“Before I was an employee, I was a huge fan of this brewery. I made it a point to stop in for a visit every single time I was in the area for vacation. The beer is consistent and clean. They offer a variety of styles that are approachable and made accurately to style. And they're not a one-trick hype pony - they brew everything from light bodied ales to Belgian Quads - and everything in between. My absolute favorite right now is the Powehi Cascadian Dark Ale and the Fire Knife Double IPA. Being a small batch brewery with only a few employees, it's even more impressive that they continue to crank out top quality beers. Variety and selection change frequently since only about 78 gallons of beer is being made per batch (this has doubled since expanding the brewhouse fermenters by 21 barrels in January). The expansion should help keep up with demand in-season and allow for some local exclusive distribution. What's not surprising is the fact that they have won medals in the NC Brewer's Cup and Beer Army Beer Wars. Being the oldest brewery in Brunswick County, and the only one whose beer is produced 100% in North Carolina, this quaint brewery and taproom is a must visit for anyone within an hour of Myrtle Beach SC or Wilmington NC.“
