“Visited here early in the spring with family after I was getting a little bored of Burning Blush. Cold, wet, a little breezy, gray outside. They have a porch that is nearly perpetually in the dark, between their courtyard & another building, so it was inconsolable. We found a patch of sunlight & made it work. Once we went inside to order, my father in law said it reeked of farts & we all sort of agreed. A stuffy fermentation factory in need of a few windows. It's also dimly lit & has a bit of an older crowd, maybe 50/50 local vet vs tourist. The theme definitely attracted old vets. Pet friendly. If you order food, you have to go inside to a window before the bathroom & pick it up. Food was actually okay to good beer hall German & American stuff, with an occasional hard miss like the baked cheese sticks. One, not mozzarella, two... baked? Beers were okay to good, but not a whole lot that was interesting. Very traditional German or English styles. I want to say twelve taps, maybe 2-3 were out. Their take on a Guinness was pretty solid. $5 pints, give or take. Better breweries in Hendersonville, but worth a shot.“

“Nice laid back atmosphere. Bar area with doors opening into an outside courtyard. Beer was average. Kid friendly. They had a food truck there on our visit over Labor Day weekend.“

“Located in the arts district off of downtown Hendersonville. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly and enthusiastic about the beers, most of which were above average. A good place, worth seeking out.“

“Yet another converted warehouse space that is pretty well used. They had a very good 3 piece quartet, that we quite enjoyed. Didn’t really talk to the staff much since we were all listening to the music. Solid, beers.“

“Located in an warehouse building somewhere near downtown. They had plenty of street parking on this block along with a pretty sizable patio/cornhole area. They had 6 things on tap which were solid but not spectacular. The staff seemed friendly enough although I can’t vouch for their beer knowledge since imdidnt here them drop any. They had a 3 piece band playing who were quite good and certainly added to the ambience of the place.“

“first visit to taproom. basic neighborhood brew pub. smallish area but in spring and summer you can open up doors and play corn hole or whatever outside. had the sampler and it was good the brewing facility is right there in front of you and if i could have a candle that smelled light grain and hops it would be what we smelled when we walked in..decent place several locals inside and talked to a few of them seemed very happy with the surroundings and i must agree. thanks kelly“

“I thought this place was AWFUL. There were kids EVERYWHERE, and nowhere near enough seating. They had a crappy band playing that was too loud, and they couldn’t even give out a beer list. Beer was marginal, but the ambiance was so overwhelmingly bad, I will go out of my way to never go back.“

“Located South of Asheville. This is a warehouse brewery with a rather large tasting room/bar. Very nice inside and out with tables and a bar that can fit maybe up to 10 people. There is a large courtyard outside that is set up for cornhole and looks like it would be excellent for all kinds of activities. Live music is there frequently. The beers are good to very well made and they occasionally have a guest tap or two. Pints were $3.50 for most beers and there is a four beer sampler for $4.50 and a five beer sampler for an extra buck. The people were exceptionally nice and I’m pretty sure I was talking to one of the owners extensively. Not much food but they do offer pretzels. Dog friendly. A decent amount of parking spaces out front but there are other businesses some those may fill up during the week. A very nice stop worth going out of your way for.“

“Huge outdoor walled area with Cornhole, Ladder Golf and seating. Kid and dog friendly, as evidenened by the sidewalk chalk graffiti and free dog biscuits. Four house beers on tap, Belgian Blonde, Copperhead Amber, IPA, and Black Bear Stout. Friendly staff pouring these and two guest beers ( St. Bernardus Abt 12 and Reissdorff Kolsch recently ). There is live music every weekend and often throughout the week too. The stout was awesome, coffee and chocolate flavours but nothing added to it according to the bartender, just the kind of malts used, rich cappuccino coloured head, would be even better if poured with Nitrogen! IPA was good, more of what I would call an East Coast style, dry and bitter, similar to Terrapins’ Hopsecutioner. Plans for an outdoor stage next year, lots of events planned this month, including 2 Octoberfests! Definitely worth a trip to Hendersonville!“

“October 2011. This is perhaps the biggest hidden gems in the Asheville-area ... super-friendly, family-owned and operated, and quality beers! Situated in a quiet neighborhood in a quiet town, this is a great place to enjoy a pint (or four) and a fresh pretzel. Even on our first (and only, so far) visit, we were warmly welcomed as if we were regulars. The beer was really, really good too, which is always a bonus. This is a DEFINITE stop in the Asheville area!! (#558)“
