“Parking is hard to find here and I grabbed the last spot behind the building that Combustion Brewing in the Clintonville section of Columbus, Ohio. Medium size taproom with bar, tables, and small patio overlooking the parking lot. 22 of their own beers on tap here. Only a few people here with one bartender doing a great job checking on everyone. Pets allowed here. Soft alternative music on radio. It fits in here. I see no food here. They have souvenirs here with hats and t-shirts. Beer to go in cans and they seem to do crowlers and growlers. Dim light and a very big garage that’s open is nice for the lighting. For a medium sized place it’s pretty nice and chilled. Cheers!“

The Walrus (Restaurant)
143 E. MAIN ST.
“(Visited 03/2016): The Walrus is in downtown Columbus on Main Street and 4th. Metered parking and parking garages are nearby. There is a small patio on the sidewalk and a garage door next to the entrance for the warm months. Inside leads directlyto a seating area with high-top tables along the right side and the bar in the back with additional seating. Old brick walls and wood floors and furniture. There are several TVs on the walls throughout the space as well. The Walrus has around 30 taps featuring local breweries like Nowhere In Particular, Parsons North, Columbus Brewing and Zaftig, along with other craft breweries like Lagunitas and Founders. Service on my visits has been consistently above average. The servers are familiar with the beers they serve and are efficient. Food at The Walrus consists mainly of upscale pub grub like burgers, sandwiches and flatbread. Meals there have been good. Overall this is a solid downtown spot to visit for a decent beer selection and good food.“

“Big place with a parking deck and a Brit garden. Hofbrauhaus in Columbus, Ohio is very German oriented. German fest music is playing on the radio. Bartender was prompt and wearing her Oktoberfest. Food was marvelous just a little pricey. I had the schnitzel sandwich and was pretty good. Souvenirs and beers to go here. Looks like 5 tap handles of their own beer. Overall I just love this place and party atmosphere. Cheers!“

“One of the better spots in Columbus, with a beautifully designed tasting room and dining area in downtown Columbus. There's pay street parking or a parking lot nearby with (expensive) pay parking. They had maybe a dozen taps when I visited, with flights of 3 for $12 or 5 for $15; I did the latter and was happy with most of the beers, with a couple being quite good. Service was very kind, friendly and informative. I really liked my stop here. Worth hitting when in Columbus.“

“Longer-running brewery and well-worth visiting. I stopped in on a Monday around 5pm, and it was already quite busy. I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the service was very welcoming. Flights of 4 available for about $12 plus tax. I especially liked their 2 WCIIPAs on tap. Their others were hit or miss, with a truly bad BA strong ale with ginger that tasted like medicinal cough syrup. All in all, a great place for beer.“

“Very cool spot in an unsuspecting location, reminding me of all their UK brewpubs. It has a polished, somewhat extravagant interior with warehouse-like high ceilings, tons of seating, and some bar stools at tables in front of the bar. 6-, 9- and 12-oz pours available of everything, with free samples also available. Varied array of styles, including guest taps. Good service and beers. Well-worth a visit when in Columbus.“

“Small place located in a strip mall just north of downtown Columbus. Up to date indie music on the radio here at Derive brewing . Smell the pizza. Small outdoor patio. Couple bartenders. Got to scan a bar code for a beer list. Dim lighting in the bar area. Souvenirs shirts and hats. They fill growlers. Younger college crowd. Like this place. Cheers!“

“Tap room at CMH airport. Typical US sports-bar style. Serving own beer plus some macros, which seemed a bit weird. Food was OK. Service was pretty poor, seemed unable to deal with the fact that I couldn’t access the menu by using the QR code. No flights unfortunately. The one beer I had was pretty good however, the Dank Costanza.“

“Nice find on a cloudy afternoon in the Easton Town Center. Half a dozen or more taps, a large selection of imported and regional brews. The place has a good Irish feel about it, and the draft beers were standard, but still fresh and good, the food was excellent, the service was adequate, I'd come again.“

“Big colorful brewpub with bar and table service. Great looking place, brewery equipment visible through tall windows and even a pool available! I've never seen that before. 12 taps and about 6 more cans. The beer styles are all over the place, as Hoof Hearted tends to be. I think they do a little too much with all the mashups of flavors, but it's true to style. The flight I had varied from below average to good. I was only stopping through so I can't speak for the rest of the Columbus breweries. I would still recommend this place to anyone in the area. “

“Small/medium place right beside B23. Long bar in the back, tables, and a row of tables just into the concourse. I saw 8 taps a couple being BMC. Unless you have had several Land Grant several ticks await. If you are in concourse B you might grab a beer. They had some shirts for sale.“

“Visited on a beautiful spring day sat outside in the biergarten. You order at the bar or online they bring it to you at your table. When I visited they had 8 drafts they were pouring. The best were a dry hopped pils, a Dortmunder, and Kolsch. The altbier was solid as well. Had lunch a big Bavarian pretzel and kielbasa hash. Picked up a 4 pack of cans of the dry hopped pils to go. If you are a German beer fan or like to drink lighter session beers in a cool space- this is the place for you.“

“Taft's Columbus Brewpourium is in the Franklinton area, just across the river from downtown near Land Grant and BrewDog. It's in a super modern complex, across from other modern buildings going up. Seems like this area (which I wasn't previously familiar with) is gentrifying quickly. The space is nice, pretty big. Bar is in the middle, with tables on either side. Has a pizza oven, like the one in Cincy. There were about a dozen things on tap, plus a couple cans available on site. Then there are some coolers with six packs of cans to go. The food is good - I like their pizza. Beer is always reliable, too. Service was good, prices were as expected. All in all, it's a lot of the same as what the Cincy Brewpourium has, but in a completely different space and location. Worked for my family.“

Bar seating for 20 and plenty of tables. Known as a BBQ place. To go growlers are available. Full bar. No shirts available but plan on having them soon. Nice place to chill. Cheers!“

“A great little brewery that does only barrel aged sour ales. They had a great selection of aged sours and they were all really good. Nice taproom with a few tables by the bar and a back area with tables amidst an impressive collection of barrels. They also have video games and skeeball in the barrel romm - all free. A fun place to enjoy some really good beer.“

“A very small spaced bottle shop and bar located inside North Market. I didn't check out the bar section so I can't comment on that but the bottle section was very snug and seemed about 50% wine and 50% beer. Of the beer there were probably somewhere around 100 different bottles. Seemed to be a split between Belgian brews and locals, primarily sours and more "rare" locals. I was able to get Pretentious barrel house stuff which I didn't see much of elsewhere. 10% off if you buy at least 4 bottles. Almost all was 375ml or larger format. Definitely a bit more expensive. A good area to find a bite to eat as well.“

“Spires Social is in north Columbus, Ohio. This is in the Polaris mall area. Plenty of parking here. Newer building with 10 of there own taps going and 3 guests taps. Pop music on the radio. Nice inside with a dozen tables, I’m outside on a medium sized patio with the gas fireplace. Six tables plus extra chairs for all. Service was prompt and friendly. Meet the brewer and he’s a ice guy. “Came in kinda an odd time on New Year’s Day. Dreary day outside and that vibe followed me in. Few folks eating and lots of screens but no music and just kinda blah. The brew I had was ok the first two tap handles I ordered were tapped. Food looked ok but didn’t try.“

“Had no plans to stop by a beer store while in Columbus, but my brother's friend recommended this place. Corner spot that looks like every other beer store in Ohio. Sketchy and unassuming but totally awesome. About 6 coolers of singles and almost all Ohio locations save for about 1 door worth and separated by style. Bottles everywhere on shelves too. The shelved beer didn't have prices on them which made me less inclined to buy. Perhaps my biggest turn off. Staff was friendly but the guy working was very quiet and didn't seem to speak a lot of English. The prices were pretty steep but I'm glad I stopped. I would go back with a plan for specific things. It can be dangerous for an out of stater. Overall, enjoyed this place.“

“Taproom situated on 4th, in easy walking distance to a few other breweries, notably Seventh Son. Inside, the decor reminds me of an Ikea catalogue, very much a pale modern flatpack vibe. I wasn't a fan of the taproom itself but the staff were lovely and the beers were ace, a great standard overall. If murky IPAs, DIPAs and TIPAs are your bag then get down here“
