“Great location in downtown Martinez. 18 beers on tap. Mostly easy drinking styles, plus a few fruit purée bombs. Huge space. Plenty of parking. One block from Amtrak station with easy access to Bay Area.“

“Decent enough place in historic Martinez. Food can be ordered from surrounding restaurants, so selection varies by day. Their beers were decent, but not great.“

“Stopped in after the Santa Beer crawl. Doing a brisk business on Saturday night. Located in an old style house; inside is nice but a bit small. Kitchen downstairs, main floor is tables, bar, bathrooms. About four of their own beers on while I was there; the others are guest taps. Service was good, if a little slow. Food was solid. Definitely a place to stop if you find yourself in Martinez/“

“Old house with a big porch on the creek Nice inside with a few big wood tables along with others. Big bar with house and guest taps. Good service. I had a spicy burger that was great. Beer prices are good, but food was on the expensive side.“

“Very nice tap room in Martinez! Yes… I said Martinez, CA! I stopped in here one day after visiting the courthouse trying to get a copy of my son’s birth certificate. Very cool building that looks like an old victorian home as you walk up. Once inside you feel very comfortable with a nice bar and plenty of tables. There is a wooded area with a creek right out back so you sorta feel like you’re out in the country a bit. It adds to the ambiance. The beers on tap were very solid. Mostly locals only distributed in the Bay Area, but nothing too outrageous. I think I had a couple of the Bear Republic single hops beers. I didn’t try the food. The service was very good. The barkeep knew his stuff and was very enthusiastic. I’m glad to see this place in an area that was pretty barren for craft beer for many years. I’ll go back when it’s more convenient.“

“Creek Monkey Tap House is located in a house that formerly held a long-standing Italian restaurant in downtown Martinez next to the creek. The atmosphere is, therefore, a lot like a family restaurant. The place is bright, clean, and friendly, but not what you’d expect from a bar. The tap list, however, is pretty impressive, with local and regional microbreweries well-represented: Heretic, Ale Industries, Mission, Eel River, Anderson Valley, Drakes, Stone, Mendocino, Moylan’s, plus Triple Voodoo, Stone, Boulder, Uinta, Bison, and a few others. I had no shortage of new beers to choose from and I’m pushing 4000 ratings. An updated tap list is chalked behind the bar and on the wall by the tables, as well as on the website. Well done. The service is friendly. The food is solid. As far as Martinez goes, I don’t think you’re going to top this place.“

“Biker bar, good bands, service is ok but when it gets crowded it can take up to 15 min to get a beer, can get rowdy but overall good place to get a beer after work.“

“After they remodelled and became more corporate loking, this is still not bad, but now shouldn’t be on here. Old rating: Now some may ask - Why is there a Long’s Drugs in the ratebeer places section. My answer is: how many drug stores do you know of that have an end cap dedicated to Stone Double Bastard and are prominently displaying 3L bottles of Oaked Arrogant Bastard at the check-out stand? This place is amazing considering it’s a drug store. Stone, Moylans, Drakes, Marin Brewing, Paulaner, Youngs, Fullers, and many more at a slightly cheaper price than you’d find elsewhere. This is just one of those places you do a double-take in.“
