“Visited on a Saturday for lunch after a visit to the mine site. Located in a little shopping plaza. The taproom is modern, with a mine theme, dark colours, big patio. Service was friendly and prompt. Ordered a chicken salad which hit the spot. The beers were solid, nothing outstanding but well made. Flight of 5 for 12$ which is good deal nowadays.“

“Nice brewpub in downtown Asbestos, very close to the old mine. Well thought out mining theme. There is ample parking, and ample seating both inside and on the patio. Service is fast and efficient. They have a full menu of mostly pub food items, the food was OK, prices were definitely on the low side, quite cheap overall and decently good value. Beers are pretty much all good quality though nothing spectacular. By and large worth a visit if you're seeking a beer anywhere near Asbestos.“

“Bel endroit décoré sous une thématique minière, visité un jeudi peu après l’ouverture, dix de leurs bières en fût. Service rapide et attentionné. Les prix sont très bons (palette de dégustation 6x4 onces pour 8,70$). La nourriture est aussi très bonne (panini de sanglier (9,99$), dessert et un verre de dégustation inclus), les bières sont bien faites et goûteuses. J’y retourne assurément si je suis dans le coin.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon and we stayed for diner.

Ambiance: Large industrial interior with a nice and unique concept around the mining industry which is a large part from the history of the town where the brewpub is located. In terms of comfort, a huge + for the padded chairs and for the padded armchairs. It wasn’t very crowded when we visited, but since it’s one large space I can imagine it being loud when it’s full.

Service: Friendly and quick service from a smiling waitress that knew what was on the menu and was able to explain the basics about the beers. The owner/brewer also came for a quick conversation and gave us interesting info about his product.

Selection: 10 taps with 9 of their beers and 1 from another brewery. I was really impressed by their classic low abv style like their Kölsch, Amber Ale and Irish Ale... all flawless and really enjoyable. A bit less impressed by the hoppy line-up, but I’m not worried it will vastly improve over time. When you can do some pretty good low abv beers like that, the rest will folllow. There was also some test batches available in bottles to go, but the long term plan is canning some of their offerings.

Food: Food was good and well priced. We had the Fish N Chips and a sandwich and both were tasty and the portions were reasonable. Nothing groundbreaking here, but some pretty decent pub food.

Value: Price for the beer was pretty good and price for the tasters was even better. 10$ for 6 tasters is hard to beat.

Overall: I definitely recommand a visit to this place and I will certainly be back sooner than later. For those who think this is far, I strongly suggest to visit Moulin 7 (Asbestos) and L’Hermite (Victoriaville) who are about 30-35 minutes apart by car and also are two new breweries from the Québec beer scene that we will hear about (in a positive way) for years to come.

“Une très belle micro-brasserie pour Asbestos. Un beau décors dans un concept minier, de la musique, beaucoup de monde, une belle ambiance et un service décent, mais pas encore très éduqué pour ce qui est des connaissances brassicoles. Les bières sont simples, mais très réussies pour une brasserie qui débute. Ça promet!“
