| 90 /100 401 S. RAILROAD ST. “GATM is Lexington NC's first brewery. Located right off main street up against the railroad tracks, the location is easily accessible and has a huge gravel parking lot. The space is very open with plenty of bar seating, table seating, and outside seating at picnic tables. Decor is industrial chic. It looks like an old school brewpub, and I love it. Large glass windows allow views of the brewhouse. They are both dog and kid friendly and have a couple arcade machines to entertain the youngsters. They have 16 taps and usually 12-15 house their own beers with one reserved for a guest cider..They also serve wine by the glass and gourmet coffee. Canned beer is available to go. They have food trucks typically Thurs-Sun. No food is available on premise, but there are a handful of local restaurants that deliver. The beer variety is good with a mix of ales and lagers, light and dark. I wouldn't say that they have a specific wheelhouse yet in terms if beer styles, though they stick largely to sessionable beers. They have one of the best Blonde ales in NC and have a blueberry version of it that is great. One offs are common and beers rotate often. The quality is consistently high. Lastly, service is excellent. The place is well managed, the staff knows their stuff, and they manage their social media diligently. Highly recommended.“ |
