“Best selection of craft beers in Bowling Green. New beers come in every week. Hard to keep up with every new beer coming out as there is such a great selection.“

“Update: June 2016 they have a real tap system now and 14 beers on tap. They seem to have figured out the supply side and they had a nice style selection and a great coconut iipa. Original: Type the address into your GPS and trust that it is correct. This is in a part of a small industrial building in a residential area with very little by way of outside signage. There is plenty of parking, but the place inside is small. The room is dominated by the cooler, with a small bar that goes around it and a few tables against the walls. The owner/brewer is there and was greeting and talking with all the patrons. They had seven of their own beers on tap and a dry cider that they make as well. The beers I had were fine, if a little unrefined. The cider was nice. The most polished part of the entire place is the spacious, ADA compliant bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised at the crowd on a Friday night. This place is definitely in the beginning phase of what I hope will soon be bigger and better things.“

“Visited for dinner during a tuba conference, May 2015. The four of us that went really enjoyed our time at Reverend’s. Small but good taplist, including a berliner weisse when I was there! My friends were particularly thrilled with all the serves being pretty smokin’ hot college chicks and they were all wearing leggings/yoga pants/whatever, so there was booty abound as you chilled. Nice place on the main strip in BG. Our server was very nice, prompt, could list all beers on tap and speak briefly to them if asked. One friend even said "what do you have on tap that’s hoppy" and she nailed it, naming the IPAs and then a pale ale. Good selection of craft beer, just wish it was more and had more local/OH stuff. My food was pretty decent. I had mac & cheese with buffalo tenders and the buffalo sauce was awesome but the mac & cheese was meh... garlic and butter abound, not too cheesy. Average to slightly high prices in my opinion. If I’m ever back in BG for some reason, this will definitely be stop of mine!“

“Visited May 2015 for the after hang after a tuba conference. I really enjoyed my time at Stone’s Throw. I didn’t eat while there but heard good things. Nice place, Irish Pub turned restaurant vibe. The place was understaffed for a busy Friday night, especially considering they were warned we were coming. One older bartender seemed particularly disgruntled and was telling people to go to the bar, telling them "good luck" if they ordered food, etc. Great beer selection for the area, even an OH beer on cask. If I find myself back in Bowling Green, this will definitely be a stop, second only to Reverend’s for the eye candy,“

“The City tap and the Attic are two different places in one location. The attic is upstairs and is a dance club for 18+. The good part is City Tap, which is downstairs (21+ after 10pm) and offers good food and 34 draft beers at amazing prices. The burgers and fries are very good at about 7 bucks for a full meal, and the beers are decently priced, but if you buy by the pitcher its a steal. Pitchers of lake erie monster, blackout stout, lagunitas limited releases, and many more expensive brews are about 10 bucks! It’s true that many of their taps are wasted with various macros, ciders, and fruity beers, but they usually have a couple great beers for a price that can’t be beat.“

“Great food and beer at a great price. They get nice rarities as well. Some of my favorite drafts they’ve gotten include Founder’s Devil Dancer and Kentucky Breakfast Stout, lots of Bells, belgians like Delirium, Bernardus, Monks cafe, and more. Great atmosphere. I live in Bowling Green and this is my favorite bar.“

“Reverend’s Bar & Grill is in downtown Bowling Green on Wooster, the main drag through town from I-75. I came in here before watching my beloved alma mater lose to BGSU by 9 in basketball in early January, and it wasn’t very crowded (I was there from about 5:45 until 6:30-ish). Supposedly it gets crowded with students later. I was happy to find a place with good craft beer in a college town, and in addition to the usuals (Bud Light, Rolling Rock, Guinness, PBR), it had 8 craft taps, including Duchesse de Bourgogne, Bell’s Amber Ale, GI 312, Troegenator, Green Flash West Coast IPA, Great Lakes Burning River, Maumee Dry Irish Stout, and Avery Salvation. The taps change consistently, and the owner is good about keeping the tap lists fresh online and on myspace. The atmosphere is good; new-ish, clean, 2 brick-walled rooms, young female student waitresses/bartenders. The staff was good about knowing what was on tap, but not a lot about beer in general if you’re looking for any conversation. The food is fair; I was there during a half-priced appetizer special and got cheese fries (meh) and chicken skewers (small, but good). Recommended if you’re ever in town, as the other choice for a wide beer selection is Buffalo Wild Wings, where you won’t see anything interesting.“
