“Visited on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30 PM. This taproom is kind of difficult to find, so if you try to go, follow your GPS. It will take you to the road you need, but not directly there. The road is at the entrance to the Boeing location. Take that road, and in less than a quarter mile, you will see a sign for Homestead Beer on the right, which takes you to their parking lot. Huge parking lot! From the outside, the taproom looks like a warehouse, but inside they have a pretty large brewing area and a smaller taproom. Maybe 30-40 people can fit in there. There is a bar for 10-ish people and tables for the rest. Kind of cramped, but seemed to be working. Service was friendly and fast considering the amount of people in there. Flights of 4 are offered. I did struggle a bit with picking beers, but mostly because I'm not an IPA fan. Pretty heavily IPA loaded. The quality of beer offered is pretty high based on the ones I tried. Prices are decent. Worth checking out if nearby, but odds of being nearby are low. It is a bit out of the way in an industrial area. No food offered on my visit.“

“Homestead Beer Company is in Heath south of Newark and Granville on Irving Wick Drive. A little difficult to find because the building is very nondescript. There is a sign outside the entrance listing the businesses in that section, but the brewery itself has no signage that I saw. Parking is plentiful in front of the building.

Inside opens to a small tasting room that has high top tables past the entrance, and a small bar in the rear corner. The walls are painted bright white and there is a collection of growlers on shelves around the top of the walls. Behind the bar is a large board listing the available beers.

Homestead has 5 beers on tap plus all of their bottled beers available to go. On our visit the draught list included 1805 IPA, Tenpenny Ale, Barnraiser Pale, White Elephant Pils and a seasonal Stove Pipe Winter Porter. Sample sizes are available, and the beers were all decent.

Service on a slow Saturday afternoon was good. The bartender was engaging and happy to talk about the beers.

Homestead does not serve food but features food trucks regularly.

Overall this is a nice little brewery to visit outside of Columbus.“

“This brewery is tucked behind some kind of airfield. The maps are all wrong. Its Facebook page has the best map. It is an industrial space with a large brewery facility and a smallish tap room. When I was there they had had a nice flow of locals coming in to fill up growlers. The beers I sampled were all very good examples and they had some bottled beer for take away. No food but I understand they do sometimes get food trucks. I’m not sure it is a beer destination but it is a neat little stop if you are in the area.“

“Not a huge selection, but good enough if you have no other options, every now and then you can find a pleasant surprise in there“
