14 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST The service is poor and the people who work here are not nice. They just stand there and act cool. This is the worst liquor shop in Norman. If you ask them for any thing they act like you are stupid. I went there for Grappa and the girl said she didn't know what it was and why did I need it

78 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Big liquor store with wide selection of beers. No craft beers in cold. Singles selection is pretty nice. The best beer store in OKC area. |
84 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST One of my two favorite liquor stores for buying beer in Norman. Easily one of the best beer selections in Oklahoma. They claim to sell anything that’s distributed to the state, though that doesn’t always hold true. 95% of the time they have what I’m looking for if it’s available in Oklahoma, though. For the selection, they have great prices. Plus they have a loyalty card that gives you 2.5% back in store credit from every purchase. It may not seem like much, but it gets me free beer every once and a while. The staff is all very helpful and a few have pretty good beer knowledge. The owner definitely knows his stuff. There’s also a bargain-bin shopping cart at the entrance that occasionally carries decent beers at a nice discount. Their 12 oz singles selection is very small, but they’ve always been happy to break up four and six packs for me and sell them as singles whenever I want to try something new. As far as I can tell, anything is available as a single if you ask. Overall a reliably consistent liquor store with friendly staff and as a good of a beer selection as you will find anywhere in Oklahoma. |
70 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Norman (Restaurant) 330 ED NOBLE PARKWAY I was both surprised and impressed. BJ’s had nearly a dozen different styles from across the spectrum, and from the few I tried, they were great for brewhouse beer. Their stout and brown ale, particularly, surprised me for the quality. Plus, both were only $6. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food tasty. All around a good experience. Much better than I expected from a chain establishment. |
78 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Definitely a place worth checking out. I popped in out of curiosity and was met with a warm welcome by the staff. The selection’s pretty strong for Oklahoma. Plenty of stuff from Prairie etc. featured. I was pretty damn lucky with the timing of my visit, as they had just gotten a few 3 liter bottles of Prairie’s anniversary beer in. The only criticism I have is their lack of cold storage space for beer. Overall, a recommended spot. |
70 /100 Sprouts Farmers Market - Norman (Grocery Store) 559 W MAIN ST Cool grocery store. Very clean and the food selection and quality is awesome. Around 25 different trail mixes you can scoop and take with you. Produce looks like it was just picked this morning. Just lots of neat stuff. Beer selection is surprisingly basic considering the rest of the store. A few locals and micros but nothing spectacular. I’d go back for the food in a heartbeat though. |
78 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Very nice store. Large, clean, and inviting store. Great selection had a few brews I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Will definitely be a regular stop for me when I’m in Oklahoma. |
88 /100 Joe’s Place (Beer Store) 1330 ALAMEDA ST My go to place in Norman. Best selection of bombers around town. |
70 /100 Das Boot Camp (Restaurant) 229 E MAIN ST A some what sterile German restaurant with a bar in the back. Service was quick and server was friendly. They have 6 of their own beers on tap. The German food they serve is quite good. Prices are very affordable as well. A cheaper option to the actual Royal Bavaria location. |
66 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST Nice clean store right off of the main street. Decent selection but nothing very exciting. Prices seemed good and the staff was friendly. Nothing outstanding to write about. The store on Main St. seemed to have a much larger selection. |
72 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Nice, large, clean store in Norman. Seemed to have the majority of Oklahoma beers in stock. One employee was most helpful in finding locals and the history of craft brewing in Oklahoma. Enjoyed my visit. |
72 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. I try to stop in here as they seem to have one of the better set ups for craft beer in the OKC area. The staff doesn’t appear to be overly knowledgeable on beer itself but happy to help me find desired beers. Selection is towards the top end of OKC selection. Prices are competitive as well. IMHO one of the better liquor stores in the area. |
76 /100 607 W. BOYD STREET The place is a bit hidden off the road so keep your eyes open. Looks like a nice outdoor seating area with a rather small inside that is half bar half dining space. Service was fine but they seemed overall distracted. 7 coaches taps plus others mainly of craft. Didn’t try the food on my visit. Prices were quite low especially at 2 a pint from 3-6 for coaches beers. |
72 /100 The Abner Ale House (Bar) 121 EAST MAIN STREET A long narrow pub with wood everywhere and a single TV. Bartender was nice and knowledgeable. Appears to be about 20 taps with half Oklahoma beers and the rest a combination of large US macros and imports. Probably something like 50-100 bottles. Prices seem a touch higher compared to other area bars. Did not try the food on my visit. |
20 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. The employees, manager included are so rude and not helpful at all. Don’t bother wasting your time.
We used to do business with them and pay their inflated prices for the selection.
Somehow, we just cannot get past the less than knowlegable employees and total lack of concern. There are much better stores in Norman. |
44 /100 The Abner Ale House (Bar) 121 EAST MAIN STREET I would love to give these guys a better rating, but they often don’t have many of the beers listed on their menu. Vibe is good though. With a little bit of attention, this place could be great. |
38 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST This is not the place to go if you want to get a variety of singles as they only offer the cheapest beers in their single selection. Much of the product is out of date - so check the dates! Have found better prices at three different stores within driving distance. Often messy and hard to find things. |
100 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST Perhaps the best selection in the STATE, not just Norman. Prices are easily the best in town. Seem to get seasonals before everyone else, too. |
74 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Let me say this place has the best selection I have seen in the Norman/OKC area by far. Huge singles selection and nice variety of local special releases. Picked up a Rye-on-Rye, Cuvee 4, and a Marshall Cucuy. Didn’t think the prices were too high as stated in some other reviews. Must stop if traveling through Norman. |
70 /100 607 W. BOYD STREET An old house across from the OU campus that has been converted into a bar. 7 Coach beers on tap, a fewil regional beers, and some nationally available beers on tap. Pizza was OK for an Oklahoma bar. Tap selection was a little disappointing. Not bad for Norman, but would rather go to Tapworks, Republic, or the McNellies in OKC. |
74 /100 The Abner Ale House (Bar) 121 EAST MAIN STREET Pretty cool place on Main Street. Lots of wood and some cool booths. About 25 taps and nice bottle selection. Had chips and salsa with a Nogne DIPA. Worth a stop if in Norman area. |
66 /100 Switzer Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 800 W LINDSEY ST A better selection than you would think for a small store. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. |
74 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Norman (Restaurant) 330 ED NOBLE PARKWAY Pretty good place I enjoy the food and their brews. I just wish it wasn’t so busy all the time. |
70 /100 Corkscrew Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 2319 WEST LINDSEY STREET Not a whole lot of beer selection mostly a liquor store but the staff is friendly and entertaining |
56 /100 Joe’s Place (Beer Store) 1330 ALAMEDA ST A decent selection with good prices and they usually have good specials. The staff on the other hand is very unfriendly |
64 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST They have the best prices not as much selection as the store down the street but the staff is friendly and helpful. |
80 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. The best selection you will find in Norman and probably OK. Prices are a bit higher than the others but you will find a lot of stuff you can’t find in other stores. The staff is not as good as it used to be. |
26 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. This place is wide open with not a lot to it. They look and give you the impression they’re the biggest in town with the best selection and best prices but when you are looking for something new and the staff doesn’t even know what you’re talking about it makes it hard to go back. And I way overspent there as I found out later! By a lot! |
96 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST As previously mention its a little cramped. And although it’s a tight space they still strive to carry everything available in the state unlike other stores that have the space. The staff, especially a couple of the guys specifically, really know their beer and you can always trust their judgement! Prices are the best around! They’re always right on top of new beer and make it easy to find! This is a must stop for beer shopping. |
82 /100 Corkscrew Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 2319 WEST LINDSEY STREET Stopped in last night to check out the selection. Great representation of Oklahoma beers, as well as sine labels that we don’t get in TX. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. |
86 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Very good selection. Wall of singles. Prices are pretty good (but much cheaper than Cache Rd. store in Lawton). I would rate as the top store in the OKC area. |
82 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Norman (Restaurant) 330 ED NOBLE PARKWAY A very good place to drink a variety of good beers, both brewed on premise and Belgium ($12 for a large Chimay Blue). No hassle if you want to drink and order food later. Fantastic pizza! |
72 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Closest good store to the border with huge wall of singles and bombers, euro section is smaller but have tons of local /regional selections, check the end cap specialty stand for a few more |
74 /100 The Abner Ale House (Bar) 121 EAST MAIN STREET Very cool hangout with a nice atmosphere. The food is good but not great. The beer selection is great, but a little pricey (they can afford to be in Oklahoma). The menu could be more extensive. The Monday pint night is a nice feature, but get there early.
|
84 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST I love how small this store is in size but how they have a great selection. It’s really crammed in there, and that’s kind of charming.
They have a great selection of beer, wine, and single malt scotches and the staff is knowledgeable on all of them.
Best pricing in Norman. |
46 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Norman (Restaurant) 330 ED NOBLE PARKWAY I’ve had two bad experiences at this restaurant. The service is sometimes horrible. I’ve spent up to 2 hours here, not by choice. The food is not good. When I recieved broccoli as a side that was uncooked, the waiter took it back to the kitchen and zapped it in the microwave, then told me that he did. The beer are mediocre at best and the bar has very limited knowledge. |
66 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Norman (Restaurant) 330 ED NOBLE PARKWAY Your average BJs. Pretty much the same beers that they had at the El Paso, TX location last September. Food was good as usual. Decent place to stop in brewery starved Oklahoma. Good place to have a beer and some food. |
98 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. I’ve watched the selection at this store grow and grow. Regional and craft brews are strongly represented with Boulevard, Choc/ Pete’s Place, Rogue, Avery, etc. Not to mention plenty of imports from Belgium, Mexico, UK, France. No hurry and plenty of space. Plus prices are about the best they can be. I think it’s really everything you could want out of an Oklahoma seller, although some brewers won’t ship to our state. Strike up a conversation and see where it can lead you. The staff loves to help you find what you want. |
72 /100 The Abner Ale House (Bar) 121 EAST MAIN STREET Owned and operated by the people that own the other McNellie’s locations. The inside was clean and crowded on a Wednesday night. The selection was on par with the other locations, but they were missing a few (namely the good Oklahoma beers). Lots of bottles. The Interesting mix of college students, professors, intellectuals. Most of the beers are pretty common for good beer bars in the area, but I’ll be back anyways. |
84 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Norman (Restaurant) 330 ED NOBLE PARKWAY A great place to eat and drink. A good selection of home brewed beers. Good food. Good Atmosphere. A=Great place to go. |
98 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. My favorite place to go and get beer. Huge selection of singles. Huge selection of six packs. I guess for Oklahoma they have everything you can get. Once I started going here for beer, I haven’t been anywhere else. |
68 /100 Joe’s Place (Beer Store) 1330 ALAMEDA ST Great selection, among the best in Oklahoma. The prices are decent, but the staff isn’t overly helpful. They get in new releases more quickly than any other store in Norman. |
68 /100 Switzer Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 800 W LINDSEY ST A nice place with a great owner. The prices are slightly higher than many stores in Norman, but the selectionof singles is better and it’s the best liqour store in walking distance of campus. The owner Aaron is a really nice guy who will try to find what you want if he doesn’t already have it.
|
78 /100 Spirit Shop (Beer Store) 1117 GARVER ST They have a good selection, good prices, and if they don’t have they will get it for you. |
46 /100 Joe’s Place (Beer Store) 1330 ALAMEDA ST i didnt like this place one bit. organization was horrible. staff was not friendly, nor even asked if they could help me find anything. i will not be returning at all. cache road in lawton is way better than this place. |
86 /100 Joe’s Place (Beer Store) 1330 ALAMEDA ST Very good beer store. Full selection of what is available in Oklahoma. Decent prices. |
78 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. Update:
They now have an excellent selection of singles including locals. Some of them are a little hard to find for the area as well.
Old Rating:
A good place to stop in town for a 6-pack of beer. A decent selection, but not as good as Joe’s Place. Prices are pretty good. I found that singles are harder to come by here compared to other places in town though. |
48 /100 Joe’s Place (Beer Store) 1330 ALAMEDA ST I went here with some friends after a game it was cool |
36 /100 Cellar Wine and Spirits - Norman (Beer Store) 555 W. MAIN ST. I had to revise my review based on a recent experience. The Cellar tends to charge more for beer ala carte than they do in a case and on top of this two different cashiers have tried overcharging me on two different occasions. I get the feeling that they are greedy. When I didn’t want to use my debit card because I had cash in the car and went out to get it, one of the staff gave me a dirty look. Sorry, Cellar. I won’t be back. EVER. Douchebags. |
74 /100 607 W. BOYD STREET The best selection of beers in Norman. The patio is great year round thanks to heaters. The beer selection is awesome for Oklahoma. The Coach’s beers are very good quality. They also have the best pizza I’ve ever had for cheap! I’ve been here way too often lately because they have Anchor Old Foghorn Barleywine on tap. Unbelievable!! |
