“About 10 beers on tap. They do flights of 4oz each in mini mugs. So it is too much to finish. Nice mix of English and American food fare. Beers are average. Great pub ambiance.“

“Stop on the way to Monterrey. Not far from Hwy 1 on a lonely street. There is a small shared lot, but you may well be street parking. The place was doing a decent business on a Tuesday afternoon, looked to be 100% locals. Bar was full, but there were some tables open around the perimeter. I ordered the flight, which was all 10 of their house beers on tap, served in these cool little skinny tall mugs at about 4 oz per. This is obviously an English style brewery, so put yourself in that mindset. Beers seemed a bit too chilled for the style. I did not try the food. Unfortunately, to my taste the beers were all pretty uninspired. I worked my way through the 10, but was not impressed for the most part. Service was good and friendly, however. I don’t see myself going back.“

“Classic English Pub looks with mostly classic English Pub beers. Mostly locals around here. Prices are nice and portions of food and samplers are generous. Beer quality is solid, but beware that most of them are very english-styled. A nice place to visit if you’re here like we were, but not worth planning your route around.“

“Not a huge venue. Pubbish decor. Clearly something of a local. Decent beers. Good service. Worth a stop on the way by.“

“This was stop added to our brewpub visits. We had Big Sur in Carmel and decided to visit. Karen was our bartenter. The bar was small with food offering. We were on a stop while heading back to San Jose. This is an easy stop off 101. Mugs for regular drinkers were hanging from the ceiling. The beer offering was good. Two of the beers I had in town. This is a small brewery. I saw 19 barrel fermenters in the brewing room. I enjoyed their sampler flight of four beers.“

“Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon on my way back from SF beer week. The place isn’t hard to find if you have good directions but it’s in a very unassuming little shopping center in a very quiet part of town. The people inside were all very nice and seemed to know each other. I didnt realize right away that there were personalized mugs hanging from the ceiling. The nice bartender periodically would take a long stick and remove one from the ceiling for a customer.

There were 10 taps going and I got a 4 oz sample of each. The only one that was out was some stout that I can’t remember. The beers were all in the "alright/decent" range. After taking notes on my 4th or 5th sample the 2 guys sitting next to me at the bar started talking to me and asking my opinions on the beers. It turns out that one was the brewer and another was an employee of some sort. Both were nice guys and introduced themselves. We had a discussion about English ingredients (malt and hops mostly) and I was greatful for a professional opinion on English beers as I know so little about them at this point.

10 samples was only about $8, $10 after tip. It was a nice place to relax and have a conversation and the beer was light and enjoyable but I can’t comment on the food as I didnt order any.“

“Small local brewery with a restaurant; food looked good but I had already eaten in Monterey. Beers are good but low alcohol and not really all that flavorful.“

“Nice little pub about a half mile off Highway 1 in Marina. Beers are all British Style Ales from the brewery in the 4 to 6 percent alcohol by volume range. Samples cost $1.50 each or you can get a sampler set for $11.50. Pours for the sample were about 5 ounces. A full menu is available. Prices are cheap and portions are big. We got a huge order of curly fries for $4.75. Brewery is next door to the pub.“

“Great little local place. They do serve food, but did not get any. Had about 6-7 of their own beer on tap. Good variety and quality. The bartender (older gentelman) was super nice and funny, great guy.“

“June 2009. Stuck in an odd corner of an odd shopping area, this place tries to replicate an English pub feeling but doesn’t quite get it. The day I visited, the clientele was obviously small group of regulars. We had a beer or two from their pretty good house lineup and went on our way, so not much of a visit. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.“

“Visited on a Tuesday nite with a couple of co-workers. Nice cozy little place with the brewery in front. Excellent service and good pub food. Ordered the beer sampler which was quite impressive with 12 of their brews. Kind of off the beaten track in Marina, but worth making the trip. Much better than the other brewpub on the penninsula.“

“Small friendly well lit pub, has fast freindly service. There is usually about 6 beers on tap ( mostly english style, surprise) all well brewed. The food is typical pub grub leaning to the British style. All very tasty. Definitly the best brewpub in the Monterey area!“
