Leo’s Carry-Out (Beer Store)
1605 CO. ROAD #1
“It is worth going here to see if they have something new and exciting (sometimes they do) and that is about it. They are not on top of the freshness of beers that need to remain fresh (IPAs). Some of the staff is super friendly and some act like they don’t care at all. I have yet to meet someone that knows anything about beer. If you are in the area, it is worth stopping by to see what they have, but don’t make a habit of it.“

“Parking right in front of the place, but you have to back out to a busy road. I have been by three. The first time they had a much better selection and you were able to buy singles of anything in the store. They have some in refrigerated cases and some on the self. They now have a policy that you cannot buy singles. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place. Went by recently found only one bottle for me.“

Leo’s Carry-Out (Beer Store)
1605 CO. ROAD #1
“UPDATED RATING: Stopped by here not too long ago, if you are in the Tri-State area then you should definitely swing by here, as it is really the only place to find quality brews aside from Ashland (which is absurdly overpriced). Leo’s prices are on par with just about any place sans for some obnoxious bottle shops and the selection is fine for this area. Lots of Bells, Founders, DFH, Great Divide and Stone. With a good selection of imports, mainly German brews and some top quality Ohio beers. I picked up some JackieO’s and have gotten Hoppin’ Frog from here as well. Overall it’s a nice place to stop by but no means a definitive beer store. This is definitely the best place in the tri-state area. Leo’s has quite an impressive selection of beer that will take more than a few trips for even the most seasoned beer enthusiast. They carry a wide range of German beers and some of England’s best as well including 1845, Weihenstephaner, and Ayinger, along with Norway’s Nøgne Ø. As for stateside brews, Avery’s Czar Imperial Stout, Great Divide, Two Brothers, and dogfish head.“

“If you are in the tri-state area looking for beer you haven’t tried yet, this may be the place to go. While it doesn’t have a large selection of truly rare beers, there are a few hard finds. Leo’s carries a few local brews, quite a few seasonals and harder-to-find macros as well as anything you could find at your corner store. Best of all, they will sell individual beers so it’s not necessary to buy a six-pack just to try something new. Worst of all, they only take cash.“

“(Visited 12/2007): Leo’s is located right off route 52 in South Point which is a few miles from Ashland. They have a small parking lot in front of the store. The store is pretty expansive inside and has a convenience store look about it. The beer is located in the rear of the store and is divided by a cooler section and a shelf section. Leo’s has a pretty good selection of beer. Regional beers like Hoppin’ Frog, Thirsty Dog, GLBC and Bell’s are mingled with micros like Stone, Alesmith, Victory, etc. There is also a pretty good selection of imports divided by Country (Russia, England, Belgium etc). Some beers are available in singles too. It is evident though that some beers are not turned over as quickly as they should be (a telltale coat of dust). Service here is reasonably good, the owner asked if he could help me with anything. I have to ding them a bit for not taking credit cards though. All in all this is a good spot to hit on the OH/KY/WV border. “
