Great comfortable feel. A few 30-50gal fermenters behind the counter. The brewer at the cash register is awesome, talking about the yeast and malt bill of each beer. Love it. I would be eating sandwiches here all the time, if I lived close by.“ |

An interesting place. They have pie and they have cider as well as a few beers. The decor/ambiance is kind of industrial with corrugated siding and such on the outside and kind of minimalist inside.
The cider list is pretty nice. They get stuff from a variety of producers around California as well as some imports. About 18 ciders on draft as well as some bottles. They do small pours which is nice for tickers like myself.

Popped in here for a beer and to catch some of the NBA All Star Game. Has an old-school bar/pub vibe to it. Despite this being classified as a brewpub on here, they had only one Humboldt offering on draft (a hemp cider, of all things).
The food is kind of your typical pub offerings. We grabbed a couple appetizer type things like fries and fried zucchini, which were fine. The beers we did order seemed to be decently fresh at least.
Service was whatever. The place was clean, just felt kind of dated.
I would probably not make it a point to come back, but it wasn't a bad experience.“ |

A small cafe and bottle shop/bar just outside of downtown Arcata. It's right next to a laundromat in case you need to wash your clothes while you're at it.
We weren't hungry, so didn't try the food but seemed kind of sandwich spot that does some appetizers and salads and such. Food looked pretty good.
The draft list wasn't particularly interesting when we visited, but they do have an enormous selection of bottles and cans. I didn't notice anything really crazy plenty of solid beers.

Warehouse/business park brewery that has a nicely done tasting room separated from the brewery site. It was dark and hailing outside, so not sure if they normally do outdoor seating, but no one would have been using it that night. Big wooden bar where you order and all the beers listed on the board overhead. These guys have a lot of beers on tap and they cover a pretty wide variety of styles. Beer quality could be better overall, but it's certainly not bad. Definitely worth a stop if you're up in Humboldt.“ |

Service was helpful and welcoming. They had a broad selection of house brewed beers and all were decent but nothing mind blowing. Worth a stop if passing through.“ |

In an industrial area in Arcata.
Cosy, warm feel. Had some sort of folksy indy music on that night. Mostly College Students in the tap Room. Friendly service and no food available .
Beers are mostly malt forward. Had the Imperial Golden ale and the single hop Simcoe IPA. The IPA was brilliant. More English type beers with their yeast.
Good place in extreme NorCal.

Front area is comfortable with the rear being slightly industrial with the fermenters etc. Small bar with 5+ tap lines, growlers and merc to go at the bar. Hip, some what friendly crowd, no real beer geeks to chat with.“ |

Surprised to see they also have everything for the homebrewer including hops, live yeast, malt, carboys and cappers. I didn’t find any true rarities like MartinT’s La Folie experience but the selection was very good and the prices were quite reasonable too. Big bonus for the food too. Dolmas, great cheeses, nice fresh baked breads, fresh figs... fantastic picnicking to be picked up here.“ |

I even found some La Folie here, which was a total surprise! There aren’t too many good bottle shops in far northern California, but this Co-Op will easily quench your thirst for quality craft brews.“ |

The eclectic crowd you see walking about the small downtown area will be hanging out in and around this bar which has quite a few taps of Northern California goodies. They even had brews from the brand-new Redwood Curtain Brewery in town. I can’t say I really found the place to be an amazing craft beer destination, but when in the area, it surely is one of your better options if you want a good variety of NoCal brews.“ |
