“Wonderful beer store packed full of all kinds of goodies. Singles galore, with a whole bunch of extra stuff in the cooler - don't forget to check back there. Lots of local stuff, and even more imports from around the country and international. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Prices OK. Definitely worth a stop.“

“Stopped for dinner after drinking at Lost Abbey. Cool to see the brew works other than that standard restaurant feel ...with Stone beers. Food was good service too, highlight was an oaked arrogant bastard- oaked in new oak so a nice vanilla flavor not boozy.“

“From the outside it looks rather depressing, but inside it’s completely different. The gardens and relaxed atmosphere show why this place is so highly rated. Excellent flight, great selection (if Stone is your thing).“

“Visited with the family on 14-OCT-2109. We attended the brewery tour first and then had dinner in the restaurant. Interesting tour and really good selection of (five) beers along. Food was great. Had a flight og four beers and all really good. Bought both cheap and expensive bottles in the shop. Cheap and a good selection. Must-visit in San Diego.“

“Short visit on our way to San Diego. Huge place, very modern looking from the outside, lots of parking. As you enter a huge room with swag, t-shirt, hats, the like - pure Disneyland. Ok, to be honest there was a growler filling stand aswell. Further in, brewery to the left (its huge) bar in the center and a nice restuarant like seating area. Lots of tap's, 30+, 2 pre-set 4 pcs sampler sets, beers brewed onsite and at Liberty Station. Ordered 2 beers and opted for a seat in the garden wich is really nice, calm and relaxing. Service was good, allthough not alot of guests at our visit. Not to sure what to think, somewhat upscale, clean and the nice garden is great, but its not really a place ill go back to to drink beer, the crappy musak played dosnt help either. Didnt try any food. Prices on the beers we had was very fair.“

“A newer local Esco establishment which shares a parking lot with a Crossfit gym. The beers are good and service friendly. No food except for the occasional food truck.“

“Visited on a Wednesday afternoon in February 2018. The entrance was anonymous but the bar was nice although the hightlight was the patio. The service was good as was the selection. (but I did prefer the selection at Liberty Station) Not that busy during our visit.“

“Sunday 14th Jan 2018, my third visit to this impressive and stylish place, ate here for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Lovely gardens with an outside bar compliment the inside bar and growler station areas, large shop offers clothing, beers to go and other Stone goodies like chili sauces and stuff. Busy, friendly and expensive, very Californian. I love it“

“It’s like heaven on earth, the brewery experience done right. It looks like a nondescript office building on the the outside, but the inside has gardens, 2 bars, and huge water features. the food was tasty, the prices were reasonable,a and they had a shitload of vintage Stone goodness. Definitely a destination location.“

“Small storefront sort of place, three tables on the sidewalk, open front, since weather is always good here. Just one house beer on tap but tons of guests and some bottles too. 4 ounce pours of any draft beer available, so you can do any number you like. Tasty burgers. Nice place.“

“I should like this place but I don’t. Their Big Wally World-sized parking lot was completely full at 11:30 am. Surroundings have that unmistakable smack of new cash. As I near the entrace, a Disneyesque horror mounts. I hear screaming kids. I see strollers and white-haired grandmas coming towards me. These are not beer people! Now I’m in and these guys are flush, the house that Arrogant Bastard built, eh. I should attest I’ve never been a fan of their marketing/advertising. At least nobody copies it. I like their beers. They go with Mexican food. However, I discover there aren’t many beers I can’t get at home. Add to that, Escondido is at least an hour from Metro SD. You’d need to stay overnight in Escondido to do Stone properly. Nicht. Personally, it’s not even worth devoting a day’s detour to, certainly not something to plan around on a vacation or dragging the family to. Save yourself the trip. Didn’t try the "bistro" but at the outside bar, food was shit, and expensive, like microwave JImmy Dean and a dash of stale tortilla chips on a paper plate, not kidding. 99? They’re way overstaffed and yet service is spotted dick. Too popular to care. Total free-for-all. Left a little wiser and closer to the grave. “

“Awesome bottle shop, with a massive selection of beers. When you walk in, there is a great selection of beers in the far left of the store; but an even better selection in the "beer cave" in the back, so don’t miss that! Very friendly service, only too happy to make recommendations and chat about beer. A great place to do some bottle shopping.“

“After visiting Liberty Station on Day 1 of my trip, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to take the long drive to Escondido. But I’ve always been impressed with Stone’s quality, and I really wanted to see this place. Trust your maps, cause there is no sign out front. Just a small rock with a gargoyle on it. Huge parking lot. I got there around noon on a Wednesday. Sat at the bar. Same exact menu as Liberty Station. High quality food (priced accordingly). Beer selection is your typical Stone variety that’s available almost anywhere. Some good guest taps too. Friendly staff. The gardens are worth checking out too.“

“Visited 2008 & 2015. Really liked this place and the beers in 2008, in 2015 not so much. Quite a bit of beers are so-so or over-the-top, and I didn’t care for the general Stone Disneyland vibe. Expensive. Some of the beers are good though, and bottle selection is nice.“

“Visited 21.4.16 after an extensive day at Pizza Port and Stumblefoot. Stayed for just one round - actual glasses, no tasting flights this time. Picked Liberty Station brews that were far inferior than anything by stone we had tasted previously. Our bad. An extensive menu, a huge place, decent service. Feels like a tourist attraction or perhaps a modern-day tiki bar. As a marketing professional I adored the attention given to the details. As a beergeek, I found the vastness or the place a little intimidating.“

“After a huge disappointment at Stone, we came here for dinner instead. The service and vibe were both positive. I was stunned to learn they had ZERO house beers available (although billed as a brewpub), but I was consoled by the hefty guest taps. The food looked and sounded great. But my plate was SUPER salty .. the fries were inedible, and my burger was borderline. They were kind enough to remove my dinner from the bill, and the others at my table were please with their plates. But the experience was positive enough that I’d like to go back, given the opportunity.“

“So I’ve been to over 700 breweries in 20 countries and often frame my travel itineraries around beer. When I’m home, I like to try different beers as often as possible. But Stone is often the source of many of my favorites, and I’ve been wanting to visit Stone’s "homeplate" for many years. I’ve had trips to the San Diego area planned a couple times that got scrubbed for various reasons (including a pesky little brain tumor) and missed whatever opportunity I might’ve had to visit the original location. But I’ve wanted to go here forever. So this time, when I finally had the chance to get to SD, I framed an entire day around visiting Stone, and booked some sh*tty hotel room in Escondido specifically to spend some time here. WHAT A BUST. So on a Sunday night (granted, Valentine’s Day), we were told we couldn’t get a table, that they were "totally booked." But there was no indication of some special V-Day event, and for the 45 minutes we lingered around one of the bars, we saw at least a dozen empty tables the entire time. The whole vibe of this place comes across as overly snooty. Not a single member of the staff acted like they could give a sh*t if you were there or not, there was no effort to reach out to us as customers. We waited in line for 20 minutes at the bar while the indifferent bartenders stood around with their noses in the air, moving at the speed of fermentation. Of course, when we did get beers, they were stellar (props to the brewers). We might’ve stayed and jockeyed for a much-coveted seat at one of the two bars, but instead had our $40 round of 4 beers, got suckered into spending more at the quite impressive gift shop, and left. I was so, so, so disappointed with this visit, and realize now that Stone has become something on the verge of the "wicked" Anheusers, Millers and Coors’es that everyone despises so much. I can’t say I’ll abandon their beers because they’re so damn good ... But DAMN, did this place suck. Brewery #734.“

“A compound of a brewery and restaurant, but pretty well planned and put together. A beautiful tasting room and beer garden with lots of space to hang out. The tour was a pretty standard one, but still cool to see all the brewing equipment. Service was solid, quick and knowledgeable. Selection was pretty awesome, with both lots of Stone beers and some solid guest taps. Would like to eat here next time I visit.“

“New rating: Visited on release-evening for Firestone Walker 19. Crowded but good atmosphere and nice service. This place is fantastic when in the evening, the outdoor section is amazing to spend time in. Now this is probably my new favorite beer-place in the world. Old rating: Huge but quite nice atmosphere. Crowded but not too noisy. Loads of beers, for instance I had Stone Bourbon Barrel RIS on bottle here. Lots of beers from Stone, but also a lot of guest beers. Very good, a must visit, but I actually prefer the place at Liberty Station.“

“We made our way over here during the middle of the day on Saturday. We had a late lunch (or early dinner), so it was about 4pm when we were seated. The place was comfortably busy. Most tables were taken up and the bar seats were mostly filled.

We were seated quickly and the staff was super, super helpful and quick. Food was well prepared and the beer came out pretty quickly with only one snag because they were replacing the keg.

Funny enough, I totally expected to be let down by the experience when we first parked, but this was like a very well run resort, perhaps even the Disney of the Craft Beer world. Draft list did not disappoint - lots of their own beers, a few harder to find ones from them and a ton of guest taps and bottles. To-go growler station was pretty awesome too.“

“This is a place for everyone. Incredible atmospher. Good food and beer. Huge place with great gardens to walk around and drink your beer. Also you can go on tours of the brewery or just take a look through some huge glass panels that look onto some of their brewing process. If you are in San diego and like beer you have to visit stone!“

“This gem is tucked neatly in Escondido just off Highway 78 with easy access. Unassuming at first, this dark store boasts a large high quality beer, wine, and spirits selection, each one seemingly individually picked for placement on the shelf or in the cooler. I was able to find several things here that I have yet to find in SD. This store is legit and the staff are ever ready to assist.“

“Stone is the most beautiful brewpub I have ever been to. (I’ve literally been to about 200). The outdoor gardens are completely ridiculous. At first I was convinced that the frog noises were piped over a speaker, but after walking through the gardens we discovered they were real frogs. I cannot say enough about how completely beautiful this place is. The food was above average, and the brewery experience was interesting. Stone is a really nice restaurant and a good place to hang out with a large group of people. However, this particular brewpub isn’t exactly a bastion of beer dork-ery. (I’m not talking about Stone the Brewery. I’m talking about this brewpub). This brewpub is packed with a general restaurant crowd. It’s definitely worth a quick visit, but if you’re looking to geek out theres a whole bunch of breweries right along the highway too.“
