“Whiskey bar in Bedford Heights, Ohio. Seats for a dozen people at the bar and plenty of room out on the patio. 8 prime beer taps and about 500 different whiskeys. Service is good and nice. Music playing rock. Food is great here. Plenary of parking. Over 100 different beers here in cans to try also. Little pricey but they have prime stuff here. Overall experience is Awesome!“

“An awesome beer store with a strong whiskey/bourbon selection at the bar with a few taps as well. Place was really dark (to the point it was tough to read some labels in the middle of a sunny day) with beer shelves throughout, a bar towards the back and seating off to the side in the back. Service was great and the bartender was happy to answer questions about bottles or taps. Selection of bottles was amazing with a good number of foreign bottles. Any bottle could be opened by the bartender in the store. They also had some cool taps with samples available. Did not try the food on my visit and prices seemed reasonable. A really cool spot!“

“Plenty of parking right in front. Place is dimly lit, which is cool for the bar, but it is a little hard to see what they have. Bottles on the left front and on the right. Nice quality of brews and medium size quantity. Bar on the back left with some pretty interesting selections. Descent selection of locals and sours. The girl who helped me wasn’t uber beer knowledgeable, but was nice and between the both of us we were able to figure things out. Nothing rare, but nice selection none the less.“

“1 of 3 locations. Bottle selection is stellar. Draft list is good but not great. Food is awesome. They also have an equally amazing selection of whiskey. Staff is very knowledgeable and service is usually pretty good. They get some amazing things. check them out.“

“Visited: 8-16-11 I came from Sav On Tobacco in Mentor and thought it was over rated by the locals...this place is not. When you walk in, your first impression is...nice place. They have 8 high end taps and about 80 bottles in coolers for on premises consumption. They have a great selection of beers that are seperated by style, not brewer or state. That is a nice twist to your typical store. The atmosphere is definitely of a beer snob bar with bottles along the wall to choose from. The bartender Jaime was excellent, very knowledgable about beer. The prices were decent too. If you come to Cleveland, this should be a stop on your way.“

“Decent food, pretty solid selection of draft and bottle. A bit on the cheesy side, lots of lizards, games. Sports bar with decent selection. Day bartenders were the mother type and very friendly. They knew their sports too. Not a place i would frequent but selection was decent.“

“Before Lizardville opened next door this used to be a good option for craft beer in the area. The prices can be a bit on the high side but the selection is typical of the Winking Lizard chain. Food is fairly standard pub fare. There is not much to set this apart from the other locations except the fact that parking can be tricky when it really gets busy. If you need food while sampling beers next door they will deliver (although Lizardville does have its own kitchen now).“

“Best selection in the area, excellent spot near 271 and 480. Tons of bottles, lots of rarities, always check the counter by the register for new stuff. Also ask one of the guys if there is anything special in the back. This is my go to beer store. They have 8 taps and usually it is stuff that no one else has in town.“

“Stopped in after Lizardville next door shut down for the night. Nice beer selection, just like the Winking Lizard in Peninsula. Didn’t try the food but have eaten at other Winking Lizards and it’s always good. Had a few beers instead.. Service was prompt and had a nice feel to the place. Some interesting seasonal things on tap as well.“

“Amazing bottle selection, and a ton of stuff on draft. Some hard to find sour ales available for purchase. Great whiskey and scotch selection as well. The bison burger with goat cheese was quite tasty. Good place to sit back and relax with a few beers.“

“Lots of rare singles, but kind of for hipsters. But if you really love beer you will have to go to House of 1000 Beers Pittsburgh, PA.“

“I stopped by Lizardville in October of 2012. Their selection of local, US and Imports is among the best I’ve seen in the US. Tons of great beers including a few rarer things that always seem to sell out immediately when they land on shelves in NYC or other major metro areas. The staff was extremely helpful - directing me towards some great things I had missed & providing great recommendations of alternatives when something I wanted wasn’t on the shelves. My only complaint is that they organize beer by style, not brewer. This makes it a bit more difficult to do something like locate all the Buckeye beers that they have in stock. Still, a great, great store & one that I’ll certainly be back to.“

“A great store with people who seem to care about their job. They always tend to my questions. The tap selection isn’t great on normal occasions but every now and then they have something surely worth trying. The bottles are of good quality. I find something every time I stop in. Check it out.“

“(Visited 03/2012): Lizardville is on Miles Rd not too far off I-271, right next to Winking Lizard’s bar and party center. Pretty square brick building with a private lot in front.

The inside opens to a bottle shop, and past that is a cozy bar. The shop has wall to wall shelves full of beer from all over. Between the bar are some barrels and the bar wraps around, showing off a well-stocked whiskey selection and board listing their draught beers.

Lizardville has around 12 draught beers featuring craft brewers like Founders, Great Lakes, Victory and CBC. Growlers are available. The shop has 400+ selections from domestic and international microbreweries.

Service was friendly and knowledgeable on our visit.

We did not try any food on our visit.

Overall this is a great spot that I would frequent heavily if it were nearby.“

“Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. At first, the place wasn’t too busy, but the longer we stayed, the busier the place got. We eventually decided to move our drinking to the outside bar where, surprisingly, nobody else had figured out was empty. The bottled beer selection was supremely impressive and organized about as well as anybody could request. Everything was organized by style. It was easy to find something if it was there. The draft selection was quite impressive, carrying mostly seasonals, imports, and one-offs. They definitely get the most out of their 8 taps. If you’re into whiskey at all, they have a 69 page whiskey menu. The staff was all very helpful anytime I had a question. Burl, who took care of us for most of our visit, was very knowledgeable and able to talk about any beer we decided to talk about. The place is a must-stop if you are in the Cleveland area. If you don’t, you will have missed a golden opportunity.“

“One of the absolute coolest places you can go in Cleveland. Beer store and beer bar and whiskey and cigar bar all in one. Excellent service - i am from colorado and went in there in July, and then again in October and the bartender remembered my name and asked how i was doing! Not cheap but there’s no place like it and you can no doubt drink exactly what you’re in the mood for given that they will serve you any bottle on the shelves in addition to their taps. Awesome homemade potato chips too (didn’t have food yet when i was there)“

“The selection speaks for itself. What amazes me is the great job they do rotating the taps and bringing in new, fresh, and interesting beers. I’ve been in several times and everyone I’ve dealt with here is very knowledgeable. Unlike the beer and whiskey selections, the menu is very limited, but what they have is very good. I’m glad I live fairly close to this place and have been telling a lot of people about it.“

“Great spot. Nice and easy to get to. Great service. The two guys were super helpful, pointed out some really rare stuff. A pretty decent slection, have seen alot bigger, but tonnes of rare stuff. Will go back if I’m in the neighbourhood. Not a place for cheap beer. Can’t comment of food, didn’t have any. Looks like they have lots of brewers events, including just recently with Nogne O, nice!“

“I have visited here several times since they opened. There are a handful of places that get the best beer in town and this is one of them. Located next to the original Winking Lizard in town on the East side.

They have a handful of taps and hundreds of bottles. Bottles are divided by style and sit on shelves with dimly lit light. Staff knows there beer here probably better than I do. Real knowledgeable when it comes to everything beer and whiskey.

Overall a one stop shop. If I were on the East side this is where I’d stop for beer. They can chill any beer in minutes for you to drink at the bar if you like. Awesome beer always on tap. I didn’t rate the food as I haven’t tried it. Just a cool place.“

“Located in old Winking Lizard site just off the interstate this is a must stop on Cleveland’s east side. Now that they’ve added a small area with tables and limited food service there is no reason at all to go next door. Just watch out for the parking which can be tough to find with people using the lot to go to the Winking Lizard.

From the day it opened Lizardville raised the bar for northeastern Ohio. With beers that I did not even know were distributed in the state on the shelves they are not afraid to take risks. From BFM to De Molen and limited sours if it is available you will find it here. Beers are available in singles as well; you don’t have to take risks with six packs to try that new local.

The only real knock is that prices can be high for the taps. While the pours are generous $8.50 a pop adds up very quickly. As a result I visit much less often than I probably would otherwise. Still if you are in the area check it out.“

“Went there after they posted on twitter about having some 3F and was first come first served, so I figured I’d take a gamble and head on over. Had 2/4 3F remaining and as soon as I hit the door I was greeted immediately asking if I needed any help. Shop help was attentive but not overbearing, though not knowing how much beer i’ve sampled still suggested plenty of offerings. Store is well laid out, plenty of bottles all organized by style, whiskey bar is impressive and tap list ever changing. Glad this business is thriving and perhaps looking to expand.“

“I love this place. It’s like the ultimate man-cave. One of the best bottle selections in NE Ohio. Staff is very knowledgeable & friendly. This place has beer that I haven’t seen anywhere else in the area. If you chose to drink there, they only mark up the retail price by $1 for regular size bottles and $2 for larger bottles.“

“Great atmosphere - walls covered with beer shelves - nice wooden bar - and many kinds of whisky. The draft selections are 8, but very unique and hard to find beers. The bottle selection is excellent. They also have a great patio. One of the best beer bars in cleveland currenlty and I suspect it will get better.“

“This place is pretty awesome. From the dark, cozy barspace to the hundreds of beers lining the shelves all around, it’s a perfect place to spend a couple hours. The bottle and draft selection here is better than anywhere else in Cleveland, hands down. That’s not to say another place won’t beat Lizardville on any given day, but for the long haul, my money is on this place to be king.“

“They do have some food but not much. Excellent selection of beer. Our bartender was very knowledgeable. They will chill any of their extensive selection of beer and have it ready for you in 8 min (but there is a lot of already chilled beer around). My ratings ate based on my first visit. I will say that on my second visit(Mon. 7/11/11) that the bartender was a witch (not sure what the problem was).“

“Really nice place to stop. The bottles are neatly organized by style onto deep stained wooden shelves many with the accompanying glasses next to the bottles. This place has a real nice classy feel to it. The bar area is nice and complete with beer on tap and also a fine selection of whiskey. Outside is another bar where one can enjoy a drink of choice, either pick a bottle off the shelf, have one on tap, or have some whiskey while enjoying a cigar. The selection of bottles is fairly extensive with many different bottles and vintages available and are priced very reasonably. Overall, this is a great place to go to hang out, spend some time perusing the beer, or just for a quick buy. Highly recommend.“

“Lizardville opened on 4-26-11. Very nice place and the staff is very helpful. Good selection of beer that is seperated by style and some nice stuff on tap. I got to have a Pizza Port beer on tap, in Ohio, how cool is that! If you are into whiskey they have over 100 bottles to choose from at the bar. They also have a nice patio where you can smoke. They have a small selection of cigars too. How many bottle shops do you know of where drink beer when you’re shopping for beer.“

“(Visited 03/2009 & 03/2010): Visited here for the first and second annual Winking Lizard Real Ale Festival. While the majority of the time was spent in the Party Center, I was able to see the entire compound. This WL location is on Miles Rd not too far off the freeway. The interior is similar to other locations. There is a centrally located bar, a lizard habitat, and restaurant seating. In the party center the brewers were situated in the center (8 in all) with a buffet and convention-style seating. Winking Lizard has around 20 beers on tap, including a draught of the month (keep the glass) and a "hoppy handle". They are well known for there 125+ bottled beers, of which drinking 100 will earn a prize in their world tour of beers. Service was very good at the Real Ale Fest. The servers did a good job complementing the brewers in attendance. The food was also pretty good. Mostly appetizers and finger food but good by that measure. Overall I would definitley recommend this place to anyone in the Bedford Heights area.“
