“Last stop of the evening for me. Kind of quiet on a Monday evening. Pub menu, nice selection of regional beer. Good service.“

“Stayed in Harriisonburg for the night, and hit as many breweries as I could. Nondescript brick building, easy to miss, located in light industrial area. Inside is textbook brewery taproom. Lots of wood and metal, tables, small bar. No outdoor seating that I could make out. Fairly quiet here, and I got to sit out quite a thunderstorm here. The rain was a good excuse to have a few more than came in my flight. Great service, friendly, quick. Beer was all very good too.“

“This place is located in downtown Harrisonburg Virginia. Bartender is friendly enough. Hanging lights lit the place. We parked across the street in a bank parking lot. No food here. Snacks here though. 8 beers to choose from. Big bar seats 20. Some tables here seats another 20 people. Nice place, will be back. Cheers! “

“Small taproom in an old garage building - lots of wood and brick and two garage doors on the front of the building. Just a small taproom with a small bar and several tables. They had about 10 or 11 beers on tap when I stopped in. The beer was decent, but nothing great.“

“Sat at the bar area and it took what seemed like forever for the beer tender to come serve me. The set up had glass curtains so brewing could be seen while seated. Beer tenders were very friendly.“

“We came here on 17.8.2018. 2 restaurants next to each other. We chose this one, the smaller of the two, as they have a larger beer selection and apparently the burgers are better here. All the beers come in cans and bottles. I had an Aale Smith IPA. The pub area is nicely decorated with bikes, a bull head and bras. Burgers were very good but the one we ate was extremely spicy, too many Habaneros. Overall a really great dive bar.“

“We came here on 17.8.2018. Home brewer shop in the basement with a nano brewery and a small bar area. When we came a live band played and the atmosphere was friendly. They immediately offered us to see the brewhouse and locals welcomed us in a very nice way. Only downside is the beer. It is full of beer flaws and unfortunately not drinkable. Really a shame as otherwise this place would be really cool.“

“We came here on 17.8.2018. Quite large brewpub compared to the other places in town. U shaped bar and the brewhouse visible behind a glass wall. Was very empty on a Friday evening. Overall a nice ambiance. Unfortunately the beers were poor and almost not drinkable.“

“We came 17.8.2018. Seems they have 3 other brew pubs in the area. This one has the smalles brewhouse, 85 liters! We met the brewmaster Mary Morgan. She spent some time with us explaining us the history of the place. Very nice! The beer we had was quite good.“

“This is a pretty cool little joint along the more northern side of Downtown Harrisonburg. They have right around a dozen taps upstairs (and 4 downstairs if you happen to be there for a show or something). The bartender was not the most informative, let alone talkative, but she knew how to serve the beer that I requested, so there's that. I only had mozzarella sticks so I can't really say much about the food. Prices were solid.“

“I'm not a homebrewer (I don't need another hobby to create a mess), so that part did nothing for me, but the place is cozy and smelled like Gravity Lounge (took me back). Service was fine and friendly, but I didn't have questions and others did, so I didn't bother the bartender much. Beer was meh overall, but I'd return.“

“Our last stop on a little beer tour and I couldn't have been more disappointed. Three Notch'd makes good beers. But this venue, early on a Tuesday night, was pumping with very loud music and was evidently focused on trying to draw in a younger crowd, without success. Relatively empty, but LOUD (couldn't converse with my wife), without many more beer offerings than I can find in regional retail, I couldn't wait to leave. Next time i'm in Harrisonburg, this is last on my list. Brewery #845“

“In the downtown area not far from several of the local brewers, this is a great place to take a meal break, grab a well-made wood-fired pizza, and angle in on a couple other local/regional brews you might've missed. Most of the 12 taps are local and well chosen. Great pizza, great beer!“

“Beer geek heaven. A home brew supply shop with a built-in nanobrewery and some very, very good brews on tap. Limited hours. No food. But friendly staff and patrons. If I were to redo my visit to Harrisonburg, I'd start here. Brewery #844.“

“They have a nice space, set back from the main road, so using GPS you'll drive past it at least once. On a nice day, the outdoor area is quite pleasant. The staff was nice and attentive. They didn't have that many beers on tap, and only 1 or 2 that I can't buy in cans 300 miles away, so it was a bit of a let down from a beer discovery lens. Otherwise, a quality stop. Brewery #843.“

“This is a well re-made space in an older building along a main drag. They have a handful of their flagship brands on tap, plus a good lineup of unique offerings only available here. The bartender was Johnny on the Spot, helpful and quite friendly. Will definitely revisit when back in the area. Brewery #842.“

“This is a pretty funky spot. There are several beers to choose from, decent at best. I feel this place has potential, and I think they just had a new brewer come on not too long ago, so we'll see what happens.“

“Nice modern, fairly small tasting room with 10 or so beers on tap. They have a small batch brewing operation where they brew several small batch beers on location, while others are brewed attheir other locations. Very friendly service. The beers I tried were all good. We enjoyed a flight of beer and some chips and salsa (which is about the only food available, but the salsa was good).“

“Parked in lot across the street. Larger bar with a good amount of people drinking on a Saturday afternoon. One wall is like a library... interesting. 9 beers currently on tap. 4 of the ones on the menu had kicked, they added two new ones now listed there. Service was almost nothing. Beers average.“

“Nice little place - I passed it the first go around, so had to loop around and approach from the back. Probably better that way. Nice modern brewery space. 10 on tap as well as 8 rare bombers you can consume there (prices pretty high on those: $23-$35 each. I asked - no, no off-premise on these), and 5 off-premise (prices ranging $8-$22). Beers solid to solid+. Service friendly.“

“Nice room - smaller than I imagined, but well designed and decorated. Mostly standard Three Notch’d brews on tap with two exclusive to Harrisonburg. Bartender said they usually have four, but they’ve run out. I only sampled the two from that specific location as I can get the others at home. One VG+ one fine. Will definitely return.“

“A sports bar with a decent amount of craft beer, this place is definitely not my go-to type of scene. They did have a decent amount of local microbrews, and a bunch of classic favorites (Bell’s Two Hearted Ale and such).“

“Large modern taproom adjoining a large production facility visible through glass. Large very nice patio. In a newish shopping complex of some sort. We Uber’ed so I didn’t pay attention to parking. Large U-shaped bar, then some bar tables, and a sort-of living room-ish area - if they were going for cozy, they missed. But still a nice atmosphere. Flights of five beers for $6.75, so great prices like all the places in this area. Beers were OK. Server knew the beers well. No food, but nearby restaurants deliver. One of the top stops in the area. If the beers improve a bit, it would be an outstanding stop, so worth watching for now.“

“Perhaps it was the fact that I visited on a dreary Saturday afternoon in the depths of winter, but I found the Harrisonburg Capital Ale House to be a pale shadow of the other locations in the chain. Service was slow and underinformed about the beers on offer. Everything seemed to be just about adequate and nothing more. Sure I’d stop by again in a pinch, but not a place to go out of your way for.“

“This place is very cool! There are pool tables, ping pong tables, even 2 lanes for duckpin bowling! As far as a beer destination, it’s alright. They have several taps, all of them local, and the prices are pretty fair. They have quite a bit of food too, but I didn’t order anything.“

“This is Harrisonburg’s best brewery experience. The beer here is very good-to-special, one of those places making beer that has yet to become famous but is getting there. (They’ve won a GABF medal, so they’re not unknown.) All the usual brewery taproom niceties are here -- games, patio, etc. What’s surprising is that despite being a half dozen blocks from a university, the place stays super-chill. Credit the bookcase.“
