“Located in downtown Cleveland, it was meter parking. Large tall ceilings, kitchen, busy large bar, Industrial modern decor with nod to past. Beers were all tasty and above what I thought. Food was good too. Nice vibe and nice server.“

“On Market Street just off W 25th has upstairs and downstairs bar. Rock music on radio. 17 bars on tap. Food here. Awesome gift shop with t-shirts and beer to go. 4 breweries in walking distance. Low lighting and patio for the summer. 1 bartender downstairs tonight. This place is fantastic. Don’t forget to ask the bartender upstairs where the historic bullet holes are. Cheers!“

“Brewpub right on the Cuyahoga River. Nice scenic views even from inside and there is outdoor seating. Very large space, long bar, lots of tables. Some TVs. They have some old school pinball games. Beer list is fairly standard. Nothing really special but they have the main styles (porter, Kolsch, ipa, pale, witbier, wheat, hefe). But the beers were all solid. Food menu includes appetizers, salads, pizzas, and sandwiches. Pretty good food. Overall a nice stop, maybe not the best beer but definitely gets the job done.“

“Fairly large brewery in Cleveland. Nice open space, lots of separated tables, shelves with books to give sort of a library ambiance. About 12 beers on tap, a variety of styles, interesting ones including fruited stout, Flanders red. I don’t think they have any food. A cozy spot, good beer. “

“Friday afternoon in Cleveland, Ohio and stopped for a beer at the Outpost. Music playing here. 29 taps going. Free parking in their parking lot. Nice bartender. Two bartenders present. Shirts, hats, and beer to go. Nice patio and they serve food here. Had a milkshake ipa here and very good. Overall the visit is very pleasant. Cheers!“

“Phunkenship is The Platform Brewing sour house. Located in near west side, Cleveland, Ohio. I parked in their parking lot which is not very big. Music to loud. 10 beers on draft most of them are sours of some sort. Plenty of bartenders and they have beers to. Nice bar and tables to sit at. My visit was ok. Cheers!“

“My first BrewDog USA location and not my last. A monumental, extravagant place, build on a property that was conceived from the ground up to be a BrewDog establishment. The interior is huge and sleek, build with style, in keeping with the nicer BrewDog establishments across Europe. They had about 30 on tap when I visited, with beers available in 6, 9 or 12 oz pours, and staff will do samples too. The taplist wasn't hugely inspiring when I went, but I found some interesting things. Staff are friendly and quick. Not a home-grown place, but well worth visiting when in Cleveland for the experience.“

“Located right downtown, so parking can be tough and/or costly unless you visit on the weekend, which is what I did. Nice, modern taproom with lots of ST beers on, plus some guests from Sixpoint and others. 5 oz pours of everything available. They had tons of their imperial beers on when I visited. Though not a home-grown brewery, this is well-worth the visit when in Cleveland.“

“Close to a bunch of other breweries, I was pretty happy with this place. I tried a make-your-own-flight and was happy with most, especially their BBA impie stout. Comfortable spot, though pretty standard vibes for the area. Worth a look.“

“A classic old school place in the heart of Cleveland. It's still relevant. Nicely set-up, with plenty of patio spice and different sections, you can try many of their classics and newer concoctions here. Small pours of everything in singles, which is great for tickers, and very reasonably priced. I had dinner here too, since they had some vegan options. My food was good, but the portion was tiny; I needed a major snack after. Friendly service and a mandatory visit when in Cleveland.“

“On the day I visited here, this was my 4th meadery of the day! And easily the best one. It's close to the centre, a tiny place, but nicely set up. The guy who runs the place (also the mead maker) is really passionate and knowledgeable about what he does. After I signaled I was quite the mead fan, we had some great conversation about meads from far and wide. Anyway... He had roughly 20 meads on offer, with most available in 2 oz pours, some in 1 oz pours. The meads range from dry to sweet, with the stand-outs being the pyments he had. Not Schramm's- or Superstition-level, but very impressive mead quality. Highly recommended when in Cleveland.“

“Busy place before a ballgame. Southern Tier Taproom is in Cleveland Ohio. Parking is pricey but plenty of parking around. Dim lighting and sports on tv. Only one bartender during a busy time. Souvenirs and beer to go. The brewer is nice place to visit while in Cleveland. Cheers!“

“This place was founded in 1950 as the Croatian Liberty Home, a social and political gathering spot for the community of Croatians and their descendants that seems to have largely left this east Cleveland neighborhood. The building was sold and became in 2000 the Beachland Ballroom, a concert club. Shows are presented in the larger ballroom, an expansive room with cool paintings of long ago Croatian life left over from the building's former use, and the smaller tavern. I saw a show in the ballroom some years back, and recently returned to see Johnny Dowd in the smaller tavern. The tavern has the look and vibe of an old time friendly neighborhood bar. Although at one time the Beachland had plans to add draft beer, those plans haven't come to fruition. The bottled/canned selection, while not outstanding, is a cut above a lot of other small concert venues. If you're a bit short an cash, they have Genesee Cream Ale, one of the better macros, available in 16 ounce cans. While hardly a beer destination, the Beachland is a great place to see a concert and have a decent brew.“

“I have enjoyed Bookhouse every time I visit. Over a dozen of their beers on tap, plus an occasional guest and seltzer. They also have some liquor. All the beers are well made and they tend to have different styles than your standard taproom. Cozy decor with lots of books and board games. Seems fully open post Covid. Worth the walk (but there is street parking) from Great Lakes.“

“On the corner with parking right in front. Descent medium size selection of craft beer. There is a small singles stand in the back right and some bomber singles. I did see a couple things I might have bought if they were in singles. The dude working seemed all right. I would not go out of my way and probable won't go back.“

“Excellent area of Cleveland. You will pay for parking or have to walk a ways, beer menu says that they have brewpub only beers, but they weren't marked as such on the menu, so you have to guess which ones they might be. Of course I didn't ask the server, as she seemed overwhelmed by wearing a mask and running to outdoor tables all day. Not a great selection numbers wise. Had food which was pretty good. Worth a stop.“

“This brewery is located inside a college. Parking is miserable because of that. Aside from that negative, the brewery itself is actually pretty nice. Huge draft list with a great breadth of styles offered. Almost all are done well to style with a few standouts. I would visit again, but probably not mess with driving and parking.“

“Located amongst the downtown restaurants. Basically valet parking is the only option here, but it puts you within 100 feet of the brewery. They were fairly busy on a Sunday evening. Really cool old building converted to a high end restaurant and brewery, plus a butch/deli. The food was incredible, and you will certainly be paying for the quality. Beer quality was fairly high as well, with a good variety of styles. Great service. Make sure to check out the bathrooms whether you need to use them or not.“

“Visited on a Sunday shortly after they opened. It was fairly quiet. The place is huge. We sat at the bar and ordered flights of the stuff that sounded good. They make a lot of IPAs, so if you enjoy those, they got you covered. Beer quality was good. They have an open kitchen off to the side where you can see the food being prepared. It smelled really good. They have a brick oven pizza operation, which I am sure had a lot to do with how good it smelled in there. Servers were friendly and kept up with us. It is a worthwhile stop when in the area.“

“Visited on a later Saturday evening. It is attached to Western Reserve Meadery, which I would highly recommend you visit. This place has sort of a dive feel to it. Beer quality is fair to good. Only one beer here that I couldn't finish. Servers were both very nice and kept up with us well. Decent place to hang out for a bit.“

“My friends and I visited toward closing time on a Saturday night. Street parking is available. Cool side note, there is a brewery (Forest City) attached here as well as a coffee shop (Duck Rabbit). The guy working was very friendly and was good to talk with. We sampled everything available, which was a great idea because it was all phenomenal. Highly recommend this place.“

“Visited on a Saturday late afternoon. They have a small parking lot. Fairly large seating space and a pretty big bar. They weren't busy when we got here, but the parking lot they had was full. I was excited to try the beers when I saw the styles they had on draft. Unfortunately none of the beers were very good. We did order some food while here, the fried smelt basket, which was the best part. Servers were nice. This place would be an easy one for me to say to pass unless you want to visit every brewery in Cleveland.“

“Visited this place twice. Once on a Saturday afternoon, and once on a Sunday afternoon. When visiting, be aware that the parking lot beside the brewery is not theirs, and actually paying to park there is a fairly confusing process, at least to somebody that is not a local. I opted for street parking by a meter, which was free during my visit. The beer here is really of high quality. Service is outstanding as well. Though I didn't try any of the food, it all looked and smelled amazing, for what that counts for. I would recommend this as a must stop when visiting Cleveland. You are relatively close to Masthead as well, which is alright. Locals go crazy for it, and if you are into IPAs, you might enjoy it as well.“

“Visited on a late Friday evening close to their closing time, but with enough time to order flights before last call. The place is in a house that was converted to a brewery. Lots of books around, hence the name I suppose. Also board games abound. There were plenty of places to sit, and it was overall a pretty cozy and cool place. I could spend a lot of time here just hanging out, reading, and having some beer. Quality of beer was pretty high overall, plus they made several styles I find interesting. I would make this place a priority when visiting Cleveland.“

“Visited in the evening on a Friday night. They were pretty busy, but my group of three were able to get a group of seats together at the bar. The draft list was loaded with interesting sounding beers, which we ordered flights of. Unfortunately they were mostly just mediocre beers with a couple exceptions. Service was alright. Everybody working seemed to really not be enjoying themselves. They were friendly toward us, so there is that at least.“

“A very large place in downtown Cleveland. Sports bar vibe, also a place for large parties. There is a long bar, tons of TVs, and lots of tables. I watched the Kentucky Derby here. Plenty of house beers, and some guest taps too. They had an excellent coffee stout and a raspberry/peanut butter stout. For food, they have a variety of pizzas, which were good. Solid place, can be a bit crowded/loud.“

“Close to downtown Cleveland near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In an old warehouse, had a homey feel. There is a bar, TVs, plenty of tables. Solid brewery, seemed to feature classic styles. I got to try an alt bier, NE IPA, lichtenhainer, irish stout, baltic porter. All were good. I think there is a small food menu but I didn't have any. Worth a stop, definitely a place you could hang out for a few hours.“

“Excellent brewpub in downtown Cleveland. Located on a pedestrian only street in a restaurant/bar heavy area. A large space, although seating can get tight. There is a long bar, TVs, and tables. They had a pretty decent tap list, plenty to choose from. I got to try an albino stout, ginger lager, kolsch, grisette. The beers were good, no stand outs, but decent enough. The food was quite good, with an emphasis on meat. I had a meat and cheese plate and a smoked pulled pork, which was delicious. A great place for dinner and the beer is pretty good too. Probably your best option in downtown Cleveland“

“Small brewery totally packed. Limited hours just being Friday and Saturday nights. Lighting is low and I parked on the road for free. About thirty people in here. No food I do believe. “Stopped in this 111 year old neighborhood joint with Margi after going to the Christmas Story House on a Tuesday afternoon. It's literally in the middle of an otherwise residential neighborhood in view of the steel mills due east. The beer selection is decent, though there aren't a lot of taps, but it's a quiet place (at least on a Tuesday around 2pm anyway) and some of the best bar grub I've ever had. I'd highly recommend the poutine (classic brown gravy, cheese curds and crispy french fries) and the pierogies done up in carmelized onions and buffalo sauce. Really hit the spot on a raw day in Northeast Ohio. Absolutely will go back next time I'm in the 216. Sláinte!“
