74 /100 211 COMMERCIAL ST. Sunday morning may not be the best time for a visit, as it is popular with the brunch crowd. Solid line up of beers though. I chose a flight of 4 of yheir hoppy ales and yhere were no disappointments. Small bar, food available too. Patio. Not on the main drag but pretty accessible. |
76 /100 211 COMMERCIAL ST. As all over in Nevada City parking is an issue. There are meters everywhere, and if you find a vacant spot you may get 2 hrs for a quarter. City parking lot with similar rates isn't far away. But credit cards not accepted! Check the web for locations before going. Food is very good. Service is order at the "bar". This is a bakery/restaurant/bar so the line can be a bit long. Outdoor seating available - but wear a jacket. Had 4 bombers available to go. Actually a great place, but when it's busy getting food and drink is awkward. On the other hand the servitors were really responsive. Next time I'll hope to visit midafternoon. |
70 /100 211 COMMERCIAL ST. Visited last fall on a busy Sunday afternoon. Slightly confusing inside with a combination bakery-sandwich shop-coffee shop and brewery all in one. Beer selection was small but everything we tried was well made and tasty. Beer service was good. Got two bombers to go. Food was iffy - they burned our pizza and food service was slow. Best gingersnaps ever though! |
74 /100 211 COMMERCIAL ST. Three forks is in "downtown" Nevada City, but there is still plenty of street parking around. I took a seat at the smallish bar, which was good, because the place was otherwise pretty busy on a Friday evening. Flights of four available, along with a decent food menu. I had a pizza that took a while but was solid when it showed up. They have a "homemade hot sauce" that really tasted like slightly watered down Sambal Olek. Beer quality was again above average across the board. |
70 /100 123 ARGALL WAY argueably the best beer selection in the area...definitely tops for draft. pretty good food menu, mostly priced well with a few exceptions. |
70 /100 211 COMMERCIAL ST. downtown location is nice. gotta go up front to order, which for us meant waiting in a long line. For what they charge, table service would be nice. Beers all classically good...no standouts, but all solid, and no misses. I liked the food, just found it overpriced. |
80 /100 123 ARGALL WAY Okay I’ve lived here in GV/NC for THREE YEARS and no one told me this place existed. WTF?! Anyways...welcome to your one and only ’real’ beer bar here in the area. You’ve got 16 taps of constantly rotating local danksauce, plus 20 or so bottles fairly priced. The food here for pub food is amazing. Delicious burgers and and fries, not your average schwill food. They usually only have one person running the whole place, so it can take some time to get your orders, but it’s not a big deal as you probably won’t be in a rush anyways! My only complaint is the giant TV blasting sports above the bar. I’d give it a better score on ambience if it wasn’t for that, but the locals love it, so what.
FINALLY we have a spot for dankness in Grass Valley/Nevada City! |
