“On the main north-south route to town, just before the dam. Free street parking limited to 60 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes after opening on a Wednesday to find every table occupied both upstairs and downstairs; the bar was empty, but also filled about 5 minutes after I sat down. The crowd cleared right after lunch though. A full 25 beers on tap, three of those were guest taps. Female brewer hard at work, brewhouse visible through glass in the back of the ground floor. Two bartenders were going absolutely berzerk with the crowds, both were perpetual motion machines - to the point where it was stressful to watch. Doubly painful to watch them discard whole beer after whole beer if the pour was slightly foamy. I felt guilty ordering a flight, especially when I found out it was a flight of six; but they were churning them out rapidfire so I went for it. The beers were mostly tasty with an occasional outstanding one (the foreign stout). Food was decent enough pub food, fairly small portions. Plenty of kids present but no dogs. Decent enough stop.“

“Visité un dimanche soir d'août 2018. C'est réellement la place qui attire le monde au "centre-ville" de Matane alors que la place était bondée comparativement au reste de la rue qui était presque déserte. Beau menu de plus de 20 bières de la place avec quelques bières invitées. La bouffe est superbe et on a droit bien sûr aux plats avec les fameuses crevettes. La poutine aux crevettes est d'ailleurs sublime. Bon service, bonnes bières. J'y retournerais sans problème.“

“Stopped in here last week while on a Motorcycle trip. Eclectic industrial type feel to the space small bar on the right tables to the left brewery in the back left behind glass. They had 12 of their own beers as well as 4 or 5 guest tap that were all quality. The beers had were good to outstanding. Food was also top notch and somewhat foodie I think, hard to tell when you trouble reading the menu. The woman behind the bar took pity on me and helped quite a bit. Just about as pricy as anything decent I had on this trip. I’d go back in a heartbeat, great brewpub!“

“Yet another eastern-Quebec gas station with a convenience store that has a craft beer section. They tried to do something nice with this one, the isolated craft beer section is decorated and inviting. But what matters is the selection and this is weak, it appears that many delivery truck coming from western Quebec don’t go any farther than Rimouski (1h west of Matane). So if you are doing a tour of eastern-Quebec (which is pretty nice I must say) then fill up in Rimouski because after Rimouski it is too late. So beer shopping might be pretty lame in Matane but locals probably don’t care because they have La Fabrique, the best brewpub in Eastern Quebec.“

“Nice little place, locals seem to agree this is the last interesting bar/pub in town. I came in with no expectations and ended up being very pleasantly surprised. Ambiance was nice, service was super fast, waitresses knew their products. They had 11 of their own products available, and about 10 guest beers and a very nice whiskey selections.Food was good and everything was quite affordable. I’d go back anytime.“

“Visited for the first time July 10, 2012. I was happy to know that the place was opened on Tuesday in the summer, I would not like to change my plants for my vacation in Gaspe, moreover, there is nothing to do in Matane. In a town where you only stop for eat, gaz and sleep, you would not expect to have a beer bar or a brewpub, much less a good one, well they do! On top of their beers (Caltor was good and Salamagone was great), they a very good bottle liste, mostly Quebec brew but some unexpected imported like Moylans, in Matane! The food menu is not big but of good things delicious, I would have to go back for more beer and food. As for the place it self, a nice unassuming pub in the middle of a almost lifeless downtown, two floors with the oper one for live shows. There was only one waitress, but she was good, fast, and she was very familiar with beers! This is a great place in a town where people see it as a spot on the map.“

“I don’t know how good this once was, but one thing is for sure: they aren’t too good for beer these days. Half of their selection was severely out-of-date (beers from closed breweries, 2-year-old session beers out of the fridges, lots of bottles from problematic breweries, etc.) The only bottles which seemed to be in good shape were the Naufrageur and Pit Caribou, and Unibroue (they were in the fridges). If you are in Matane, I don’t know if there is anything better, but if you are driving all the way here, you should stop in Rimouski at Jessop to get a MUCH better selection, in fridges too.“
