“This is a very large place and no sign to the beer part. There is a Rathskeller here for beer only, but it was not open when i visited. I went into the bar in the main inn lobby and was able to get a flight, but I felt way out of place. This is fancy. I don't think my T-shirt was cutting it. But the service was good, and they had their flagships on.“

“Nice spot in "downtown" Shepherdstown. Beer and wine bottle shop, wine in front, beer in back. Has a decent selection of WV beer, which is hard to come across. Very helpful and chatty staff. Worth a stop in the area.“

“We ate lunch here. Beautiful property. I enjoyed my burger especially the bratwurst on it. I enjoyed the Bavarian Brothers beers I had. The sampler flight is pricey at $12. The Apple strudel is on the small size. I hope to come back.“

“This shop almost makes a beer trip to Sheperdstown worthwhile. The selection is surprisingly good, everthing seemed to be available as singles, and the prices reasonable. The only dissapointment was that the the West Virginia beer selection was pretty sparse. The proprietor was extremely nice. Overall it was a nice experience stopping in.“

“An historic building in the historic center of town makes for a nice ambiance. A dozen beers on tap, mostly ordinary craft, but sadly no WV beers. Not worth a detour.“

“Visited on 11th October 2017. Huge, single roomed liquor store on the edge of town. Got a huge array of wines and spirits plus a solid range of beers, mostly in multi-packs but plenty of singles too. Most of the beer is more popular brands, didn't see much local stuff. Service was good, prices OK. Worth a look in but Grape and Grains is better.“

“Visited on 11th October 2017. Really smart wine and beer shop on the main drag through town. It's got a really nice layout, beer at the back, the local stuff was on the bottom row of the cider fridge, the friendly staff helped me find it! Beer range is pretty good with a good mix of brewers and styles. Prices were excellent, service good. Recommend a stop here if you're ever in town“

“Visited on 11th October 2017. English themed cafe bar just off the main street but still on the main route into town from the south. Single room with an L shape, bar on the left. 12 taps and a good range of local stuff on, picked up a Big Timber beer here. Stopped for Brunch and the food was good value too. Service was super friendly. Worth a stop if you're in this neck of the woods.“

“Dedicated free parking. Average service. Two big rooms the first has most of the beer, the room on the left is mostly wine. This place has several coolers for six-packs, a row for large format single bottle, and a small section of mixed six-pack for $9.99 during my visit. Average pricing. This place is near Grape and Grains Gourmet and is provably worth a quick little look for most people.“

“On the street parking, get your quarters out. Atmosphere is worn shop. The lady working was pretty knowledable about her stock. Stock is a couple refrigerated coolers in the back left for a couple dozen different six-packs. A couple hundred singles of beer, couple dozen ciders, under a dozen meads, and two taps for growlers. Prices are average to above average. Descent boutique shop.“

“Small bottle shop that has several West Virginia options, in addition to another 100 or so craft beer choices. Limited foreign selection, but hey, they’ve got Orval and Rochefort. Reasonable prices. Helpful worker when I visited.“

“Located in the centre of Shepherdstown, this small and cosy venue looks like a wine shop, but there is a back room with a decent selection of local beer, which is hard to find outside the given states (WV and DC). The staff are very friendly and willing to share their impressive knowledge about the beer they sell. Reasonable prices. Would like to be back one day.“

“A small shop that at first seemed to be mostly wine, but the beers are tucked away in the back of the store. Rather nice selection with a good classic European range as well as bigger US craft breweries and VA and VW beers. Friendly service, nice price level. Well worth the detour we did to get here.“

“Really nice atmosphere of an old style bar. I had a couple of local WV beers and enjoyed the place. They have one room for rent in the place and it would be a cool getaway with a significant other.“

“Very nice little shop. Went in looking for some local beers and picked my own 6 pack. Not too pricey, about 3-3.50 a beer. Service was very nice and helpful. Asked where to go in town and a few other questions. Nice place.“

“This is a great little shop. Front of the shop is wine, back is beer. Nice selection of craft beers, a few local, and some nice Belgian imports. Service was great, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Shops are great when they put a true beer geek behind the counter.“

“Small little shop on the main drag of Shepherdstown. Beer is in the back behind all the wine. Reasonable selection considering you are in the middle of a beer wasteland. Prices are reasonable and the person behind the register asked if I needed any help. Don’t expect anything rare or amazing, just solid everyday brew.“

“Big classy hotel restaurant. Travlr and I were almost the only ones there for lunch. Located close to some historic civil war sites, which is cool. Anyways, the food was good and reasonably priced, with great service, though the tap list was sparse and very German.“

“Large classy place n the Potomac River. Ratskellar was closed so we ate lunch in the dinig room. Food was excellent, service was terrific. Two German beers on tap, plus a bunch of bottles - several of which I had not rated despite having lived in Germany for four years. Antietem battlefield is nearby.“

“Very nice German-style inn overlooking the river. I ate in the large dining area, which was elegant and very European. I was expecting a better beer selection, but was happy with my Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel (my Merchant du Vin rep tells me that they go through more of that stuff than any place on the east coast). Franziskaner, a Pinkus, Spaten Lager, and a couple other Ayingers were available, along with some macros and Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout. Food is incredible--I had wiener schnitzel topped with anchovy and capers with cabbage. Excellent.“
