“Only two blocks from my Airbnb apartment. It seemed to be a great wine shop, but the beer selection was very limited. But, the few beers they have, are worth cheking out. Local craft beers or national wide goodies. I picked bottles from Bottle Logic, Victory, Anderson Valley, Uinta, Founders and Boulevard, most of them 12 oz. (Visited July 12th 2016)“

“Close to my Airbnb apartment and therefore convenient to pick up some bottles. Beer selection was acceptable and better than the nearby Walgreens. Trader Joe’s is also a commissioner and offer a wide range of beers brewed by breweries around the world for sale in Trader Joe’s grocery stores.I picked a couple from Mendocino, Trader Joe’s and Strand Brewing. Not worth a detour, but drop in if you stay nearby. (Visited July 12th 2016)“

“This was the craft beer joint nearest our Airbnb apartment here in Hollywood. I visited twice, first time alone and then with my wife. The restaurant was quite busy both evenings, but I found seating at the bar. Service was friendly and efficient. Bear Republic occupied 15 taps due to a recent tap take over. Not a problem since Bear Republic has a lot of good beers and I now got to try many of them. I also had beer from Almanac, Lost Abbey, Three Weavers, Barley Forge, Iron Triangle, Craftsman and Kern River. But, don’t worry! I’m not a heavy drinker. Stout offers all beers as 4 oz pours. Nice! Priced at $3 to $6. Not bad at all, but a bit more expensive than Blue Palms Brewhouse. A must visit if you are in Hollywood. LiL and jackiess can go elsewhere! (Visited July 11th and 13rd 2016)“

“À quelques pas du District 13, bonne ambiance tamisée, clientèle et service respectable avec une belle sélection qui incluait une Session Brett d’Alagash. Assez pour moi.“

“Une sélection courte mais correcte où on finit par prendre deux bière Allemande adéquate. On se transporte alors vers le ’’beer garden’’ pour engloutir nos pots masson, chaleureuse ambiance, parfait pour se soutirer du freakshow d’Hollywood.“

“Seems like a polarizing place from the reviews. Small little open air restaurant with a couple long sort of communal tables and some booths tucked up against the wall. Sort of a hemisphere shaped bar. They don’t do half pours or tasters, but they’ll let you taste a beer if you like. Taplist is pretty impressive and well varied, a bunch of interesting stuff available. Service at the bar was a bit slow, but it was surprisingly busy on a Tuesday in the early evening. Pretty decent place.“

“Came across this place while walking from Blue Palms and 33 Taps to Stout. Small little restaurant and bar set up with a dozen or so drafts. They’re mostly typical Belgian and German beers like Weheinstephaner Hefeweizen, Aventinus, Kostritzer, Kwak, etc. Food is sausages (shocker) that you can choose your own sauce and topping for. Fairly reasonable price on the food, not so much on the beer. A cool little beer garden area with a wall to obstruct the view from the street (which is nice, actually). A nice place to hang out and have a beer outside.“

“This is mostly a wine shop, but there is a small (though respectable) selection of beer. It’s not really called out like the wines, but it’s in the back left corner of the store. Beers from Prairie, 21A, Alesmith, Midnight Sun, and lots of local/SoCal stuff. They can get beers from their other stores (ie. Redwood City), so you can always order online and pick up here. There is parking available, and they validate it, otherwise you have to pay typical outrageous Hollywood prices. Really friendly, helpful service.“

“We were in Barney’s on 20.12.2013. That’s the place where Columbo was eating his Chili in many episodes. Very traditional place, started in 1920, many Hollywood stars have been here. They have around 25 beers on tap and a large bottle selection. It’s not a beer place, we came here for the Chili and the tradition. Great food menu with huge selection. We had the traditional Chili which was very good paired with a Chocolate Porter from Bay Hawk. Overall a great experience.“

“Visited here for lunch while on vacation in early August ’13. Funky place with a lot of character and history. If you get a chance check out some of the plaques on the bar - such as where Jim Morrison took a leak. Has about 30 taps, most common craft from California - a few imports. Bottle selection is pretty decent - numbers well over 100 and broken out by type. Food is pretty decent - huge menu - lots of comfort food. Not a beer geek destination, but a fun place with some history.“

“Visited on a bar hopping tour through Hollywood starting at Blue Palms. This place is very small with seating for maybe 20-30. It’s on the scale of Beachwood (Seal Beach). We sat at the bar and ordered a round. They had a pretty decent tap line up. Nothing spectacular but there were some good hoppy beers to be had. I didn’t eat anything as I had just eaten at the previous stop. Prices were what you’d expect from a bar in LA (high). The service was friendly but didn’t bother us too much. Over all it’s a decent place but there are better beer destinations within walking distance.“

“Legendary spot and one of the first places in the country to embrace world beers and then micros. Worth a visit for sure.“

“Quick stop in here during a recent visit. Nice, warm atmosphere, if a bit overly cramped. Just a small section for beer tucked into the back left: some slots on a few wine racks and a double-cooler. But what’s here is emphatically top-shelf stuff, with goodies from Telegraph, the Bruery, Bootleggers, Midnight Sun, and others well-represented. Free parking too. If you’re in the neighborhood shopping for art books or records at Amoeba, hit it up for a few bevs.“

“We stopped at Stout Hollywood Burger and Beer for my birthday and we sat at the bar waiting to be seated. The restaurant was not overly busy or super crowded. The hostess Jade approached us at the bar and started telling us about seating us and the menu. One of my friends was talking to another person in our party and happened to be standing next to the waitress. She turned over to him and put her hand 3 inches away from his face and told him "Excuse, I’m talking!" In other words, telling him to shut up. She walked away and heard our conversation that I was upset about her treating us the way she did and she came up with an attitude and said "Are you staying or leaving? because if your leaving I have other people that can sit at the bar where your sitting!" I couldn’t believe that again she talked to us like that. I turned to her and said "that was really rude. We came here to eat and that’s how you welcome people into the restaurant. No one is drunk here and we’re not your typical drunk customers so how you acted was really rude and we won’t be eating here." She then with a sarcastic smile said "That’s great, I’m sorry but it’s been a hectic night" I told her well it doesn’t give you the right to treat us that way. She gave me a sarcastic smile again and said "Well, I’m sorry but are you leaving, I have other people to seat?!" I was so fed up with her attitude. I just asked for her name and I took my group of 9 and we left. On our way out I saw her high five the Security. There are a ton of places to eat in Hollywood and no one needs to deal with that kind of treatment!“

“stopped in 1/30/12.... it’s 3am, just left piano bar and i’m hungry ... that’s about all this joint is good for...wait, no. there’s plenty o’ taco trucks around to fill that need....i’ll forgive the elevated pricing.... it is hollywood afterall. but there is no excuse for an unsalted mediocre soul-less burger when that is all you sell! that’s yer fukking name! how do you fuck it up!? stale pretzels!!??? come on, guys!

on the plus side, they do have something like 80 beers... 78 of which are rather forgettable, though.“

“Surprised this place isn’t trending higher in Rate Beer. We found this place by accident after bailing on Blue Palms. Sure, it’s a bit expensive, but the beer selection here is very impressive. We were looking up everything on Rate Beer, and everything we looked at (half the list) had a rating of over 90.“

“Two reasons to go here. 1 - It’s 3 or 4 am and you want a burger. 2 - You want to be around Ivar and Selma but not in a club. Beer pretty average. Food not excellent.“

“Great spot and cool location in the middle of the Hollywood scene. $8 for Green flash IPA in a not so full pint glass - not impressive. Selection is very good but not highly inspired. Food is good but really expensive. Burgers come with no sides so meals get pretty pricey pretty quickly. “

“Stopped here on a whim because I saw a parking spot right in front and we wanted to eat. Food was surprisingly good pub grub but the tap list was pretty lousy. At least Racer 5 was on and that was good enough. Don’t go out of the way for this place unless you are into Hollywood history as this place has been here a long time.“

“Some good beer here. Small selection and I don’t think it moves too quickly so there are some good finds. Had concentrated evil, Decadence 2009 and 2010 and other foreign and local beers. I even found Summer Yulesmith! Could do a hell of a lot worse.“

“Beer Oasis in Hollywood. Lucky to stumble across this after the place we were going to was closed. 30 taps. When I was there they had Greenflash WCIPA, Allagash Curieux, Gubna, Runiation etc etc. Great burgers made fresh. The prices are high - but then again look where it is. Added bonus - beautiful waitresses (if you are in to that - which I most definitely am!).“

“Pretty cool place with some interesting seats at the bar. The bartenders were fairly attentive until later in the night when it got real busy. They have a pretty good tap selection with no really hard to find stuff, and the bottle selection is pretty big, but again no really great finds. the menu is fairly large and most of is good. Multiple screens makes it an excellent place to watch any sport on TV.“

“Parking available outside. Huge wine selection and a very good liquor selection. 7 or 8 sakes, but all are top tier (mostly daiginjos). Beer selection is small, but all craft and all very high end. The cool thing is that they get boxes sent from their stores in the Bay Area, so they get Northern California Distribution (read: a lot more Shelton, Valley Brew and many things that we do not see here). You can also check out their online store and have items transferred down here free of charge.“

“This is a nice place - the sort of US diner/bar type affair that you see on TV. I had some nice chilli, but the beer list wasn’t tremendously exciting.“

“Food is good. Cool interior, lots of memorabilia of beer and rock music. Beer selection is okay, but nothing amazing for a place on ratebeer. Arrogant Bastard and Stone IPA on tap. Smoked Porter on the bottle. Large menu of burgers, chilli, breakfast, and bar food. Good burgers.“
