“Stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but open lot near them helps with parking congestion. In the middle of an industrial area, so lots of rusty old building items as you enter the brewery. Plenty of seating inside and out, was nice enough to enjoy the outside. They serve flights, was able to not spill anything on the trek back to our table. Food trailer is outside opposite the bar. Serving staff was able to manage the waiting lines, the wait was short. Gave time to read the menu and know what we wanted. Worth a stop if in the area.“

“Big barn type of space. Mostly street parking, can be a little bit a walk. Had bbq and crafts things for sale. I liked the overall feel, inside but wide open. Typically has live music on Saturdays. 8 beers on tap when I went. Flights of 5 available. Good ambiance, would be easy to kill an afternoon. Beers were decent to pretty good. Nothing awesome but enjoyable. Recommended beer combos on the wall as well is a nice touch.“

“Visited here while in town on a business trip. Small liquor store in a suburban strip small. Don’t let the small size deter you. Wide selection of craft bombers and sixers, many locals, lots of hard to find stuff. Since I was only in town for two nights and had a lot of work to do, I was just looking for a few singles. They had a few, mostly from broken six packs, but enough to keep me stocked, Staff was helpful, gave me some recommendations of bars/restaurants in the area and also pulled out a rare Prairie from behind the counter to see of I was interested. If in the area, a great place to stock up.“

“The taps were down (all except Guinness nitro) which the bartender says happens more often than not. The Wi-Fi router was broken so no Wi-Fi. The bottle selection contained a decent amount of locals with some great national brews as well. I had the baked brie which was quite good and have had the shepherd’s pie which was also good. I go out for drafts as i can buy bottles in the store for way cheaper so i marked down about that and the fact that the Wi-Fi wasn’t working. Hence the low sore. Cheers!“

“Was able to get out to the Saturday tour. It was a fun, informative and packed event. So many people it was hard to move, but not often you see this much interest in a tour. $10 gets you the tour, glass, and as many samples until the kegs are gone. The beer is very fresh and delightful. Well worth the trip.“

“July 2013: Felt the need to re-rate because Choice Beverage has improved over the past year. The selection has increased dramatically and it now rivals almost any store within 20 miles. The owner also now makes trips to to Houston occasionally to pick up beer not typically available in Dallas (Fort Bend Brewing and Karbach off the top of my head). The store also does a good job of using social media to let people know what beers are in.

May 2012: Probably the best bottle shop in McKinney. This place doesn’t have the selection of the top Plano stores, but it has most of the new releases and the staff is helpful.“

“Nice little pub located on the square in downtown McKinney. Owned by the same people who own the Fillmore in Plano, so if you have been there you pretty much can imagine what this place is like. Nice selection of 15 taps, with a good number of local beers. I was there when the place was not very crowded and found the bartender helpful. The food menu is also very nice. I had a roasted beef sandwich with horseradish and au jus that was outstanding. My order was quickly taken and the food was delivered quickly. Located about 100 feet from Square Burger, so there is no reason you can’t hit both places in one night.“

“Typical pub interior, lots of dark wood. We sat at our table for at least 15 minutes waiting on someone to help us and they weren’t even that busy. Pedestrian selection though they sometimes have a gem or two. Go to Square Burger instead if you are in the area.“

“Located out in McKinney, this can be a drive for those closer to Dallas proper. Tours most Saturdays - can’t beat german style brews right from the source. The owner Dennis does many of the tours himself and is quite entertaining.“

“Franconia is a small brewery, and the brewmaster, who is from Germany, is very hilarious. Their beer is solid, and sticks to the German Purity Law. $5 gets you the tour and a plastic cup for beer, an extra $5 gets you a Franconia glass. From what I’ve gathered, they do not have a limit on how much beer you can get, even if they only have three or four of their beers available. Can’t complain about cheap, unlimited, good beer.“

“The brewery does Saturday tours that include information about the history of brewing in the Franconia region of Germany, as well as 15-20 minutes about how beers are brewed. There are usually 3-4 beers on tap. I would definitely think twice before going in the summer because it can get extremely warm inside the brewery.“

“They have amazing selection of beer! They can also order one for you if they do not have in store, which I like most because most other stores don’t do that (my experience). They also carry beer glass and they give it free if you buy more beer. They also have huge selection of KEGS. The Prices are reasonable compare to other stores. This is my favorite local beer store so far!“

“for a bar in mckinney, tx this place has a lot going for it. the burgers are pricey at the cost of quality, local, grass fed cows i believe. great tap list for the area, you can typically find some stuff that hasn’t been around in the area for a while. it was a little loud, but this was a saturday night and that can be expected. all in all the service was good, the food was great, and the beer selection was pretty solid.“

“One of the only tours you can do in all of DFW, this place is a small German brewery run by Dennis, owner and brewmaster. He’s very passionate about beer, and that makes this place worth the trip alone. There isn’t much "atmosphere" to this place, it’s a brewery and gets the job done. I rated service highly because when I wanted a beer, I got one quickly! Dennis was also a superb host. There tend to only be 2 or 3 beers available during the tour, so selection got knocked down just a little bit. No food, but for what you pay for the tour and the beers you get, it’s a great value as well. Nice place, and since we have very few other "real" tours, this is worth visiting if you live in Dallas.“

“Me and ericandersnavy stopped by here today (Saturday). This place is very open with high ceilings and lit up well, seems to have a Swedish design thing going, kinda like everything came from Ikea. 30 taps on hand and only 2 Texas local brew they have on hand is Franconia, they have 4 taps dedicated to them and a couple of Saint Arnold. I was slightly surprised to see Unibrou on tap here but they had several good brews. The food was pretty pricey, $9.50 for a cheese burger, does not include fries and it was only "Ok". Service was pretty slow with no real energy behind it, at least from the guy waiting on us. My brother actually had to approach the hostess before we were seated because we were just standing there for 5-10 min with out anyone saying a word to us. I have no reason to visit again.“

“Pretty cool trip that I made yesterday. The cost is $5 to get in which gets you a tour and beer. 3 beers were on tap, Lager, Wheat and Dunkel. The first wheat that was poured to me must’ve been the bottom of the keg because it poured a custard yellow that was opaque and quite milky. Very odd aroma too, nothing that matched my previous tasting notes. I checked how it was pouring later and it was seriously like a completely different beer, but still the wheat. So that was my only bad note. The tour is WAY in depth, where Dennis talks about enzymes and original gravities...cool stuff if you are a homebrewer. Small place but very efficient. He said his energy bill for last month was just over $200, and if they shut down the power to their cooler, it would stay the same temp for up to 5 days! Crazy. Enjoyed the trip and liked the oak barrel sitting by the entrance that apparently holds the first Oktoberfest of the season!“

“went there with my brother swalden28 today. i have met dennis several times before, but this was the first tour i have taken. it is obvious that he love what he does. he also produces one of the best if not the best wheat beer i have ever had. he is very personable and will chat with you forever. as KAggie97 said he gives you much info on the brewing process. ever since i tried his o-fest and wheat last year i feel there are great things to come from franconia.“

“Went here with my little brother. The tour was very informative, going into the meat and potatoes of brewing rather than just sticking to the gravy. Dennis loves his job and his enthusiasm during the tour reflects this love. I was able to get a one-on-one interview with him for My Table magazine with no problem whatsoever. (Gavin was not in attendance on this day.) He was happy to answer my questions. Selection is limited to 3 beers (lager, dunkel, wheat) but since it’s a relatively new brewery, that’s understandable. Much more is coming from this brewer, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with. Definitely worth a visit if for nothing else than the informative tour.“

“I stopped by here (by appointment). This brewery is brand new, just opened shop a couple of months ago. The brewers are Dennis (Brewer for Two Rows in the Dallas area) and Gavin (Was the brewer for Rahr & Sons). So far this is a 2 person operation. I originally called and spoke to Gavin and he was more then happy to speak with me and set an appointment for me to come by with friends. The building is brand new, as well as all the equipment. At the moment, they only keg beers. Gavin showed us around and explained in detail their brewing process. At the end of the tour, he gave us a taste of the beers they have available at this time, the unfiltered lager and the wheat, straight from their tank, not a keg, allthough eventually im sure they will do that......but I like the idea that mine was straight from the tank. Gavin stated that someday they will do tours on saturdays, but since they are so new, there are a few things they need to get set up first. Tours are given during the week by appointment only at the moment. This is a very personable expieriance, so if you get the chance, give them a call, you have the brewers FULL attention. Im not sure how to rate the selection at this time since there are only 3 at this time, it’s good beer....“

“I live down the street. I like this store, They have a beer person on all shifts and a couple of them do know their stuff, but I think the store wants to concentrate more on wine sales, but I have met a couple of beer knowledgable people working here. “Went in to check out this place it is an upscale grocery store/gourmet foods place. beer selection is comparable to central market. prices suck, but that is probably because there are very few competitors in Mckinney since they only recently legalized beer sales. service was non existant, people would not make eye contact with me. register check out was very slow and i was in the express lane. and they opened another lane , but pulled customers from the back of the line, not the front. that pisses me off, i would like to say i won’t be back, but it is close to a few friends houses so i probably will when i am faced with the choice of BMC or going back to this snobish bastion of yuppiedom.“
