“I hate this place for groceries, but find myself here pretty regularly for beer, wine, liquor. It's convenient, has a solid craft bottle selection, mix six packs, small bar area with 10 or so taps. Only minor gripe is that they have minimal good craft in the cooler and it's always the same boring stuff. Great that you have three floyds, but maybe pop an Alpha King on ice for me, huh?“

“Despite 5oz pours and pints, this is basically a to go growler feeling station. 60 beers on tap, really great selection and decent prices. I get the negative reviews as the staff isn’t exactly warm, but I had no issues. I will for sure be back to get some harder to find local tick growlers.“

“This is one of those "don’t poop where you eat" ratings that I typically just avoid. It’s our neighborhood shop and we visit often. The selection is great. The growler fill setup is efficient (yes, you have to use one of theirs, but it’s nice not to have to worry about washing empties thoroughly). The samplers of anything on the menu is really nice. The 3-7pm prices are ok - a little on the high side. The service is brisk and always pleasant. There are a few caveats however: the prices for pints outside of the 3-7pm 1/2 price range are crazy. We rarely stop in on date nights because of it. It may be their intent to focus on growlers at that point and avoid becoming a bar type bar - but it’s just an odd way to go about it. They also have semi-regular events and tap takeovers that are so packed that I avoid unless it’s something I’m willing to stand awkwardly in a crowd to drink. So... as a growler shop and a place to sample the best craft beer in Columbus on a weekend afternoon - this place is top notch. As a bar, not so much. I choose to rate it as a growler shop.“

“Nice place in shopping plaza in Upper Arlington. Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon. Decent selection, especially when it comes to Ohio beer. Some one-off and different Fat Heads beers along with many usual suspects from national craft brewers. Their growler of the day special was cool, my biggest gripe is that they will not fill outside growlers and gave a BS reason why ("they sanitize theirs"). Service was pretty good and prices were somewhat reasonable.“

“Pretty typical Whole Foods setup. A cooler row with locals and standard crafts. The rarest thing was a Boulevard - Sierra Nevada collaboration I’d never seen. The mix six section is fairly limited. There is also a bar area with a handful of taps and presumably growler fills.“

“This Whole Foods anchors one end of the Shops On Lane mall, just west of OSU campus and 315. Parking is plentiful all around the building.

The interior is smaller than most Whole Foods locations. The beer section is toward the rear of the store. There is also a bar/coffee shop called The Social that has seating and a few bar stools and metal top bar, as well as a fireplace and windows with shelves full of growlers, of which they fill both 32oz and 64oz.

As for the beer selection, there are a couple hundred brands from breweries from Ohio like Great Lakes, Columbus Brewing, Rust Belt and Hoppin’ Frog, as well as other craft brewers like Stone, Dogfish Head, Deschutes and Lagunitas. Imports from Belgium, Canada, Germany and elsewhere. As for The Social, they have around 8 taps with beer from Jackie O’s, Brothers Drake, Founders and Epic. Flights of 4 beers are available, and there are tastings weekly.

Service at Whole Foods is fairly consistent and good both at the bar and at check out from the grocery side. Our bartender was friendly and attentive, and was familiar with the beers. We did not have any food on our visit. However the menu looked similar to other locations.

All in all this is a pretty good spot for the immediate UA area, both in terms of the beer store and tap/growler selection.“

“This place has 60 craft beers on tap. Great! But no service, no ambiance, and outrageous prices. Happy hour (before 7PM), the prices are fair. Afterward? Expect to pay $6 to $10 for a pint. Really?“

“Stopped in early Sunday evening. Plenty of parking as it is in a sort of strip mall type area. They have 60 taps of craft beer only with plenty of the usual suspects as well as several one offs. Plenty of locals making an appearance, which is cool. There’s a sit down area if you want to have a pint or two instead of a growler. Pricing is pretty nice. Glass and all I walked out of there for less than $20. My only gripe is that they wouldn’t fill the growlers I brought with me. It would be nice if they did.“

“I like this place! I really like this place. How can you not. They serve beer, just beer, and good beer. It is also to go beer. So what if they can be a little pricey, a place like this needs to stay in busines so that we can get good draft to drink at home. Sit back and enjoy. It’s not a restaurant it’s a place to pick up 64 oz of beer. Yes it’s cramped, yes maybe the employees that don’t own the place don’t always know what type of beer it is, bu if you are ordering from this place you should know what type of beer you are ordering. Craft Beer for Life!!!“

“Right in my backyard. Recently opened in a strip mall. Space is limited in the front. I guess there is additional seating in the back. But no visiblity to that. Ambiance is virtually non-existant. No food served, no wall signs, no tv’s that I saw, no games, no outdoor landscape, just a long tap row, with all the same wood handle. Above the tap row is two digital screens with the tap list and which tap number it goes with. Additional information on that list is, ABV and cost per growler, pint and 5oz. pour. I paid $18.00 for a growler of somewhat hard to find Stone beer. Thought the price was a little high. List included some one off’s, but also some easy-to-find beer. Service was ok. The girl filling my growler did not know what type of beer I was ordering (she said amber ale...wrong). Overall, this place has potential, but not that impressed. Very crowded for a Thursday 530pm time and cramped.“

“The Daily Growler recently opened in the Upper Arlington area of Columbus on Fishinger and Riverside in a plaza. There is a fairly good sized parking lot but it has been pretty tough to find parking from what I hear.

The inside opens right to the walk-up line to the bar where growlers, pints and 5oz samples are ordered. On the right side are some communal benches and smaller tables. There is additional seating in the rear. Very bright inside and no-frills, kind of gives the impression like a fast food restaurant where they want you in and out. Large digital boards behind the bars list the beers by number, which corresponds to a number tag above the row of tap handles.

The Daily Growler has 60 beers on draught (sometimes a rootbeer) from Ohio breweries like Hoppin’ Frog, Columbus Brewing, Great Lakes, Weasel Boy and Elevator, as well as domestic microbreweries like Ballast Point, Oskar Blues, Revolution, North Coast and Stone. Some imports as well such as Chouffe. There is also a daily growler deal where a certain brand’s growler price is reduced significantly.

Service is pretty good, again all at the walk up bar where they are trying to move through the constant line.

Food is not available here but you can order in.

Overall this place has stormed out of the gate and is introducing a lot of people in the area to what a growler is, which is cool. Not designed to be a place you sit back and drink all evening watching football, and I am fine with it. Interesting model that appears to be succeeding.“

“The beer selection and prices, especially during happy hour, can NOT be beat! Love the owner and his friend who are working their butts off to make this happen. Bare bones, no frills, have a great beer, talk and play cards kind of place, but clean and very friendly. No big TVs, no fancy tap handles, no fancy decor...and you don’t pay for it either. Nice!!“

“Right around the corner from home...step up from the regular Giant Eagles. Food stations, good selection of seafood, meats, cheese, etc. Good organic selection. Beers have multiple areas for selection. Seasonals, bombers, coolers, and shelf. Overall a good selection and a very nice grocery store. Prices are fair“

“Mom and pop grocery store, so the ambiance is terrific. Old style grocery carts, small aisles, amish style breads and desserts. This store is practically in my backyard so I am somewhat partial. Smaller store the value takes a hit. The beer selection is rather good. Got some belgians, some hard to find craft beers, and some good local brew. Overall a good store if you are in the area, but do not go out of your way.“

“Has the ambience of a grocery store because it is one. The beer is in the back left corner of the store. They have a small selection of national craft and Belgian and German selections with nothing too exotic or rare. I wish they had more local stuff. They do have some bombers but you can’t make your own sixer. They also have six taps for growler fills.“

“This place doesn’t have the largest beer set but the selection is varied and the beers they sell are smart picks. Large craft brew selection with varied Belgian and specialty bottles. Six taps are located behind the cheese counter. The taps are for growler fills only. The focus of the taps are local, draft only or is a good example of a particular style.“

“A pleasant enough pub in the TGIFridays - Bennigans - Applebees vein. Food’s good, nice selection of micros and imports (although nothing really earth shattering). Nice service.“

“I was really surprised for the small beer section, but a large quantity of beer, including rare and craft brews. The guy taking invetory seemed interested in my interest in beer and mentioned if he had more room to stock more craft and rare beers, he would. I will go back.“

“Stopped in on a whim about a month ago and found a surprisingly good selection of beer. Pretty standard Ohio fare, didn’t see anything new, but it does make a nice alternative to all the stores that everyone already knows about. I spotted a few special releases that had all but disappeared elsewhere. It doesn’t stack up to whole foods or the anderson’s, but it’s a nice place.“

“This is a natural-style grocery store close to OSU campus. It has a fine selection of microbrews. I picked up a few Three Floyds selections along with an AleSmith Speedway Stout. Not a large amount of beer but an interesting eclectic selection.“
