“This place was introduced to me by friends in college. I started droppin by every week for a few pints and attempt the "Gauntlet" challenge. Plus I broadened my taste in beer there.“

“This was our first visit to Elizabeth City. We had Coasters as the place to visit. We were not dissapointed. They had over 17 craft beers on tap but in the ally there were two more non-affiliated bars with other taps. Friday night had wiped out 5 of the taps. We had a stout from Terrapin and brown ale from SKR in Durango. The bar had beer signs all along the wall and a bicycle from Fat Tire on a table. The bartender was a Coast Guard aircrewman. He was very helpful and made great recommendations. We had a delicious dinner at one of the other bars in the ally way. Highly recommend stopping bye.“

“Soho has operated in Elizabeth City as an organic market for the past few years. As of June 2010 they now carry craft beer. The selection is not extensive yet but there are some nice choices. Not a bad selection to begin with and there are plans to add more. Worth checking out if you are in Elizabeth City and are looking for good beer...Update as of April 2011. The beer selection has grown and the selections have gotten better. They do a nice job of getting beers that were generally not available in the area. A very nice addition to Elizabeth City.“

“This is a really nice place, especially for a town this size. They have 29 taps with standards being Guinness, Bass, Rogue Dead Guy, and some Highlands. Others are rotated on a regular basis. Several bottles are also on hand with a constantly changing array to choose from. Most of what is available to them by the distributors can be found here (and in many cases you will not find these beers anywhere else in the area). The food has vastly improved from when they first opened and the specials on Wednesday night are paired with the beer special in most cases. I am a big fan of their non-smoking atmosphere and I do not see that business has suffered because of it. This is not a beer destination like some larger bars, but if you are looking for a good beer and you happen to be in or near Elizabeth City there is no other place to look than Coasters.“
