86 /100 Harvey Washbangers (Bar) 1802 TEXAS AVE I kid u not. A bar and a laundromat become one. Put your undies in the dryer and head to the bar. Make a note of the dryer # as the light board there will show if it is still running. All Texas craft beers, and they know how to talk about them. Limited menu but it’s all good. Friendly. Great service. Light hearted folks. Fun place, at least as long as Michael was in charge. Later the owner, Peter, came in and felt it necessary to make smartasst political remark. Suffice it to say... We differ. Downer. |
60 /100 Twin Liquors Marketplace College Station (Beer Store) 1915 TEXAS AVE S, STE S Not a bad store, really, but it has everything Spec’s has and nothing more. The interior is nice, and the staff is helpful but the selection doesn’t stand out. Worth a stop for a possible Easter egg but Spec’s has the beers and more. |
74 /100 Spec’s Liquor - College Station (Beer Store) 1729 TEXAS AVE Great selection considering the swill nature of the area. Saw some stuff here that I haven’t seen in Houston yet. Great selection of cheeses, meats, and all sorts of other fancy foods. A must stop if you’re in Aggieland. |
82 /100 O’Bannon’s Taphouse (Bar) 103 BOYETT ST. Although the Dixie Chicken has the nostalgia market covered in College Station, O’Bannon’s Taphouse is the bar where one will find the most diverse selection of beer (at a bar) in Bryan/College Station. Conveniently located just north of the Texas A&M Campus, O’Bannon’s Taphouse is the go-to place for those who are eager to expand their beer palate, with no fewer than 75 beers from around the world in bottles and on tap.
Unfortunately, their distribution is limited to what can be found in Texas, but the atmosphere is wonderful, they take good care of all draft lines and any time you stroll in, you’re bound to hit some drink special. |
42 /100 Cost Plus World Market - College Station (Grocery Store) 1450 S. TEXAS AVENUE Fly isn’t gonna like this, but I don’t care. It’s College Station, and College Station needs all the help it can get where its beer scene is concerned. If you find yourself spending the night in this town and want some halfway decent beers (including Chimay), stop here. No, the selection will not blow your mind that’s not the point. The point is, this is College Station and they sell halfway decent brews at this store. So there. Deal with it. |
