“The Horny Toad Brewery is proof that you can set up a brewery just about anywhere. Rowena, TX is roughly 30 miles from San Angelo (pop. 100,000) and the entire town has probably 15 to 20 commercial buildings. Anyway, this brewery is set up in an old gas station and is open to the public one Saturday each month and the place was PACKED! Apparently it’s not the citizens of Rowena that are exclusively supporting it as an in-law who lives there said she only recognized one person there. Worth a stop if you happen to be passing through on the right Saturday. Brewskis were $3 and they also do growler fills. Bring some chairs if you don’t arrive in the first hour. I didn’t try the food from the vendor of the week but it smelled good.“

“Great place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon. The owner/head brewer is a nice guy, The food changes every time. And they have live music.“
