“18 beers on tap. In a warehouse district under a freeway with easy parking. Beers are mediocre, but they have some interesting barrel aged beers on tap, so that is a plus. Nice ambiance inside. $4/taster.“

“Poor ratebeer , how i loved ya when. Zero place reviews? Anyway, decent place in Glendale, some street parking available. Tuesdays are trivia night, annoying but at least uncrowded. Slowish service. Flights of 5 for 20$! Beer is decent.“

“Glendale... Such a faux-poetic sounding, pastoral name. A soft velar sound, followed by a nasal, a soft stop, and a liquid. Perhaps there was once a glen or a dale here, where concrete and glass are now all the eye can see. Anyway. This place has a pretty fair selection, ranging from mass-market junk all the way to Firestone Walker Barrelworks limited bottles. Lots of SoCal craft stuff. A smattering of Midwest and East Coast heavy hitters, such as Boulevard, Founders, Dogfish Head, Ommegang, and Allagash (but these are mostly their regular brews). A few from Japan and very few from Europe. Not really as complete or interesting as other Whole Foods stores around (such as, say, the El Segundo location). Friendly staff. The guy stocking the shelves answered a few selections and let me know that they allow singles to be taken out from six packs.“

“Good luck finding it. Went there for the one year anniversary - CONGRATULATIONS! - so the place was pretty busy and pretty hopping. Food truck outside with standard overpriced mediocre fare. Broad selection with some very good examples of somewhat hard to find styles, but they kind of overdo it with the ale’d lager concept. I’ll probably be back, just because I assume it’s so hard to find that it will never be very crowded.“

“Odd location as it’s essentially under the freeway, but you have to go in a rather circuitous route to get into what is essentially an alleyway and then back into the warehouse space where the brewery is.

Fake brick on the walls and an old pickup truck in the middle of the tasting room. Okay? They’ve definitely put a lot of work to give the place a certain look, just not sure it works for me. Anyway, they had six offerings during my visit. Tasters were in the $2 range for the most part, which seems to be the standard now.

The odd thing is they call a number of beers "aled lagers" which I don’t understand at all, but whatever. The beers were mostly kind of mediocre to me. Wasn’t really a big fan of any of them.

It was fine to check out, but not sure I need to make a repeat stop any time soon.“

“Another odd industrial location. Parking available under the overpass in the shade. Walk all the way to the back of the row, on the right, to find the brewery. Bobby’s take on the decor is pretty much spot on. There was some sort of free wireless available, but I could not get it to work. Seven beers available when I was there, all lagers, many with new world hop influence. Kind of like a Jack’s Abby model, I guess. All beers available as tasters, $2 for most, $3 for a couple of the specials. Most available as growler fills as well. Beers were by and large decent. Food trucks on some days. Certainly interesting.“

“I thought the beers were delicious. In an industrial park like a lot of new breweries, but the inside is well done. They have lighter more refreshing beer vs. super hoppy or high alcohol. Worth a visit. Closer to downtown Burbank than Glendale really. They often have a food truck outside. Owners were very nice and fun to talk home brew with. They have an ale yeasted lager or vice versa...can’t remember, but tasty.“

Stopped in late on Saturday, about a half hour before closing. It’s in a really dumping looking industrial area under a bridge. It’s right under where Western crosses over 5. Kind of shady looking in the middle of the night. Inside is a different story. Yes, its an industrial warehouse but they’ve done a fair amount of work to pretty up the joint. They put in brick veneer on the walls, a fake barn door, and used very pretty wood for the bar and shelves (apparently you can get this for $50 per 4x8 at Home Depot). It’s also hard to miss the large flat bed 30s truck in the middle of the room. They cleaned up the bed so it can be used as a table. In the background is a decently large brewing system. They’re about a half a million into this place, so hopefully they make it.

The beers are decent. Nothing amazing but nothing bad either. The passion fruit saison was probably my favorite followed by the IPL. The owners / bartenders were all super friendly and talkative. Turns out that they’re Maltose Falcons members. We’ll see what they come up with in the next few months. $2 per taster, no preset flights, but they only have 4 beers right now. No food served but they have some menus for people that cater.“

“The epitome of a dive bar. You’d be scared to go inside based on the exterior. Bad ass taps. Good bottles. Free pool! Awesome.“

“t0rin0 gave this place a couple thumbs up, so I decided to stop in on my way from Golden Road as it’s just down...well, the road.

Definite dive bar feel inside and out, but oh, they’ve got like 50 great taps on. Some pool tables, a bit dark and old school feeling, a jukebox to put on some tunes. Nice.

The bartender was happy to answer questions and knew what he was talking about. They have a lot of local, LA-county breweries on tap like Golden Road, Three Weavers, Eagle Rock, Angel City, MacCleod, etc. as well as plenty of popular stuff on tap and in bottles. They even had some random Moonlight beer...wat?

They do a lot of different sizes of beer pours from tasters to full pints and each size is listed on the menu with the corresponding cost. Thank you! Happy hour is a great deal, too.

This is a place I would hang out at a lot if it was near me at all. Really awesome place.“

“A craft beer bar masquerading as a dive bar. The beer list is aces, leans on the locals and features the right range of styles. The barkeeps know the list inside-out and upside-down. The peanuts are free. This is the best beer bar between San Diego and northern California. LA prices, but it’s LA.“

“found this awesome place by mistake. I was instantly in heaven. they had a wide selection of tabs and bottles. The bartender was very knowledgeable on the craft beer. they give tasters out which is always a plus. free pool and peanuts.plus you can just toss the shells on the floor.extra points in my book. went during the early evening. the atmosphere was very chili during this time. jukeboxes played some good tone. nice place to lounge around with friends and talk about craft beer. planing another train ride out to this bar.“

“Whole Foods Glendale is the best beer store in Glendale. Big woop. They do have an amazing selection that can be as exciting as it is perplexing. Some days you can get PlinyThe Elder and the next day you can’t find anything interesting at all. I shop there anyway and always make sure to have an extra bag because I usually nab a grip of fun stuff.“

“Fantastic dive bar with easy street parking and a huge selection of craft. For the most part they have a really great selection, but I have had a few warm/flat beers there - which explains the low service score. Big selection, free pool tables, free peanuts and a very unpretentious vibe keep me coming back. The very limited food offerings make my stays shorter than I’d like. Get some food trucks and I’ll stay all night.“

“Visited January 12, 2014.

Now this is a diamond in the rough. I was not expecting very much at all when I pulled up. This is in an industrial area and from the outside you would have no idea what to expect inside (minus the oak barrel with a Firestone flyer stapled to it). There are no windows, no real advertising (just a small GT sign), and a steel door. Inside the place looks like you might expect: dark, stuff on the walls, a pool table, some dedicated local drinkers, etc, but they have a ridiculous tap lineup. I didn’t count the taps to make sure there were really 52 but all the way down the counter there were tap towers with four taps on them and on the one end on the wall were another dozen taps. They have booklets sitting on the counter with a complete tap list that seems to be fairly up to date. From the sounds of it they rotate taps quite often too.

This isn’t your 50 taps and all crap sort of place. I saw beers available from Almanac, Angel City, Bruery, Bootleggers, Drakes, Deschutes, Golden Road, Green Flash, Lost Abbey, and plenty more. They had a few crappy ones mixed in but mostly good stuff. I went with a small glass of Denoginzer which was only $3 since it was a half pour and during happy hour (until 5 on Sundays apparently). I also got a free taste of the LA Aleworks Roggenbier. I was tempted to try the Figueroa Mountain third anniversary barrel aged imperial stout but I’ll save it for another day. The server was very friendly and fairly knowledgeable. Even the bar fly sitting next to me knew something about the beer, though not much more than which ones get you drunk the quickest. There was a big group playing pool and drinking the crap out of the LA Ale Works beers. Very friendly crowd over all. I could see making this a regular stop when I pass through the area.“

“Quite an above average selection for a Whole Foods. Quite a few things that I don’t see at a lot of other places. Ratebeer shelf tags are widely used. Selection includes quite a few sours, lambics and local beers. Very impressed overall. The rest of the store is a typical Whole Foods scene. Good parking lot. This Whole Foods and Red Carpet are your best two stops in Glendale.“
