“Awesome brewery than took over commoners brewery. Nice tap list with a great mix of meads and beers. Slight focus if higher ABVs. One BA beer on tap. A bunch of nice flavored meads. Super cool guitarist playing some tunes. Beeaautiful friendly waitress. Can’t get enough of NC hospitality.“

“Super interesting location. Visited during halloween 2022. Huge seating area by the window. Maybe 8 taps, mostly large micro breweries. It’s ok, but not a beer destination.“

“Quite an awesome find in downtown Concord, NC. Huge selection of beers, most warm, mostly cans. Large space, but a just a few 6 or so taps. Must visit if you are in the area.“

“Very awesome brewery and location. Maybe an old warehouse or factory. Enormous interior with wood floors and stone walls. 16 taps. All the beers are well made. I love the emphasis on thiol rich beers. I love high thiol content. Flights of 4x 5-6oz for $12. Love NC prices.“

“A really neat place located in an off the beaten path residential area. The brewery sits in a great old brick industrial building. There is a spacious, comfortable taproom with food (though I did not eat anything). They also have a great outside seating area on a metal deck as well as some picnic tables in the grass out front. Dog friendly. Beers that I tried were all quite good.“

“This place is located in an off the beaten path office complex. Big reflective glass front hides what lies inside. Inside is a nice comfortable tasting room with plenty of table space and an outdoor area. The beers we tried were all excellent. We also had some great Nashville Hot popcorn, which really hit the spot. Well worth a visit.“

“Second time visitor. Place still has a cool speakeasy vibe to it, but it is difficult to find. Strange location is an understatement. The place has a open direct connection with a ballroom/event facility. This time there was a little girl's birthday party going on. You have to walk through the event area to get to the pisser. Beer was far better this time, than the first time I tried it. Had a really good porter and stout in the lineup. Not fully stacked with their own though; supplemented with guest taps. Had free popcorn, which I ate a lot of. I would return for sure. Would love to stagger through the next birthday party.“

“There's a lot to like about this relatively new Concord NC brewery. Cool clean industrial chic interior with comfortable bar seating. Very attentive and friendly bar tender who was knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the beer. They brew both beer and mead, and both are really solid. Varied beer line-up hits both hop and malt sides of the spectrum. The only downside is no food, and no food directly nearby. Not sure if they have food trucks come in.“

“I guess there’s not a lot to do in Concord. The place is full of history and some very nice historic buildings and houses. Any one of them would be a far better location for a brewery then this one. Craft beer has invaded down town and here is the result. It looks like a lot of locals like it. And to be a new start up I’m sure it cant be easy. However this location has to be one of the crappiest places I’ve been to in all my travels. It takes some real effort to find this place. And when I finally found the sign it was in some other businesses window, telling me to come around to the back door. Around back is some weird alley way, half way down the block of ancient buildings is a doorway with a sign. Oh finally were here. But No. You have to climb up a huge narrow staircase at about a 45 degree angle to get into the place. Through another door. It was a super pain to get here. Like a bad geo caching hunt. I dont even want to think about coming down these stairs drunk? Cant be good. Inside its super low buck, no frills. Service was fast and friendly. The beer as a whole was not bad. It has improved. The restroom is another trek across a huge dance floor, kitchen area, down a hallway and into an old closet. Strange to say the least. Beers were ok last trip. I'd hardly make it a destination on its own, but if you are in the area its worth a visit. Again I looked for Travler, and he was not here. “

“Came here on 19.10.2017. Very large red brick building with plenty of parking available. Inside a very visible and large brewhouse behind a glass wall and a huge seating area. Outside you can sit in a nice patio with a few sun umbrellas. The beers were mediocre at the best. Had an ESB and a Pumpkin Saison. Not worth a detour.“

“High branch is indeed well hidden in the Gibson Mall. Its all the way in the back. There is an entrance through the mall itself, and one out back. Like others have said the best way to get here is from the parking lot out back. Hey you were going to Cabarrus too right? This place is another one that needs some better signs. I walk over to an old door, bolted shut, and see a sign that said tap room up these stairs. Up the wooden patio stairs I go to the top of the patio.. nothing there. Wait another sign! "Open this garage door and come on in. Close door behind you." OK The most interesting way to get into a brewery I have seen yet. A garage door! Inside its no frills, antique industrial on a budget. Even with that, it was all tastefully decorated with a pallet theme. Copper topped bar had room for a few to sit there and room for growler fills. Service was fast and friendly with recommendations on the beer. Samples flights pints and growlers all available. Beers were interesting. Nice line up. Restroom was down a long hall under the stairs. Wow. Warm inviting place, and cool staff makes this place an easy recommendation for me.“

“Cabarrus Brewing is in the back of the old Gibson Mall in an older building. The parking lot is a little rough but there is plenty of parking. Inside the place is huge with plenty of room. Lots of tables and seating everywhere. Everything was nice in good shape and super clean. Plenty of comfort to escape the heat. It was about 103 outside in the parking lot, and in here it was a cool 70. The AC was no joke, it was kicking. Super friendly staff, with samples flights and pints available, along with some very nice glassware. Large bar area to order from kept the crowds at bay. Nice offering of beers, with something for everybody. The nicest place around as far as breweries go, and some dang good beer too. Whats not to like. Recommended highly.“

“Newly opened place, located at the end of a winding road beside NASCAR, in a nondescript industrial office area. Definitely nothing to see outside. Plenty of parking. Inside the place has a warm inviting feel. Definitely modern industrial. Very clean. Large bar with NO seating, but plenty of tables and a comfortable looking "chill area". Plenty of beer on tap when I visited, something for everybody. Samples, flights, pints, and growler fills all available. The bar Service gets easily overwhelmed, but was friendly and attentive. Water available from a cool dispenser. Nice clean restrooms. Over all a very nice place to visit. Beers were hit and miss, but I will definitely be back to try more later.“

“Located just next door to the Gibson Mill (and High Branch). Large open taproom, with long german style tables. Ambiance was pretty nice, but kind of reminded me of a large open chain brewpub (ala Gordon Biersch). A large tap selection available when I visited, probably 12-16. Sampler flights of 4 available. Service was friendly but not very helpful. Food didn’t appear to be available in the taproom, but food truck parked outside. Dogs allowed on patio. Beer quality was quite lacking for the beers I tried. Note: this is located across the lot from High Branch. I highly recommend High Branch over Cabarrus. Although Cabarrus has a nice, big location, High Branch’s beer quality was much better from my visit. I wouldn’t go out of my way for Cabarrus.“

“Updated Rating: Before I moved away from the Charlotte area, this was my favorite place to visit. Bumping up the previous rating. Located inside the Gibson Mill, an old mill that has been re-purposed for retail and brewing operations. A little difficult to find the High Branch spot initially, could use some better signage. The actual brewery is a cool little spot. Re-purposed warehouse, with a lot of wood decor. Small taproom with a patio outside. Nice ambiance. Dogs allowed in the taproom and on the patio. Around 8 beers on tap when I visited. Friendly service. Snacks available (chips and cheese plate) in the taproom, and there was a food truck outside. Sampler flights of 4 available. Beer quality was very good! One of the best new breweries I’ve tried in the past couple years. Nice ambiance, great beer, definitely worth checking out! Note: this place is located just across the lot from Cabarrus Brewing. I highly recommend High Branch over Cabarrus!“

“Went on opening day. In an isolated office park, tons of parking. Big taproom with a long bar and some games. Seven barrel brewhouse visible through glass. They had commandeered the parking lot in the back of the brewery for food trucks and games, not sure if that a usual thing. Eight beers on tap, no flights on opening day but hopefully they’ll have them in the future. Beers were very tasty. One to watch.“

“Right across from High Branch, and sort of in the back of Depot antiques mall. GPS to here and park here for both this place and High Branch. This place is much larger, almost like an Oktoberfest or industrial Bavarian beer hall size, with the production brewery visible. Large deck with tables and a food truck outside. Inside the bar is on one end, and a food stand from a local restaurant is on the other. Live music playing when I visited on a Saturday. A dozen beers or so on offer, flights of four were $7. I didn’t see growlers advertised, but I didn’t ask. Beers were all solid and creative. Staff were helpful. Fun atmosphere. Worth a stop.“

“This place is on the first floor of the Depot Antiques Mall. There’s plenty of parking, but you’re better off going around the mall itself to Cabarrus Brewing and parking near there - it’s a long walk through the mall itself. The taproom is pretty simple - up a flight of stairs, with a small deck, a bar and a few tables. Flights of 4 are $8.50 and they had 10 or so beers on tap. Several were variations of a base beer. All were pretty solid. Staff were friendly. They were kid friendly (including a few games in the corner) and dog friendly. Growlers are $10 and glass is an additional $4, pretty cheap. Occasional food trucks, but bad weather canceled the one planned when I stopped by. Worth a stop.“

“I sat on the back patio at Lil’ Roberts with my dog and drank a couple of Loose Cannon IPAs, which were cold and fresh. Both the bartender and owner were very friendly and helpful. They have a good selection on tap and in bottle. Bottles are slightly more pricey than average, but the selection is incredible. This is the by far the best place for drafts or bottles in Concord. I met some interesting people on the back patio and left with a six-pack of Two Hearted Ale.“

“Fantastic place we go there about once a month to stock up. Great selection of self serve singles and a funky vibe.“

“Made a detour through Concord just out of curiosity over this place. They just expanded from 3 taps to 20 taps. The front of the store is a modest bottle shop selling singles only, and the back is a fully functioning barroom. It’s in a nice downtown area. The selection was OK, nothing unusual - Founders, Bells, LoneRider, Allagash, Terrapin, Smuttynose, Olde Hickory, Dogfish head, Big Boss, New Holland, Lagunitas, left Hand, Victory - the normal smattering of NC stuff. The Olde Mecklenburg growlers to go. More than helpful staff. I wonder about the customer traffic and therefore the age of some of the stuff on their shelves, given the location. There were a few things that they were obviously overstocked on and struggling to move. It’s pretty likely that you’ll find some stuff worth buying here for that same reason, as the selection seems to be more random, with a bigger window for buying. If you wanted a case of Cerise or a half dozen bottles of Olde Hickory Imperial Stout, for example, this would be your place right now. Bottom line - you can’t do better that this place without going on into Charlotte, that’s for sure, and they seem to be embracing the beer culture now.“
