70 /100 11 RUE DE LA CHAUSEE There is no tasting room at Brasserie Theillier, nor any posted hours. If you call ahead to confirm a time, you can stop in to buy bottles much like the locals of Bavay. The brewer Michael said that the brewery likely won’t stay open more than a few years. His parents are very old and he has no heir and stated that he had no desire to sell. So he will go on living and managing the estate but the brewery may not last. Visit while you can, but enjoy the experience and the chance to personalize a family legacy of brewing, more than the beer. Though still keep your mind open, the same products appear to go out unfiltered and filtered into different packaging. Funny enough, we could not find bottle-conditioned 750ml bottles of La Bavaisienne like what appeared in the states in the past. |
