“Historic old tavern has a very good changing draft beer selection with above average pub food. Decent bottle selection as well. You can do a flight of four draft beers for just $5.75. The Conshohocken Chocolate Crunch Porter was outstanding. All draft beer prices are very reasonable. No waitress service, but otherwise a great place for reasonably priced brews and pub grub.“

“**** No Longer a Smoking Bar!!!! Still only 21 and older allowed ....... This is the place to stop by if you want to grab a beer in the burb’s .... 5 time winner of Philly Beer Scene best in the burbs!! The website is always updated on whats on tap and in bottles and you can get emailed updates on what was just tapped and what it replaced. Inside the bar they keep updated boards on what is on tap and bottles as well. The food is mostly pub grub, but its all quality and good stuff. Most nights the owner Jeff is around and he is very down to earth and knows his beers. The bartenders are knowledgable about beer and serve in proper glassware. Firkin nights and other beer events, pool tables and plenty of TV’s to keep you occupied. The Aleiens (http://www.aleiens.com/) homebrew club meets every last Tuesday of the month upstairs. All in all it is a clean, well run old Inn that has a good crowd, an owner that cares and a great selection of craft brews. “

“Local dive bar turned beer bar. They have a good selection on tap of mostly locals, but a few from excellent breweries across the country. Food looked good, but did not have any during my visit. Service at a busy bar was good and kept up. Parknig is tough but worth the troubles.“

“Foobooz top 50 bars in Philly, Best of Philly Beer Scene, rare beers & cheap prices. Food is standard pub food, but well done. They don’t have waitress service like the last reviewer states, but it’s a bar not a restaurant. The events are a can’t miss.“

“First off, the outside leads you to believe that this place is a bit nicer than average on the inside. It’s not! I don’t know if the norm is not having waitress’, but when we were there, you had to go to the bar for everything. A really good beer selection, not just on bottle, but also on tap. The food was ehh. Overall, for the beer, it was good. It’s no Capones or Issac Newtons.“

“This ranks up there with one of the best bars i’ve ever been to. The selection of beers 217 drafts so far this year and 525 drafts last year give you and idea of the beers that go throughout this place. The bottle section is always changing with the seasons and you can find some rare bottles here. The website is always up to date for the latest beers on draft and bottles. The pricing for the bottles and draft can’t be beat in the Philly area. The food is typical bar food never had a bad meal but nothing fancy either. The only draw back to the place is that it’s a smoking establishment some nights are worst then other but they try their best to have the fans on. Overall if you are in the Philly area 20 min. north of the city it’s well worth the trip if you are in to good beer and friendly conversation.“

“I’ve been here twice when I have been on trips to PA and both times have been great. I love the vibe of the place. Just a typical tavern feel to it. The selection is off the chain both on tap and in bottles and they are priced really well. The service is knowledgeable and quick. I had food the first time there and it is your typical bar food. I see no wrong in it. This is definitely one of the best bars in the Philly area and probably the best in the suburbs.“

“Jeff knows whats going on with the craft beer scene. Great beer selection, taps change frequently and updates are available via email or twitter, also beermenus when they put something new on draft. Bottle selection is great and expensive bottles can usually not be found otherwise or for less. Staff is knowledgeable, and happy hour and Mondays pricing specials can’t be beat. Edit: No Smoking allowed inside but no one under 21 is allowed still.“

“This is my favorite place to get some great beers. Firkins monthly, cask engine, several rare beers in bottle and draft. met the owner, he has the most reasonable draft prices around being a beer geek himself. Had a free taste of utopia when it was released from this guy and he makes sure ALL of his bartenders know the beers and the glassware which they go in. Very solid craft beer bar. There is alot of the young macro crowd and it can get loud.“

“Awesome owner named Jeff who really takes care of his patrons. Helped drain a firkin of Weyerbacher Old Heathen on 3/14/09. Their selection isn’t huge, but quality greatly greatly makes up for quantity. They’ve got some great brews on tap including Founders Breakfast Stout and Weyerbacher Heresy. Had a great experience trying a ton of different brews (seriously check out their sampler) and talking beer with Jeff, Bob from Weyerbacher, and anyone else who stopped by our table to chat. Only complaint is the cloying cigarette smoke overpowering the nostrils.“

“The Hulmeville inn is a excellent bar. This location originally opened as a hotel back in the days of George Washington. Excellent place to enjoy microbrews and imports,.“
