.“

“I think this was my favorite place I went on my trip to Asheville. Great little place in the middle of nowhere. Laid back place with quite a few of their own brews on tap. No AC, but good air flow. And a huge version of Jenga that’s really awesome to watch.“

“Reviewing from notes 12/22/2011 - Newer building. The tap room is a good size, plenty of room to expand and add tables later, as it’s just a bar at this point. Lots of wood, bar is modeled on the front of a fishing shack with the brewing equipment visible through the large picture windows of the "shack". The room is like the courtyard between other shacks with a running balcony between buildings. Bluegrass plays as gentle background noise. The taps are your typical standards with a couple nice seasonals and solid craft guess taps. They could handle 18 taps, though they had only 15 available when we visited. The bartender was attentive w/o hovering. They have tasters, 8 oz, 16 oz, 20 oz, pitchers, and growlers. Prices are very reasonable, with a pint for $4.“

“This could be the worst place listed in the database. It’s a BMC emporium with 1-2 crafts with serious age issues. The fridges kind of work and if you told me that their Friday Night special is free typhus with every six pack I would believe you. Only send your worst enemies or your mother-in-law here.“

“Not sure why this place is in the database. The beer selection is what you’d typically find in a convenience store or a Kroger’s. Practically the only large bottles are 40s. They have no pick 6 section. You’re better off driving to Sylva to hit up PJ’s.“

“Not the best selection for an NC grocery store and really sad when compared against grocery stores nationally. They have some common national craft (sierra nevada, oskar blues) and common local and regional craft ( highland, rj rockers, and natty green). They have no pick six section and most of their craft stock is in sixes.“

“Seriously why is this place in here, it's a total dive. I wouldn't trust that anything purchased here was 1) fresh 2) not contaminated with animal or insect "waste products" 3) stored at a reasonable temp. While they do have some regional and national craft product, They have a good portion of it stuck in a corner behind the fridges that don't stay closed blocked by the sixers on the floor so you can't get to any of it. I pity the life-sized cutout of Snoop Dogg that has to be subjected to these conditions.“

“stopped in 7/13/11. i love the simplicity of this place... re-purposed industrial building.... lots of wood and concrete....but comfortable. they had only 5 beers on tap...but they were all good. service was super friendly and willing to chat. i love the $5 membership to join as they are in a dry county!“

“Seasonal Belgian Dirty Girl Golden Ale was really good but the Trail Magic Russian stout was amazing! This is a cool place to hang out after a day on the trail“

“The fact that there’s a place this awesome in a town as small as Bryson City says the craft beer movement is going in the right direction. The intereior made it seem like we were at an outdoor bar set in a tropical resort. They had 10 things on tap with the top beers being the pale ales and the Sticky dog stout. I was surprised how many people were there on a Thursday before Christmas. I can’t wait to stop here again.“

“Yet another interestingly rejuvenated location for an American brewery … an old Quonset hut apartment/industrial space in a weird little town. Nice beers, friendly staff, huge TV. I could hang here. (#557)“

“Really cool brewpub in the middle of Bryson City. If you are in this area for vacation, be sure to go here. Not really sure what to give all these ratings...selection? I mean, they have their own beers on tap...The staff is super friendly. There are games you can play. It is a huge open warehouse. Really cool interesting place to drop in and drink several pints.. Will pour growlers too.“

“Don’t let the appearance fool you. The place looks like a dump from the outside. Actually, it looks more like a metal shop would be inside than a bar. The beer selection is fine, however, and if you’re looking for Bryson City’s hometown beer, this place can’t be beat. In fact, you’ve got to dig a place that will pull out a jockey box (temporary tap with a cooling system inside a picnic cooler for the beer) just so they can have Nantahala Brewing Co.’s fourth beer on tap when they have only 3 taps normally. By the way, there’s a reason the jumbo hotdog costs so much. The thing is like four normal hotdogs inside one casing. Ridiculously large.“

“Across the Trax is a bar/restaurant located in downtown Bryson City right by the train. It looks like it’s in a big hangar. The inside is very typical rural bar. Wide open lay out, neon beer signs, old wooden furnishings. Seems like what would be a tired old hang out with a shitty beer selection at first glance, but of course this is Western NC so it ends up being a good stop. The service was efficient and very friendly. The first surprise is the menu. It’s mostly standard bar food, but a few things stand out such as the greek salad and trout plate. Greek salad was fantastic. The next surprise is the beer list. It begins terribly with the standard crap, but slowly becomes interesting with offerings from Bells, Highland, Mother Earth, etc. But the real reason for a beer enthusiast to stop here is the fact that they carry more beers from Nantahala Brewing than anyone else. Four were on tap and I was very pleasantly surprised with the IPA. There is a game room with a few pool tables and most importantly, a Capcom arcade machine with Street Fighter II.“
