“Warehouse-style. Not that much different than a total wine to me. Total wines are fine. This place is also fine.“

“Poorly lit taproom, service was fast and friendly. Selection was okay. Most of the beers were terrible. Id skip this place!“

“Huge warehouse place with more than 50 fridges of beer. OK, most of those fridges are 4 packs or larger, but there are several of them with singles. Also there is a shelf with special singles, some under the lock being sold one per customer. On top of that there is a fridge room with several hundred bottles. Also some crowlers inside. I wouldn't say there is something ultra rare, but certainly a lot of good and special brews. Lots of locals also. Guys working there were happy to help.“

“Pretty cool little brewery close to the highway. English pub type-feel to the tasting room. The selection when I went was somewhat limited. Their brew system is smaller than mine at home so they run out of selections a lot. Very friendly staff pleased to give huge tastes of anything they have before you order a whole one.“

“Above average local place next to Godfather's Pizza. Some beers are average, some are top notch. Selection always varies with a few standards. Worth a drop in if you are in the area.“

“For being the "World’s Largest Liquor Store" they sure suck at beer. Very average selection. Don’t go here expecting to find some gems.“

“This is a gigantic liquor store, but a lot of beer space is wasted on tons and tons of BMC. The coolers filled with 24 packs of Bud Light from top to bottom with the sign "premium" above it really crack me up. The best things about this store are the prices overall and the majority of the beer is refrigerated. I saw a few six packs that I haven’t seen elsewhere in town, but nothing that really piqued my interest. There weren’t any rarities and the bomber selection is kind of limited, but you will be able to find something worthwhile.“

“Big warehouse liquor store with one wall of beer in coolers and on shelves. Decent selection, the prices seemed a little high compared to a few other places I’ve picked up beer.“

“Humungous store. Although it seems like a disproportionate amount of the beer space is spent on 24-pk and 30-pk of Bud/Miller/Coors products. Decent selection of craft beer, but you would think they could do better based on the size of the store.“

“In a partially vacant, ghetto-ass shopping center in Thornton (which, by the way, is a pit) - kind of like a low-rent version of the Westminster location - respectable selection, but pales in comparison to the other warehouse liquor stores in the area, despite having just as much space, if not more - no real point in coming here unless you are unfortunate enough to be in this part of Thornton.“

“The store is huge! Aside from being big, the selection was a bit of a let down. A store this size you would expect to find anything and everything, but the selection was mostly mainstream (common) items spread out in 5-10 facings to appear like a full stock. Nice walk-in humidor. Has a tasting bar with kitchen, but when there it was full of sales people and looked like it was more of an office than a tasting spot. The prices were pretty good I have to say, but again common items only. The service was not the best either, but worth a stop.“

“Checked out this place and the Westminster location the same weekend. Have to admit that it is a huge warehouse style liquor, but is very underwhelming. Doesn’t seem to have as large of a selection as the Westminster location and there was really no one around to help me. I would have rated this place a little lower, but I did find some 3F just sitting on the shelf, which made my day. OK, but ten other Denver locations I would go to first.“

“This place is pretty much my mecca. Stopped on a recent trip to Denver, as friend in the area has told me over and over that I needed to go. She was right! Coming from Montana, where the selection isn’t that great outside of macros and Montana brews, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of beers, wines, and liquors. The only thing that could make it better would be if it was closer to me! Lets just say that I dropped a bit more money than I needed to, and that I’m already plotting another trip to Denver, partially to restock my beer supply!“

“Fairly large bomber/750 section but you can find all the same stuff at the Westminster location and the Westminster location seems to have some other stuff that this location doesn’t. Worth a stop if you need something and you’re on I-25 looking for a quick stop but otherwise, just go to the Westminster location.“

“I am not sure why people are bashing this place. Sure, service is non-existent but who honestly needs help bottle shopping? Not me. ALL the beers are refrigerated, which is something you don’t see very often. I thought the selection was decent, which included Belgians and European beers. They carried all the regional breweries, including some limited release stuff. They had a respectable west coast showing as well, including Russian River, Lost Abbey, Deshcutes, Stone, etc. Is it worth the trip from Denver out to Thorton? Of course not, but I was staying with friends in Erie and I was glad that we did not have to make a long drive to find great beer. So it’s located in a strip center. Big f***ing deal. Many liquor stores are.“

“Huge building and not even fully used yet. Decent selection, cheaper prices than most Denver/Boulder stores, wine and port sale prices were impressive. Seems the beer selection has expanded immensely since the last reviewer’s visit. Thornton sucks and this place is located next to a huge collection of Home Depot/Walmart strip mall type stores and the fat suburbanites crowding the aisles suck.“

“Very large warehouse type liquor store. Huge cooler section full of box sixers and bombers. They have 3 door cooler single section that fives 27% discount if you mix a six pack. Large selection of bombers and 750’s from Port/ Lost Abbey, Stone, Boulevard, Brewdog, Russian River,Great Divide, New Belgium Lips of Faith and a ton of other quality local breweries. I picked up a mixed sixer and an Arrogant Bastard Pint glass for $14. Not to bad. Would be a regular is I lived in the area.“

“This is not only the best place on the north side of Denver, It’s the only place worth saying you stopped in and got a little tipsy. They do wine and beer tastings on friday and saturday, specials all the time, and a classic car show and wine and mead tasting on June 13 and 14th of 2009. Not maybe the best, but I dare you to find some place else with as much going on.“

“First of all this ratman197 guy looks like he is just spamming his uneducated comments on this web site, making his opinion useless. You find a liquor store that is better. The people are awesome there. The Store manager rick will bend over backwards to get you anything and everything you can ask for... if its available in Colorado he’ll get it. Great selection, not everything but hey no one can carry every wine, beer and spirit you know lets be realistic!!! Great place!“

“If you’re looking for somewhere with almost everything, go here. Good place, absolutely huge! Awesome selection, bigger cold storage than the entirety of most liquor stores. Great selection of macros, micros, locals, etc. They even have a whole aisle of aging/aged beers. They’ll also happily order you anything they don’t already have. I like to stop in when I’m in town and always find something new I haven’t tried yet.“

“Holy crap. Pretty much any beer available in the area is here and sold in singles. Prices were just as good as any other store I visited. My main beef is that mega stores with such a vast catalogue generally have old dusty bottles on the shelf. But this place seems to have good rotation. A few things I wanted had a shelf tag, but were sold out. Thankfully I didn’t have the capacity to bring anything back home, so I limited my shopping greatly. Otherwise, I probably would’ve drained my bank account here. This is absolutely worth a drive from Denver if you’re looking for some local beers.“

“Huge mega liquor store, clean, well laid out. Easy to find, about 3 minutes east of I25, 10 minutes north of downtown. They had one longish shelf full of quality imports, and domestic micros. The cooler space for micros and imports was pretty limited, and the selections of what they kept cold were a little odd. Rochefort 10 cold, Blind Pig and Pliny warm, for example. Overall, selection was good and the prices seemed about right. I did not see anyone working the floor looking to help out, though the store is laid out well enough that service is not all that important. Worth the trip, on my visit they had a better selection than Argonaut.

76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“It’s big, but it’s really not *that* big. Far from the biggest in the world, I’m sure. Square footage does not equal good selection, regardless. Lots of wasted space too. Wide aisles are nice for avoiding other shoppers, but there’s so much room in here for more product, one has to assume they are waiting until they get enough cash flow to justify it. It’s not a good location, after all, so I could see this place drying up and blowing away. Their beer department just plain SUCKS...four or five doors of singles, maybe ten of six packs. And nothing particularly sought after that I can’t find equally well elsewhere (and in more predictable condition...the ’07 Saison Dupont I bought here was slightly skunked already). Big disappointment based on the size of the place. The only reason to drive out to this rather remote place? Liquor. Best prices I’ve seen, easily. Bigger selection than most on that point too, but still a bit short of amazing. The wine department is ho-hum...reasonably large selection, but I’ve definitely seen better. I just knew their website flaunting the size would end up resulting in disappointment, and so it has. But yeah, I’ll be back when I want to stock up on the hard stuff. My scores are based on the beer alone, though, considering this *is* a beer rating site.“

“Large open liquor store with roomy aisles and well lit. The service is fairly good, especially from the beer manager. The selection is decent, but not much better than Total Bev.( Why can’t more liqour stores be like Liquormax!) Overall not a bad place to shop if it wasn’t in the middle of nowhere.“

“Pdee was nice enough to drive me out to this place two years ago and I never bothered to rate it. Very solid selection with lots of beers in coolers and lots on the shelves. Plenty of stuff (I spent $150 and could have spent a lot more) not availible to me in Florida including many CO and other regional micros not availible in the southeast. Definitely worth a trip.“

“This place is huge! And while it is very clean and the selection is pretty good, there were some empty spaces in the coolers and on the shelves. Prior to stopping here I had checked out the TB website. Many of what is listed is NOT available at the store. While I can understand the store not having everything I was hoping to find, what was most bothersome was the service. It took me at least five minutes to find a clerk and he was of no help whatsoever! He proceeds to get another clerk, he too was of no help. My wife later refferred to them as "dumb & dumber"! I was looking for Colorado micros and these guys never once offered to look in the store room or check the computer. Fortunately another customer came over to answer my questions and he was very helpful. I was hoping to just make one liquor stop while in Denver, but ended up going to Applejack’s in Wheat Ridge and found the CO micros I was looking for.“

“This was my first trip to TB. Huge store, nice and clean. Great beer and wine selection. I haven’t been to the other top 2 or 3 beer stores in CO yet, but TB definitely had the largest selection I have seen. I was in a little bit of a hurry so I breezed by a lot of things that normally I would have taken more time to check out. I have a couple of "local" liquor stores that rival TB in terms of micro selection, but TB blows them away in terms of imports. Tons of belgians, germans, english, and other imports. I did not ask for any help, but was asked a couple of times if I needed any.“

“Thanks to pdee for driving my happy ass out to this joint! The selection was pretty good… loads of CO beers, some Stone, Avery, Hair of the Dog, and Bear Republic stuff, some rather rare imports that I don’t see around FL. The prices seemed a bit on the high side… but that was fine because I just wanted to find some new beers. The staff were all a bunch of retards! It took them at least 5min to check me out at the register… but this place is worth the stop!“

“this place has a decent selection, they just are to lazy to pull out of date imports [ not the kind that age,the kind that get raunchy]. The old beer manager Rick is full of it. One time he told me if it was available in the front range they could get it. I came in with a list of cases of barleywine I pickup every yeaR AND ALL HE WOULD SAY IS WE DONT HAVE IT. i EVEN OFFERED TO PAY UP FRONT! The Wine co. orders beer for me all the time but I guess Total thinks there to big to worry about $300 special orders.“

“This is a good store in a good location, but it has terrible parking. There is a huge selection of singles, a ton of Belgians and everything is in good order. They have a ton of coolers and a "pick your own six-pack" section where they give you 27% off the total price of the sixer. Most everything I desire I can find! Except they have an odd lacking of Rogue ales.“

“The best store in Colorado, although Nick and Liquor Max in Loveland are closing in fast. Excellent selection, not so great service (they never have enough cashiers and they are slow). I also once got into an argument with a jerk that worked there for parking my Harley too close to the entrance (it wasn’t, the guy just didn’t seem to like bikers), although I got a polite response and a discount offer after I complained in an e-mail.“

“Very good overall selection and great selection of Belgians, but they miss obvious beers they should get and are very slow to get some others. For instance, they still don’t have Oskar Blues Old Chub. They only got one case of Avery’s The Beast, and they don’t carry Rogue Old Crusty even though I can get it in Boulder. Updating comment: The more I go to this place the more they piss me off. I asked them when they are getting Great Divide’s barley wine (becuase they don’t have it) and they told me the distributor was out so they can’t get it. How does the biggest liquor store in the state not get first dibs from the distributor?“

“In the three times I've visited this year, I can't say I was too pleased with my experiences at Total Beverage. In addition to the trailer-trash crowd and cheap-supermarket feel, the selection was not what I expecting. Granted, the selection was good, but I'm not sure I would call it the best in Colorado. It is easy to get to when traveling through Denver, located not more than a couple of blocks to the east of I-25. For such a large store, beer takes up a surprisingly small volume of the store, with most floor and shelf space used for wine. The beer is divided among wall coolers and warm shelves, and while they seem to have a LOT of different bottles, they lack the really rare gems you might want on your way through. Not bad, but don't expect it to be one of the best. They could really benefit from a larger glassware collection.“
