12 /100 Bootleggers Discount Liquor (Beer Store) 103 NORTH KERR BOULEVARD ow I’ve bought a lot of alcohol in a lot of different places, but bootleggers has got to be my worst shopping experience doing so. Normally I buy out of town where I go to school or work, but Sallisaw has a pretty bad selection, so I stop here. When the store first opened I had no problems at all (the name has changed since then. New owner?) But lately when I even walk in the place I get these terribly rude women standing over me squaking about my ID. I will willing hand over my ID when I’m making a purchase no problem, but if they are going to make a big deal about it why not have a bouncer at the door. A gentleman younger than me walked in after I did and the girls didn’t ask for his ID until he was checking out. Why? Mysteries. They asked if I would like to report my experience to the manager, who was not in. I did not.
Until I hear them talking a bunch of mess about laws, and they don’t know where I’m from but round these parts they do it this way, and how I’m being a dick because I won’t show my ID until I’m checking out. I ask for the managers number at this point and in a surprising turn of events one of the rudes has been promoted in the 5 minutes I’ve been in the store. I pay for my last purchase here and walk out while they continue berating a paying customer and follow me out to my car.
Seriously the beer selection isn’t that great, I’d rather go to the old lady on the other side of town with a smaller selection where I won’t be talked down to for patronizing the establishment. |
32 /100 Bootleggers Discount Liquor (Beer Store) 103 NORTH KERR BOULEVARD I stopped by here when I was in OK for the Wife’s family reunion. I have never seen such a horrible beer selection. Oddly enough to my amusement, no Bus, Miller or Coors....interesting. They may of had 15 different beers here. A couple of imports such as Heineken, then some Shiner Bock (lots of Shiner Bock, lol). Now they did have some cheap beers I never heard of called Pig’s eye, Lost Lakes and Minnesota Brewing, only $3.69 a sixer.....from the taste, priced just right. But mainly this is a liquor store, but that selection didn’t seem large either compared to what I normally see. There was 1 good beer here which I was shocked to see and that was the Fort Collins Chocolate Stout. Talking about sticking out like a sore thumb. The blond lady behind the counter was very polite. |
