“Kind looks like an old store front. Big windows in from, side patio area. Nothing fancy. Kind of beach shak look. Large curved bars dozen seats, 8 tables that sit four or six people. 8 beers on tap. Ok variety kind of all in the pale ale areas. Did have a smoked ale. No house food, but had some grab and go food from the veggie wagon. Chips, hummus, salsa, good prices, 3 to 5 dlollars. Depending on abc, fun place ok beer“

“Great food, limited selection of taps but everything they had on tap was good. Stone IPA, Allagash White, etc. Food is awesome; get the mahi tacos. Place is huge, and the parking is somewhat confusing; it is across the street. No big deal, but just threw me for a loop the first time. This place is not a cheap place though. For me, wife, and 2 kids who split a sandwich, and a beer each, total was around $55.“

“Small store - they do not have 50 bottles, but the real reason to go here is for the growlers. They have 10 taps, all local. They have 16oz, 32 oz, and 64 oz bottles. The home made ice cream sandwiches are wonderful too. Dont miss this place if you go to carolina beach.“

“Fair selection but this place is out of the world expensive. I bought a six pack of stone go to ipa and it was $16.32. What the fuck? I will never go back here. Food lion has almost as many beers.“

“Small organic food market that specializes in local produce and home made foods. Their breads and selections of sauces/salsas are top notch. Sells a good selection of wines, mixed local 6 packs. Where they shine is their growler program with 10 growler fill stations specializing in local beers, specialty beers and experimentals from local breweries. Well worth the visit“

“Well worth stopping in just for the atmosphere--very small building that looks like what it probably once was: a small grocery store from the 1930s or 40s, Emphasis is on local and regional products, with a quite small but good selection of mostly regional brews. A good place to pick up a mixed 6 pack, which I did. They might have had some bombers as well. Good buys on produce from local growers as well as more pricy stuff like gourmet coffee. Beer and wine tastings held regularly“

“Was really impressed by the huge selection of beer including craft beer and imports. Definetely the BEST beer selection on the island and also bought a really sweet tshirt from there too! They had a whole cooler door just for NC beers which is beyond awesome. My friends and I Love Brew Thru!!!!“

“I just happened this small fresh-produce market looking for some quality groceries and discovered they have the best beer selection on the island. They carry mainly NC beer, but with a few others that equates to about 50 mostly quality options. Everything is in a cooler and is all available at $10.99 build-your-own-6-pack. That can be quite a bargain depending on what you choose. I picked up some Duck Rabbator and fresh cans of Modus Hoperandi.“

“This was a fantastic find. On our first day in Carolina Beach we merely wanted some tasty seafood and happened on far and away the best tap selection in the little beach town. It’s nothing amazing, but is certainly unmatched until you get into Wilmington. Inside at the bar they rotate 3 taps and have one swill tap. Outside at the Tiki bar are four different rotating craft taps. Founders, Lone Rider, Mother Earth, Sweet Water, Weeping Radish were all represented at one time during our stay. All the food I ate was absolutely excellent. The vibe is fun and lively at the tiki bar and more chill inside at the bar. Decor inside is clean and classy. This is a must stop in Carolina Beach.“

“This place is crazy. I mean it’s just bonkers. There is random nonsensical decor stuffed into every crevice of the property, which somehow gives it a very beachy vibe. We weathered hurricane Irene having a tasty beer and sitting on one of the couches in here. The way the Fat Pelican works is you go into a large walk-in cooler, get your beer and bring it to the bartender who then opens it for you. The most shocking thing about it all is that nearly every beer I picked up was well within date. There are apparently enough people drinking Two Hearted, Ruination, Brooklyn Lager and the like to keep the rotation going. Prices are very good. The vibe is so weird and lively that I quite enjoyed myself here. Make sure you play Dragonforce on the jukebox.“

“Sleepy beach bar for the locals that happens to have a great selection. Easily the most unique bar concept I’ve ever been to. You choose your beer by walking into the cold box and rifling through sixers. Nice patio and the biggest, most beautiful black lab I’ve ever seen roams the place.“
