“Old building on the west end of main street. Lots of character, and nice bar area. Big biergarten outside, with picnic tables and umbrellas. Counter service only, which is a bit annoying, but the bartender was friendly and helpful. Mostly guest taps, at this point, but they have several of their own, and their spread is quality. The pizzas looked tasty, but I didn't have one. The only downside is the prices. Otherwise, this is a fun little spot.“

“This is my second time eating at a Smokin' Dave's and I am thoroughly impressed with the pulled pork and hushpuppies. If only there was some thin, non-sugary sauce to go along with it then I'd be in heaven. The tap list here is solid, but these days it's nothing particularly noteworthy. You can find a few local brews mixed in with the more widely available stuff.“

“This is the original location, stopped on the way down from RMNP. A bit of a mallish location, pretty large inside though. Not busy at all on a Friday afternoon. Hard to even find the bartender, who seemed rather preoccupied. Taplist was full of OB staples, nothing out of the ordinary, unfortunately. Food was average as well. This is a fun place and all, but in today's market i would expect more. See Avery Brewing for an example.“

“Although we visited the 2 other Oskar Blues locations during my recent GABF visit to Colorado...my local friend insisted I see the place where it all started...Oskar Blue’s original location. I’m glad he took me here. This flet like the right combination of the quirky Tasty Weasel tap room in North Carolina and the larger Liquids and Solids restaurant not far away. This place felt more "real" and less corporate that the L&S restaurant. I would recommend a visit here over the other...definitely more character. Love the bus out front too.“

“Also popped in on my way from Denver to Estes. Glad I stopped in this town it has a nice little business district with local stores. My visit to Oskar Blues was fine but not fantastic. Fun, bright, colorful and a bit cluttered with lots of stuff on the walls (music oriented). The server was a tad slow (and it wasn’t busy at all) and knew nothing about beer. I tried the G’Knight, which was one of the only on tap I hadn’t already tried. The beer was good. I did not try the food, but it looked like basic pub grub. Prices seemed average.“

“Great ambiance, cool beer and rock memorabilia all over the place and it is inside an old barn; the silo is a small arcade! Service was the best I have ever had; waiter got us onto the second floor after dinner without the cover fee and personally moved a table up there for us. He also made an honest mistake on the taster tray I got and gave me multiple free tasters to make up for it. Food is delicious, great southern BBQ. Selection is awesome, maybe 20ish Oskar Blues taps, and thirty more specialty taps from all over the US. Value is a bit off, but tasters are good deals, five four oz. tasters of Oskar Blues beer for $6 I believe. Overall, great place, great service, great beer.“

“Visited with two friends on October 9, 2012 when driving from Denver to Estes Park. Stayed for a few samples of beer but didn’t eat. Good service, nice selection of the standard beers and some seasonals. We sat downstairs at the bar. Nice small town too. I’m glad we made the trip there.“

“Visit on recent trip. Stopped by for dinner. Busy but they handled it well. Enjoyed the flight of their brews. Service was excellent. Think it would be a great place on a night when they have live music.“

“Looks like a good family restaurant located in a small town. Everyone here looks happy. Employees look like they enjoy their job. The sever was Very knowledgable on their selection. We ordered a sampler of all their beers. The food was better than expected. I had cranberry chipotle wings which were sweet and spicy. Enchalada was made right with corn tortilla instead of wheat and was delicious. Service was fast. Loved this place, would come back often if I could but I live in Florida. It's the kind of place I wish I could find in Florida.“

“Visited 7/12. Short wait and shown right into the second story pub that’s clearly a hit with local families. Overlooks a little park. Beer was all the majors with two rotating: priscilla wheat and one nut brown. Enchiladas were spicy and great (especially to a florida boy) and wings had an amaZing cranberry chipotle. Fries were great too. Very great place, glad to see it retain local charm despite growing distribution.“

“(Visited 07/2010): Oskar Blues Grill is in downtown Lyons on Main Street. Parking is fairly abundant in the surrounding lots. The interior is split into an upstairs and downstairs. I only glanced downstairs but it looks like a bar and music venue, whereas the upstairs is more of a "sit-down" restaurant with a smaller bar. After walking past a small gift shop and up a few stairs, the space has a good sized table seating area on the left and a small bar on the right. There is an eclectic array of decor, including artwork, license plates, portraits, etc with a rustic and worn-in smokehouse flavor underneath it all. The available brews are listed on a board behind the bar. As for the beers, there is a pretty good array (9 taps), and a sampler is available for $1/beer. On top of a few of the regular OB brews like Old Chub and Dale’s, there were several on tap I had not seen before, from Leroy and Short Bus to Priscilla Wheat and Viking Malt Liquor. All of the beers were above average. One minor disappointment was no Ten Fidy, but the servers were able to suggest a couple places to look for cans. Speaking of service, it was good on our visit. Our server was punctual and brought samples of everything, going past what was allotted on the tray. The food at Oskar Blues is pretty good. We both had barbecue (ribs, pulled pork) and were satisfied. Overall this place is well worth the drive from Denver to visit.“

“Good bbq on our way up to estes park. It had been a long day so I didn’t do much tap counting, but there were plenty of taps to choose from, mostly local micros. I’d definitely go back.“

“This is a pretty beautiful place to have a beer, especially if you sit out on the porch with the mountain view. When I went I have to admit service was pretty bad - I think it’s family run and most of the servers / busboys were kids, who seemed really stoned, and kept messing up orders. However, I did not come for the food, but for the beer, which is great. OB is one of my favorite CO breweries and its great to have their portfolio consolidated for you on draft, plus, they always have a couple offering available only on draft here and not in stores. Everything is priced right and overall I plan on returning. I’m sure the service isn’t consistently like it was.“

“Hippie joint in a hippie town. A lot of hoppy brews and mostly above average beers (albeit overrated by most commentators). It’s a short trip from Boulder, so I would recommend stopping by here if you’re touring Boulder breweries. Maybe hit this place for lunch, head to Boulder (around 20 minutes), hit Upslope, then Twisted Pine, then Boulder Brewery, and then the Pearl St breweries (Mtn Sun, Draft House, Walnut, BJs).“

“Two nice patios with slow service and smokers but great sun and tunes. Cozy bars upstairs and down. Classic video game room with black lights. Within listening distance from concerts in the park. Well lit seating areas and friendly staff. Needs a bed and breakfast upstairs. Great spot. “

“Went for dinner on a Sunday, and the place was really busy. Not a long wait, but we were ignored when we walked in, and it wasn’t clear if we should seat ourselves, or be seated: awkward. The place has lots of character, stickers and beer-themed decorations abound. Live music was playing at the bar downstairs, and there were a bunch of retro arcade games. Our waitress was pretty good once we were seated. Good selection of pub food, burgers, cajun, BBQ, even gyros. Service was a little slow, but not surprising since every table was full. Looking forward to returning.“

“Nice clean place, we sat outside on the deck on a sunny day. Got great service considering we were the only ones on the deck. Just had some beers and they had a great selection of regular and special beers. Had some brews I haven’t seen anywhere else. Food looked good and would stop by again and eat next time.“

“Stopped here for lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Relaxed restaurant feel with a very pleasant staff. Good food, I had the gyro platter. The beer was excellent as usual and they have a few seasonals only offered at the pubs. Prompt service and decently priced. If I lived around this place, I’d definitely be a regular.“

“Visited during GABF 2009. We really liked this brewpub as it had indoor and outdoor seating available. Indoor seating was on the second floor of the building offering views of the surrounding landscape. Outdoor seating on the south side of the building was in the sun, but on this September day was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, the honey bees kept swarming around us, but other than that a really nice feel to this place. Lunch was good and reasonably priced and beer selection was strong as well. We had hoped to grab a few t-shirts, but the selection was a little sparse. Didnt have a beer in the downstairs area, but it looked cool. Definitely worth the trip when in the local area.“

“Went here for lunch on a Saturday - Lyons has a population of about 1000, and I would say about half of them were in here for lunch (great local reputation) - the clientele didn’t seem to know a whole hell of a lot about beer, but I digress - standard bar and grill atmosphere, but the arcade downstairs is a very nice touch (I didn’t get to play) - the menu made the food sound good, but it is not - the service was good - smiling - prompt - friendly - honestly, I found the beer selection unimpressive (standard stuff you can find in stores, plus another pale and a nut brown) - is the beer good? - sure it is, but the selection and level of creativity with the pub only brews seems lacking - there is not much that sets this place apart from other good brewpubs that aren’t in tiny, out of the way mountain towns - if this brewer were not at the forefront of the "canned craft beer revolution," I doubt that many people that didn’t live close by would be visiting it.“

“This place is great. Interior decoration is fun, cd labels act as wall paper, and there are odd portraits all around from a local artist. The food was pretty good, our waitress was snarky but fun, and of course, the beer is excellent. My rating would be even higher if they had any guest taps.“

“I really liked this place. I visited on a Saturday afternoon with a couple buddies and thought it was odd how empty the dining room was given that there was a festival and kayaking competition going on in the park right across the street. We later discovered that everyone was sitting outside on the deck & patio that we’d failed to notice when we entered. 9 beers on tap. All solid, but ironically, the best were their "regulars" versus the seasonals (a departure from many places). The Silo Burger (1/2 lb of beef topped with pulled pork and hot sauce), which we all ordered, was a hit but the artichoke nachos weren’t anything special. 80’s pop/rock hits (Yaz, Corey Hart, Eurythmics, etc) ran the entire time we were there, and like others have mentioned, they have vintage video games I hadn’t seen for nearly 20 years. Overall, a cool place to hang out, grab a bite & enjoy some solid craft beer. I’ll definitely be back.“

“My favorite local hang. Great food. Always good music, and it is truly a part of the community in Lyons. Dale is a cool fucking dude. Humble, good dad, pretty good at Ultimate. You’d never guess they were on their way to becoming a regional brewery. Only thing you really want to drink is their stuff, always something new on tap. Not that they have ant selection of anything else.“

“Hah. What a weird town to be home to the World’s Mecca of canned beers. There is not very much as far as civilization in Lyons. It was an hour or less drive from Denver and well worth it. We made two trips up here. The place has a lively atmosphere. About 8 or 10 beers were on upstairs in the main dining area. We ate some pretty delicious etouffe and pot roast. I couldn’t get over the people drinking Budweiser from the bottle at the table next to me. Ten Fidy on tap, Gordon on tap, and they drink Bud. Anyway, the downstairs has an awesome vintage arcade with Super Mario Bros. among over 20 other games. Super Mario Bros. really pisses me off, btw. The downstairs bar had all the beers on tap except for two, so it was a good place to post up after our meal and on our next visit. Oskar Blues has such unique personality and very imperssive beer. I strongly recommend visiting.“

“Visited sometime last fall. Groovy little spot with really off the wall items covering its walls. Server was chiill. Was expecting a few more selections on tap, but there was only the regs which we get up in Washington, so that was a bit dissappointing. Got a pint of Ten Fidy, which rocked. My sandwich was great too! Definitely worth a stop, but if you’re doing some serious hunting, you may way to call and see if they’ve got anything special on tap first.“

“Pretty cool little place tucked right into the foot of the mountains about 20 minutes NW of Boulder. Nice southern-style decor that really makes you feel at home. People are friendly and kind there, also. Usually a pretty nice selection of beers on tap and for sale. Haven’t had the chance to eat there or see any of the live music, but they are constantly inviting artists. Definitely a place I would visit if I was around the area, it is much different from any other pub/brewery I have been too.“

“Visited on a Friday for lunch. Located in a tiny strip mall, which normally would not be a good thing. But they had a nice deck that was overlooking the mountains, and it was very pretty. The inside seemed like an old blues bar, but not dirty. Our service was very good, as the waitress was friendly and witty. They only had five beers to sample, but all were very good. I had a hamburger, and it was also very good. They didn’t have a ton of merchandise, which may have been my only complaint. All in all, well worth a trip to see some of the most gorgeous scenery both driving into town and on the deck, as well as some outstanding beer and great food.“

“Definitely not what I had expected. For a brewer who makes renowned canned products, a top 50 Imperial Stout (is that hard these days?) and has had lots of good buzz, I was surprised to see a rather unassuming music joint. Down in the basement, amongst pool, a stage and lots of locals drinking Coors, were four pours, including good old Ten FIDY. Bartender was earnestly friendly, but not really aware of how well received the products are or knowing that much about them. Growler is the best deal. Cheaper than buying by the pint.“

“nice place. good service. food is very descent. Small selection of beers. one guest tap. lyons is out of the way. with such a small selection of beers not really worth the trip unless your travels are bringing you through updated 10/12/07 more selections on tap including tenfidy. There selection had grown from 5 to 7 and tenfidy was worth the trip for me. I’d like to see a show here some time but it is out of the way.“

“A great little pub in a great little mountain town. The upstairs is more of a family friendly environment. Downstairs is where the real fun happens, with poster strewn walls and a long bar topped with two inch thick flagstaff. A small room in the back housed about a dozen old school video games. They had their usual selections (Dales, Old Chub, One Nut) on tap along with Gordon (double IPA) and a few guest taps from Redfish (Boulder). We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were surprised that a Country Western band from LA was rolling through and were playing that afternoon. All the shows there are non-smoking now too. Didn’t try the food, but it looked good as the waitresses carried it out from the kitchen. Definitely a unique stop and well worth the drive from Boulder.“

“Quite good food, surprisingly enough (considering its location and status as a brewpub), but they do Louisiana style cookin’ and they don’t hold back on the spices. Average beer for the most part, with their currently fame derived from the ubiquitous Dale’s Pale Ale and Old Chub. I usually pick the Irish stout, though. Ambiance is kind of lazy and rough, but fine. Nice people run this place, and the service is accordingly good.“

“Great beer, great burgers (that's all I've had there), and great live music. It can get a little smoky at times, but that's my only qualm. The place has a lot of personality ... it's a little "rusty" around the edges, but it makes for a good blues venue.“
