“This is a re-purposed downtown storefront with a large bar, inside seating and a big patio outside in season. About 12 of their own beers on tap, along with some guest taps, wine and liquor. All of the beers I have had here have been well made of in the unadventurous side. Full kitchen but I did not eat. Fun stop in Delaware.“

“Stopped here after a long drive. Very friendly, very attentive bartender who knew his beer and was excited to match us up with what we'd best like to drink. A decent selection of nice local stuff like Jackie O's. Didn't try food. Would definitely go back.“

“This place was rocking on a hot night. It was not air conditioned so most were drinking outside. Decent cold can selection with about 10 draft that were good. Buy cans at register and drink on premises if you want or buy draft from bartender. Would go back.“

“This place is on the corner in the town of Delaware, so the the street parking. Older building which has not been updated much. I browsed the selection and asked about a few potential beers, so service was good. What they had it seems was all available in singles. The selection is pretty good, but really I only ended up with two bottles. I would not go out of my way for this place, but if I was in Delaware I would stop by.“

“(Visited 07/2015, and a few times since): Restoration is one of the newer breweries in Delaware, located on Sandusky Street in the heart of downtown. Free and metered street parking is available in the surrounding block, as are a couple lots.

There is a small sidewalk patio out front. Inside opens to the brewpub, with a bar running along the right side, and high-top tables on the left. Wooden floors and exposed pipes at the ceiling (including one reading "BEER"). The brewery is in the back of the building. Hanging lights over the bar, and a large-screen TV behind it that cycles the beer list and other info.

Restoration has around 12 beers on tap, including a mix of year-round and seasonal offerings. Examples include Delicious Wit, Judgment IPA, Back Breaker Alt and Rush Porter. Samplers are available.

Service on my visits has been consistently good, including the brewer interactions. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the beer.

Food at Restoration is upscale pub grub, including wings, pretzels, sandwiches and sandwiches. Everything I have tried has been enjoyable.

Overall this is a nice addition to the beer scene in Delaware.“

“This is a small pave on the main drag on Delaware. Street parking is usually near by. They have a small menu of upscale pub grub. The beers are solid but not very varied. Worth a stop if you are in the area.“

“Nice small restaurant / brewpub in the main stretch of Delaware. Food was solid - I had chicken wings that were tasty and K liked her burger. Only have their own brew on tap (10 or so). We got a sampler then a pint of the ipa. Service was very nice. Fairly standard overall, but would check back in when in town.“

“Tried 5 of Staas offerings and they were all very poor. If I had brewed these on my own brewhouse, I’d be embarassed to serve them to friends. I had a hard time finishing my malt bomb dipa. Deleware is out of the way and this place is definitely not worth visiting.“

“This is a nice tap room with a dozen different and rotating Staas beers. No food, but they do allow carry in, delivery, and some food trucks. I had a few of the beers and they were both solid. On a Saturday this seems to be the place to come before you go out for the evening. Worth a stop.“

“(Visited 07/2013): Staas Brewing is another recent entry in the ever expanding list of central Ohio breweries. It is in downtown Delaware on West Winter off Sandusky. Street parking is available in the surrounding streets.

The brick building features a lot of windows on the front and side. Inside opens to the bar area and there is an adjacent room with additional seating. The taproom is a dark red and wood motif in the main room. The bar is along the left side and features unique tap handles and boards on either side listing the available beers. A pretty laid back vibe overall.

As far as the beers go, Staas has 12 taps with a few mainstays and a few seasonals. They also offer samplers. On my visit during the grand opening, the selection included Wildcat Sally Saison, Flood Water Stout, Presidential American IPA and a few others, plus a "Grand Opening" beer. All the beers were pretty middle of the road.

Service during the opening was very friendly, the owners were on hand and the staff was clearly learning the ropes but were friendly and appreciative of the crowd.

Staas does not serve food.

Overall this is a nice addition to the burgeoning beer scene in Delaware (both Barley Hopsters and 1808 are in walking distance), and despite none of the beers being standouts I will be visiting again to see how they progress.“

“I submitted a reservation on there website and got confirmation, however they told me I didn’t have a reservation when I arrived. The lady worked it out and got us the next table however. This place has something like 50 different drafts, lots of IPA right now. Atmosphere is tapas meets nice restaurant, exposed brick, bamboo table tops, colorful walls. There is some parking on the street, but it was completely full. Parking was just about to capacity also, however this was a Saturday night near prime time. Food was very good also. Next time we go to Polaris for shopping this place is not that far, I will be back.“

“Visited Barley Hopsters a few times in the last year. It is located conveniently near 1808 on Sandusky Street, and has more recently moved a couple blocks. Street parking is pretty accessible in the surrounding blocks.

The inside opens to a small bar area with a communal hightop table then another couple tables along the left. The bar is in the center with a large chalk board behind it listing the beers on tap. Behind that are beer coolers and shelves along the right side and rear of the store, as well as a small area devoted to homebrew supplies. There are also a couple couches and a TV for lounging.

Barley Hopsters has recently added around 15 taps for on site pints and growlers. Breweries like Deschutes, Founders, Thirsty Dog and Southern Tier. The bottled beer selection numbers in the 100s, and mixed singles are available. Most of the Ohio breweries that bottle are represented, including Elevator, CBC, Rockmill, Portsmouth, Hoppin’ Frog and Fat Heads to name a few. Many domestic craft breweries like Stone, Alesmith, Sierra Nevada, Three Floyds and Rogue. Imports from all over as well.

Service is consistently good at this store. The owner is usually there and knows his stuff, and is willing to order in pretty much anything he can get.

Overall this is a really good beer store to visit, and being right by 1808 makes for a vastly improved beer scene in Delaware.“

“Went early on a Saturday evening for dinner with my folks. As they seated us, there was a big "I heart IPA" on the chalkboard with about 10 different IPAs, including Ruination Anniversary and several other locals. Draft list was an awesome mix of local and national beers with beers from Ohio a few bucks cheaper than the other beers. The food was awesome- salad with mixed greens and pumpkin seeds with Gorgonzola followed by some great hummus and eggplant parm that was exceptional. For dessert were beignets with espresso and whipped cream along with a Maumee Bay Eclipse and a Founders Breakfast Stout. I will be back every time I am within an hour of this place.“

“Typical pub food in Delaware, OH. Decent looking patio with mostly BMC beers. Service was not wonderful- messed up our order then when I asked what local beers they had, she told me they had none, when the large sign behind her said "Great Lakes now on draft." When I asked her, she said they were out. Typical pub food with mostly fried fare and many TVs around.“

“Cool looking mellow place to have drinks and talk to friends in a normal tone. They just added 24 taps bringing the total to over 48. They tend to be IPA/Stout/big beer heavy with a couple of Lagers, Pilsners, Belgians available. Food is always excellent, by far the best in town, and on par with anything you will find in Central Ohio. Service is sometimes slow, but better than most places in Delaware. One of the places in Delaware making this a beer traveler destination town.“

“Great selection but they tend to run out of beers quickly since they don’t want excess inventory sitting around and they rotate aggressively. If you find out they have something you want you need to get in quick. They will also hold beers for you a few days if you call.“

“(Visited 02/2011 and a couple times since): 1808 (honoring the year Delaware, OH was founded) is located in downtown Delaware across from the history Strand Theatre on Winter off Sandusky. They have a decent size lot behind the restaurant but they are always busy so spots may be difficult to find.

The entrance opens to the bar area, with high table seating and a bar along the left wall. Through a door on the right is the restaurant seating area, which is open and does a good job balancing a modern feel with an older building complete with uneven, creaky floors.

1808’s beer selection is solid. They have recently expanded their tap list to 50, and the draught menu changes monthly and always includes local options like Columbus Brewing, Neil House etc. Other craft brewers are represented like Victory, Stone, Bell’s, DFH, Founders, and Southern Tier. A couple of imports like Hoegaarden and Wittekerke are available too. Monday is Happy Hour all day and features 1/2 off Draughts.

Service has been consistently good on my visits. We have never sat at the bar so my beer knowledge expectations were not as high, but the servers have done a good job speaking to the available beers and styles.

Food at 1808 has been very good. We went the first time for Valentine’s Day and their special menu and cocktails were awesome. I am also a big fan of their fried chicken.

Overall this place is highly recommended for Central Ohio beer lovers. I call it the "Bodega of the North".“

“Kind of a cross between Cheers and a sports bar. Friendly staff and clientele, dark lighting and lots of wood. Decent selection with some Great Lakes, Rogue, Sierra Nevada, and the usual suspects. Burning River was nice on tap. The food’s above average pub food, enjoyable while watching some hoops on the tube. Worth a visit if you’re in town.“

“(Visited 12/2005): This is one of the newest Old Bag of Nails locations, situated in downtown Delaware on Sandusky Street. There is usually street parking close by, and they have a small lot in the rear but make sure to pay attention to the signage. The interior is probably the biggest of all the locations. Part of the charm of the one in Worthington is how tiny and pubby it is. This is more of a restaurant feel, with the bar front and center with seating all around it, and another separate dining area to the rear. The space is big and open with TVs and some breweriana. The beer selection seems a little more macro oriented than the other locations too. Among the taps, Rogue Dead Guy is really the only standout. The bottled selection is decent with a lot of emphasis on UK imports. Service is pretty good, it was pretty slow on a Sunday afternoon and the bartender waited our table and was attentive and made recommendations. When asked why one item on the menu at other locations was not there he explained how they were phasing in more and more after their opening several months ago. The food here is stellar as always, assuming you like Fish & Chips as much as I do. All in all this may be the only beer spot in Delaware with microbrews, and despite not having the cozy pub feel of other locations it is worth trying out.“

“Make no doubts about it, if it’s after 11:00pm during the school year, this *is* a college bar, however it has one of (if not the best) beer selection in Delaware. The upstairs is open on Friday and Saturday nights, they have an interesting selection that differs from downstairs (although not as robust).“
