“Awesome selection - probably the best in Ventura county & good friendly service. They also have a great selection of bottles to-go. The prices are not too bad. In a strip mall & a tiny bit lacking a vibe, but had a nice crowd - does trivia on Monday nights.“

“(Visited 03/2015): Public School 805 is located in the Thousand Oaks Promenade shopping center. Parking is plentiful in the plaza.

Outside features a large patio, and inside it is open and has a long bar along the left side and wooden high-top tables on the right. Dark floors and ceilings, and hanging lights. Behind the bar is a brick facade and visible tap handles.

Public School 805 has around 25 beers on tap and flights are available. Beers on draught from breweries like The Bruery, Lagunitas, Saint Archer and Stone and bottled offerings from the likes of Almanac.

Service on the patio on a weekday evening was good. The server was friendly and had a good grasp of the available beers.

The menu at Public School 805 consists of shareable plates, upscale pub food, burgers and the like. My colleagues and I all enjoyed our selections.

All in all this place has a chain feel to it but has a pretty good beer selection and food.“

“Visited December 22, 2013.

This place is bad, even for a Bevmo. I drove around that damned shopping center twice before I found it. Now there is a sign out front but the sun was right above it and the letters are tiny, easily the smallest Bevmo sign that I’ve seen yet. There is another small sign above the shopping carts. Even the delivery van is tiny. The inside of the store is small too. As mentioned earlier, even for Bevmo standards this place is bad. They have one aisle of beer. Well, it’s basically two aisles but the first aisle is liquor on the one side. The other aisle has a bunch of macros and some sodas in it. Added together it’s about one aisle. Half of the available beers are the same tired European imports that every Bevmo seems to be obligated to stock.

The part that would be the saving grace actually makes the store worse. They have two end caps full of IPAs and hoppy beers. Sounds good, right? Well, no, they’re on the end cap and nowhere near a refrigerator. Figueroa Mountain Hoppy Poppy, Coronado Idiot IPA, Ninkasi Domination, Hop Stoopid, Eagle Rock Populist, Left Coast Hop Juice, Mission Ship Wrecked, two beers from Strand, Stone Cali Belgique IPA, Racer 5, Mongo, Hop Rod Rye, Great Divide Titan, Unita Dubhe and Hop Notch, Dale’s Pale, the list goes on. But it’s all sitting there rotting. What a waste of space.

The only thing I considered buying was Hop Stoopid since they were 2 for $8. I will not be returning.“

“Just off the freeway, this BevMo has a pretty decent selection, but nothing really much different than other BevMos in the area. Prices are average, no splitting 6/4-packs, a few limited release beers, but mostly the usual stuff from SoCal breweries and the big name imports.“

“Small selection of beers, but almost all of them are kept in coolers, which is nice. Pretty standard selection of German imports, Chimay, Duvel, and a bunch of fairly standard California/west coast beers. Some Double DBA, so they do at least get some special releases. A few Japanese and Italian beers, too. If you’re around, I guess you could grab some beers here, but might as well go a block down the street to Total Wine.“

“Stumbling distance from Total Wine. Sports bar themed place. Decent draft list with some of the Firestone private label beers. A decent, but unimpressive selection. Prices on the beers were a bit on the ridiculous side, seemed like even standard beers were $7+. Service was at least quick and attentive.“

“Pretty decent sized location, but doesn’t seem to have as many beers as some of the other Total Wines. A bit more Firestone and Ventura area stuff than others. Service was typical Total Wine, as were the prices. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from the chain.“

“Definitelly the best place to buy all kinds of beverages with alcohol content, hugh! I love beer and specially craft beer so they have a part just dedicated to it, you know... I’ll recommend this place to all the beer and wine lovers“

“Huge liquor store with a massive amount of wine and a large amount of beer. Deep and varied selection of beers with excellent prices (e.g., Hair of the Dog Adam at $4.49 per bottle). Definitely worth a look if you are in the area and need to buy some good beer.“

“Swung in for some food and a beer. Ordered a fish sandwich that was not good. Pretty much microwave/deep fried and low quality food. Beer selection was decent with the highlights being sculpin, some firestone beers, and they also have their own beers which I did not try. Setting is like a large, oddly shaped sports bar. Service was good and attentive. Prices were reasonable. Worth a stop for a few beers but I wouldn’t recommend the food.“

“Typical large Total Wine Store. Seems less interesting than the larger store out in Northridge. Still a big selection with some beers you don’t normally see here. For quality you are better off going to Wade’s, but this isn’t bad for the area at all. Plenty of parking. Staff didn’t seem very knowledgeable on my stop. Good prices.“

“It has a lot of styles and brands of beer. This place is huge, it also has sake, tequila, rum and everything you can imagine, and of course, wine. You will feel like a child in a toy store.“

“Good rotation of ales and seasonal. Check web site tap list. House ales are made by Firestone Walker. Bring along a DD, you are in T.O.“

“Ah Bevmo. They have a decent selection of brews with Ballast Point, Stone, Alesmith, Marin, and several other nice breweries. No rarities or special releases really. They did have a nice singles section of belgian and other europian brews. Some decent selection in the cooler area. It is just that I stopped here 2 years ago and there selection virtually the same. Decent store for the area though.“
