60 /100 6955 PLAINFIELD RD. Meier’s is a Silverton institution, occupying this industrial-looking space just off Montgomery and Plainfield Roads for what seems like forever. Make no mistake, there’s not a lot to it - it’s a surprisingly roomy shop, with wood paneled walls, lots of wines, some cheeses and related items, and knick-knacks. But for RB people, the feature here is the cider. Kentucky Pete’s is the house label. They sell it in bombers, 4-packs, or - for the truly rating myrcenary - mixed 4-packs. Prices are fair. Worth a stop to get these and maybe to sample some snacks, too. |
68 /100 6955 PLAINFIELD RD. This is actually the oldest winery in Ohio, but has recently expanded into the. Cider game. They only have 3 ciders at this point (which is what my Selection review is based on, since wines don’t count), but their wine selection is pretty extensive. The atmosphere is nice (it’s much nicer than it looks from the road), and the. Service is great. They also do samples of everything, which is nice. No. Food, although they do have a nice cheese, crackers and grapes tray, and make their own bread and oil. Prices are as good as they come. Worth a stop, and a great place to take a date. |
