“Worth a detour off US-17, not far from the George Washington Birthplace National Monument, a bucolic setting. There's a small rustic taproom, accompanied by nice big outdoor areas both in front and in back of the building. Friendly folks. Somewhat limited, basic beer list, but the ones were tried were high quality. Recommended. Brewery #902.“

“Located just on the edge of the small village of Montross in Westmoreland County. Tasting room is small, but the outside area has a huge number of picnic tables and room to relax.

There’s always been 5 beers on tap there, with in-house non-alcoholic ginger ale as well. Staff is incredibly nice. Beer is not earth shattering (it’s no Hill Farmstead, Veil, Aslin, etc), but few breweries can be like that, right? I’ve enjoyed everything they’ve made and have gone back multiple times to drink the same beers and grab growlers. Probably the best comparison I can give to this particular brewery to any other local VA breweries in regards to their beers I can think of is Forge and BadWolf. If you’re otherwise already in the area, it’s definitely worth a stop in.

You can get a room at the nearby Inn at Montross which has good food and a nice pub with regional craft beers in the basement.“

“Small B&B in the heart of Montross, VA. Owner is enthusiastic about the pub downstairs, which has at least 8 taps and a number of bottles. Many of them are quite good, though nothing too out of the ordinary if you’ve hit all the big DC area breweries. Food is really tasty, worth a stop by, perhaps even to stay down there now that there is a brewery in town.“

“This might be the only worthwhile place to buy beer in the Northern Neck, at least in the Eastern part of Westmoreland County. Decent variety, sometimes I wonder if we’re the only people who buy some of the stuff. This is pretty hard to actually rate accurately. I want to give it a high score because it’s the only place in the area, but it’s pretty much a standard grocery store.“
