“Visited December 22, 2013.

I know that the first time I visited Orcutt I wouldn’t have thought I’d ever be back to this quaint little town but yesterday was my 6th stop. This one thanks to DocJitsu for adding this place. Actually, it’s not a bad place and it’s a stone’s throw from Rooney’s and the former Orcutt Brewing Company but it was getting late and I didnt feel like drinking anything at this point. After spending six hours in the car at this point I was ready to just put that hammer down and give it hell. All that said, this isn’t a bad liquor store, for Orcutt / Santa Maria, but over all it’s not something I’d go out of my way for.

This is an actual market / grocery store with a small beer section in the back. I counted two whole doors of good beers opposite a shelf with some neat stuff on it. On that shelf I saw Prairie, Upright, Grassroots, Jolly Pumpkin, Anchorage, New Belgium, Nogne, and Pretty Things. They also had Fantome Hiver on clearance for $9.99, which is what it should be in my opinion. In the fridge are all the usuals like Firestone, Sierra Nevada, Tap It, and Figueroa Mountain. Not a bad selection but it’s a pretty limited selection.

Parking is easy since there is a lot as well as some spots right out front. Prices were reasonable.“

“Mostly a tourist trap with limited grocery items, some considered gourmet. Decent beer selection. Some that not even Oak Knoll down the road has. That said, Oak Knoll has a ton better selection. But it’s always interesting to stop and see what you might find. They have also recently begun to do beer tasting at select times. Prices are pretty unreasonable. But, tourists (and locals) who know no better will pay them.“
