“I parked in the of Phoenix Brewing Company here in Mansfield Ohio. Plenty of parking. Place was crowded for a Wednesday early evening. About 30 people and a couple of bartenders in here. Lights are dim which makes the place pretty mellow. Music playing low on the speakers. I had a pint for 4.50. Which is a good price. T-shirts for sale and beers to go also I like the place and will make a return visit.“

“Visited on a Saturday evening around 8 PM. As some others mentioned, the building is pretty old. It kind of looks like a church from the outside. They have a big patio on the side and during my visit there was a food cart and a band in it. They were pretty busy as well, but most people seemed to want to be outside. I was able to get a spot at the bar with no issue. The draft list was pretty nice. Lots of variety and the quality of the beers was pretty high. Service was attentive and friendly. Mansfield is a bit out of the way to visit, but this brewery makes it worth while. They are doing great things here!“

“(Visited 07/2014): Phoenix Brewing Company is a relatively new place in Mansfield in a large brick building on Diamond Street. The building is 100 years old as of 2014. Parking is available on the street in front, and there is a lot as well.

There is a gated patio outside, and inside the exposed brick walls are retained. High tables on the ground floor immediately past the entrance, and the bar is in the rear. There is an upstairs as well. Windows let in a lot of light, and there is some framed artwork on the walls. There is a chalk board behind the bar listing the beers.

Phoenix carries 8 of their own beers plus a guest draught (Millersburg on my visit). The Phoenix beers included an IPA, APA, ESB, Wheat, Milk Stout, and Pils. A 4-beer sampler is available, and the beers were all decent.

Service on a weekend shortly after opening was good. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable.

Food is not served at the tap room but can be brought in.

All in all this is a worthwhile entry in the ever-growing list of Ohio breweries.“

“This new taproom in Mansfield is in an old brick building that used to be a mortuary. It is set up with several tables and a long bar, with plans for a beer garden outside very soon. There is no table service, so jockeying for a server’s attention is a pain when busy but they tried hard to keep pouring. On a Friday night the place was full of locals. They had four of their own beers on tap and had other Ohio guest taps (Rivertown, Millersburg and Brass Knuckle when I was there). There is no food but they allow carry in and I think the local pizza place will deliver. The IPA was a solid beer and I’m going back to catch the Ferryman if I can. They have a flight of four beers for $5 and do growler fills of their beers. This place is worth a stop if you are in the area.“
