“Small light industrial taproom, small serving bar. Decent variety of beer styles, I liked the malty offerings. Staff were very helpful in choosing. Nice stop.“

“Ambiance is fine. Service was fine. Selection is very good. The best you will find in the area...... BUT...... although there is an enormous selection, there is hardly any refrigeration space given to beer. I understand they cant refrigerate everything but there are dozen of gas stations and Bevmo’s with more fridge space dedicated to beer than this Total Wine. Still a fun place to shop. You cant find a better selection anywhere in the area and the prices are pretty good.“

“a big tap list that is usually of good quality if a little pedestrian...but sometimes you can find a couple gems. they take pride in good pub food as well.“

“Cool place. Big windows let in lots of light. Autographed guitars and sports memorabilia hang from the walls. Comfortable seating. Relatively quiet place where one can have a conversation. Service was excellent. Our server was very familiar with the beers he had on tap. The selection of beers on tap was outstanding. The food was very good. I would certainly visit again if I returned to the area.“

“Located in an upscale mall near Highway 50, this is a fairly typical Total Wine location with lots of wine and a good selection of craft and imported beers. The aisles are easy to navigate and the staff is helpful.“

“Located on the main drag in old Folsom, this bar has a good selection of taps and a reasonable bottle list. It is a small place, so arrive early for special events. The staff is very friendly and the bar food is pretty good.“

“Located in a strip mall - you’d miss this place if you didn’t know it was there. Small but cozy joint. Small tap selection but quality brews. The food was great - try the korean bbq sammie.“

“It’s new. It seems to have a little more beer than others "nearby". It’s efficient - I pulled a single out of a six pack (beer wasn’t in singles area) and the computer didn’t even burp. It’s very close to the Folsom BevMo. I picked up 8 new to me beers, and a bottle of Worthington White Shield. History. From where they used to make Bass.“

“Located in an upscale mall on the outskirts of Folsom, this store has a better selection of beer than most of the other locations near Sacramento. It’s a new clean store and the employees are quite helpful.“

“Typical WalMart style beverage center box store. Service was OK. Selection is good with lots of regionals and NW brews, just not very many available in singles.“

“Myself / Wife visited on a Saturday night, shares a parking lot with other restaurants and parking was tight and congested. Enter inside and the bar area sits on the left with a split level dinning area with about 4 to 5 TV’s showing various sporting events. Good food (pizza was very good) house beer was so-so, had the IPA, nice selection of bottles Kwak, Duvel, Gulden Draak, Chimay blue, Lindeman’s, Dupont, Westmaille, Orval, Scaldis Waiter wasn’t too knowledgeable with the beer but asked another waiter and my questions were answered. “

“Always make this a stop on my way to Tahoe, I think a little of the personality is missing in the new place, but would still recommend it. Food is tasty, if a bit on the expensive side“

“A great looking, rather impressively designed store. With a department as large as it is I expected more of what I want, an incredible selection of west coast craft and microbrewed beers. Overall, hip yet underwhelming, i have my hopes up though that soon after the dust settles, Folsom will become more of a hub for domestic awesomness... not the usual shockingly expensive imported stuff...“

“Down rate - it has gone downhill- dramatically. It’s a grocery store (didn’t see the beer garden, but who knew). The beer selection is much more varied and exotic than the Sacramento store (but that’s everything in Folsom). I picked up 3 new to me beers. Not too shabby. I will stop every time I’m near.“

“One of the best NorCal beer bars I’ve been to outside the Bay Area. Yes, it’s small. Yes, it can be crowded. Yes, it can be loud. But the decor, the character of the building, the beer knowledge of the staff, and most importantly, the beer slection are all fantastic. Nice bottle selection with detailed menus. Great local brew selection and a "Beer from 100-mile radius" happy hour. Combine this with some really tasty burgers, and you’ve got a must stop for craft beer lovers.“

“This is for the newer location. I never went to the old one. It’s in a sterile strip mall, and it really feels like it inside too. Decor is strange; no theme or continuity to it. Feels like it could just as well be a sushi bar or a yoga studio. Staff is attractive, but not much beyond a very basic understanding of beer. Almost no local beers available, which I find odd, and is a big negative for me. Quite a few interesting import choices. They seem to like for us to get the idea that they have a huge selection, but when you actually order, often they will say they’re out of it. Food was okay. As it got later, they started vacuuming and putting chairs on tables and even turning off some of the lights! They weren’t closed yet, but they might as well have told us to leave. I’ll give them another try, but overall disappointing given the amount of money we spent.“

“I’ve been patiently waiting for this Whole Foods to open for a long time. When I found out it would have a beer garden with beers on tap, my patient waiting turned to frenzy! Well, it’s finally open and it’s pretty awesome. They have 8 taps and said they will try to add more in the future. Lots of local beers and a dedicated tap for hard ciders. They were quite busy when I was there, and it looks like the taps change pretty frequently. Proper glassware for the most part. Most of the people behind the bar seem to know quite a bit about beer, and are very friendly. Food menu in the beer garden is pretty basic, but you can buy anything you want from inside and have it outside with your beer! Best part: Their bottle selection inside is fantastic, and you can drink anything in the beer garden for a buck corkage!“

“Nice comfy place in old town Folsom with 16 taps that rotate. Nice seating but small actual bar. Knowledgeable staff and tasty burgers. A must-stop for beer lovers in Folsom. Can get very busy on weekend nights but off times is a great place to relax and enjoy a great selection of beers on tap or in bottles. “

“Its a bevmo, thats for sure. nondescript, boring, stark lighting, the usual suspects... nothing too hip, lots of typical european stuff. Nothing new from northern san diego, nothing new from the Pacific northwest, nothing new from new england and nothing new or special from anywhere in between. Go to the Whole Foods in Folsom, go to any whole foods... at least they have great food, great service and can totally order you (me) anything you dont see fairly quickly and give you a ring when it arrives! brilliant...“

“I visited this place for a happy hour one afternoon. It’s very small, and quite crowded with wealthy, caucasian businessmen who probably own Porsches. There are some nice booths to sit at and whatnot. The bathrooms are really nice, but they’re located outside down the alleyway. The beer selection is very nice, with usually several beers that are rare to the area. They have a really nice bottle list, with reasonable prices. I am not sure about the food here, as I did not order any. The service here is good, and the bartenders are knowledgeable. Just a little too small and too crowded. It has the clientele that I would expect from a place in Folsom.“

“It’s a BevMo. But in the greater Sacramento, CA area it seems to have the best beer selection - even better than the Arden store. I got 3 new to me beers I hadn’t seen at the other BevMos. Service tried hard to help.“

“Hit this for Sac Beer Week. Lookin for the Abacus. Got it. Had Pliny on tap. Opened a cask of Union Jack. Staff was accomodating with idiot questions. Well, picky, detailed - not idiot. Kind of a shotgun layout. Head is outside. It understandably brought Jerusalem Tavern in London to miind. Seemed a great place, and probably somewhat of a local. Neat venue.“

“Ambiance is OK. This place is ridiculously small. The bathrooms are outside like at a gas station, so that sucks. I think this used to be a fast food place. I will say they have done an excellent job decorating the small area they do have. Service is excellent. Very nice waitress did her best to help with the beer. She wasn’t an expert, but offered to ask someone else when unable to answer beer related questions. Beer selection is excellent. Many beers that cannot be found anywhere else. Small selection of food was very good. Seeing as they are serving many great beers not available anywhere else I wont be too critical of the value, that said the beer is overpriced. Overall this place is a must try for beer people. Something good you haven’t tried will be on tap. Also, the waitress said they are moving to a larger location soon.... which is needed badly.“

“Manderes has a decent tap list and a great bottle list. Unfortunately, more than half the bottles my friends and I ordered were out of stock. They definitely have the best bottle list in Sacramento ... their bottle availability, however, isn’t as good. Other than that, the ambiance, food, and service were all excellent.“

“Great new option for craft beer drinkers in the Folsom/Sacramento area. Sam Horne’s has an excellent selection rotating taps. Recent ones include Goose Island Matilda, Lost Abbey Angel’s Share, Jolly Pumpkin Oro De Calabaza, and Stone Sublimely Self Righteous. I’ve been really impressed with the tap selection because they always have plenty of pours that are rare and hard to find in most places. Sam Horne’s features only American craft beers and the bottle options are great, too. Multiple selections from brewers like Firestone Walker (incl. 13th Anniv & Parabola), Rogue, Port Brewing, and Sierra Nevada are common. The available bottles are displayed behind the bar where all orders for food and drinks are placed. A bottle list would be nice especially for when the bar is busy and/or bottles can not be easily identified from a distance. Draught beers are listed on a chalkboard that nicely details the beer’s style, size of pour, ABV, and a scale showing the beer’s relative maltiness and bitterness. A nice touch. The staff is happy to pour a taster of the beers on tap. A full bar is also available for non-beer drinkers. I noticed several good Scotches on the shelf and a bottle of Rogue’s gin. The food is really good. Not sure if the specials are daily or weekly, but there is a featured appetizer dip that is usually delicious, a full food menu, and an old-school style "Blue Plate Special." Expect to find salads, sandwiches, burgers, sausages, and other tavern-type entres. Bottles are available for purchase to-go and the mark-up isn’t outrageous. There’s curbside parking and free city lots within two blocks. Other good beer options like The Cellar, Yaeger’s, and Power House Pub are just a couple blocks away. Mandere’s is a short drive, about two miles, up the road.“

“I was visiting relatives and making a local beer tour. I had Manderes on my list as a maybe, but then ran into the Allagash rep who highly recommended it. It’s about 15 miles east of downtown Sacramento, but well worth making the trip if you are anywhere close to the area. Great bottle and draft selection. The owner & bartender were very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a pretty decent wine list as well. Had the Angus burger with the black & tan onion rings, both were delicious. Challenge them to a game of Wii golf if it’s not too busy.“

“By far the best selection of craft beers in the Sacramento area. They also live up to their no crap on tap philosophy. The beer menu changes periodically so it’s always a good idea to ask what’s new. There’s a beer tasting on the second Wednesday of every month. Tasting includes 8 different beers plus appetizers. It gets busy so make reservations.“

“Folsom has grown exponentially over the past decade, and now it has a big-time beer bar. There are a dozen stools servicing a nice bar stocked with 15 taps and about 90 bottles of well-selected beer, representing the best stock in the Sacramento area. There are also another dozen tables to accommodate drinkers and diners. The food is classy bar fare, well-prepared and tasty. The owner and his barkeeps are very friendly and eager to improve their beer knowledge. There is a good mix of customers, some of whom are rather bizarre considering the location (Folsom). A very nice experience.“

“It is a strange location, and the inside of the building doesn’t match the outside. It was a fast food place converted into a gastro pub. Once inside, it is easy to forget about the strange conversion. Food is great, we were there for lunch so there were many items not available then that are for dinner but the burger and fries were spectactular. As for the beer, EASILY the best selection in the greater Sacramento area. 20 taps. lots of great belgian and hoppy beers and a huge bottled selection. We will be back.“

“Big place, a bit loud when I was there for dinner. They have a good amount of their beers on tap, I believe it was 6 different but nothing too over the top. Food was good, similar to the chain TGI Fridays, etc.“
