58 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Yay, Carrefour's, the famous French supermarket chain. To us Brits it's full of exciting & unusual stuff... but then I suspect French folk feel the same way about Tesco's in the UK. My most recent experiences were the medium-sized town centre store in Calais a year or so before Covid (clean, fresh, a lovely place to shop), and a medium sized central Paris store in August 2023 (a bit grubby, gloomy, but ok). Clearly (and just like all UK supermarket chains) there's a big variation from store to store. One thing I did notice that had changed over the intervening period though was the huge growth in the amount of French craft beer stocked, paralleling the general growth in the craft sector in France. As before, there are still all the usual big French brands - Kronenbourg, Ch'Ti, Goudale, Jenlain, along with high strength industrial lagers etc - and also Pietra for people needing a Corsica tick. However, the beer shelves are now much extended, and in Paris included bigger craft brands from the north east of France such as Paris, Bapbap, Gallia, Saint Cru, and... um... Brewdog (they really are everywhere!). We also went to similar-sized stores of rival supermarket chains Auchan and Monoprix whilst we were in Paris, and they seemed to have a marginally better beer selection than Carrefour. However, there's plenty enough craft beer in even a mid-sized Carrefour to keep most British and other non-French Ratebeerians happy (and at very reasonable prices). On the flip side, I suspect that French Ratebeerians feel the same way about Carrefour's beer choice as us Brits do about Tesco's... |
100 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET It's Carrefour in France! and other European countries. Always excellent value and a great selection of BEERS! |
50 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET The beer selection varies quite a bit from one store to another. Reasonable prices. The stores really need to be listed separately. |
28 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Not really worthy places, Spain: mainstream beers, nothing interesting. France: depending of the area, some interesting locals, still limited selection, but fair prices. |
38 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Carrefour, Avda. del Atlántico, Vecindario, Gran Canaria. Mostly Spanish lager bers, cheap Carrefour beers and some of the usual suspects from Germany and Belgium. Would like to see some more Spanish craft beer. My best buy were to beers from Daviyun. (Visited June 30th 2015) |
48 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Decent selection of French and Belgian beers for me. Belgian beers, Biere de garde and cidres. Very cheap as well, about a €1 60 for Orval. |
38 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Carrefour, Avda. del Atlántico, s/n
Vecindario, Gran Canaria, Spain - north of Maspalomas. Many Carrefour beers and others Spanish main stream including other European beers. Low price and a possibility to taste many beers when visiting Maspalomas. |
12 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Not worth a visit |
76 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Actually went to the CarreFour at B-Park just up the road from here, true hypermarket. Great selection of your standard beers and great prices e.g. Houblon for 5 ish euros for a 4 pack. |
48 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET I’ve been to their supermarkets at either end of the country and have always found their beer selection to be extensive enough to please a visitor like me who is looking to try new things, although that said the vast majority of their range are lagers and plenty of these are quite high in alcohol content which seems to cater more for the drunk rather than someone looking to enjoy some flavour. Has some of its own brands to try as well as a mainly French, Belgian and Dutch selection. |
34 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Good beer selection. Also great variety of food and gadgets. |
30 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Zwyczajna ofeta hipermerketowa czyli piwa z koncernów, fragment (raczej ten bardziej klasyczny) oferty browarów regionalnych typu Ciechan, Lwówek, Kormoran, Fortuna oraz popularne piwa zagraniczne, które można dostać w wielu marketach. Raczej nic ciekawego. |
46 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Well it is Carrefour. Decent for tickers like me. Nothing crazy but found few new brews, some from Russia and few locals. Service typical to such place which is average at best. |
54 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Supermarket. Decent selection of real ales from local breweries. Look for the Producteurs Locaux" section. |
50 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Visited Carrefour Steenvorde, a few miles from Cassell, Friday afternoon 22/03/13.
Medium sized supermarket with a beer aisle.
Maybe 25 to 30 or so bottles, largely French plus some Belgian offerings. Mainly pale lagers, premium lagers and a few beire de gardes, not much of a range in terms of differing styles. Prices fairly reasonable.
Service adequate - just an average supermarket range akin to a Tesco in the UK. The food and wine most definately edged the beer! |
60 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Been to a few, but mostly to the one in Ségny near the border to Switzerland. OK selection of French and Belgian beers. Since prices are low it is a good place to stock up on "favorites". Generally won’t find anything too exciting, though. |
40 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET It’s a supermarket, you won’t get any advice or even find anyone around. But they do have a very decent selection of Belgian and British ales, two shelves actually, prices are reasonable. Not much of Polish beers other than the commercial stuff but it’s not bad either. |
22 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET how the hell has this gotten on ratebeer ?
no craftbeer . decent selection, but NO CRAFTBEER .
needles to say why i rate this place down, i guess ? |
58 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Dobry market przy trasie, spory parking i sporo kompleksow handlowych. Polecam ten supermarket. |
62 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Interesting way to merge a bunch of place ratings, but it makes sense. Carrefour can be anything from higher end and enjoyable to cramped, dumpy, and dusty. But they do sell a lot of beer, wine, and even cider. They have the cheapest prices for buying cases of decent French, German, and Belgian beer. But most importantly, they have house brand beer, wine, and cider. So you can definitely get some ticks from just stopping in here. You can also buy singles of anything as far as I know. Also, some higher end Carrefours like Carrefour Market will sell incredible pre made food including some of the best tiramisu you will ever have. No joke. |
28 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Place is now a Carrefour and selection of beers is quite small. Just a small neighbourhood supermarket, not worthe while. |
16 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Supermarket store not really worth a visit. Apart from the KEO pilsner form Cyprus the selection is just all the usual stuff that every store around here carries. As a added downpoint most beer had to be bought in 4 or 6 packs. |
40 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET A supermarket store with a moderate selection. Still you can find a good belgian such as Houblon Chouffe or the Chimays. |
66 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Probably biggest supermarket in France with a gorgeous styled interior, looks like a market. Food selection, especially cheese, is huge and you do get some nice beers and also quite a few special ciders. |
62 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Been to a couple of Carrefours in the North Western region of France recently and was pretty surprised by there selection.
Ok, it is not a beer store, but they have a nice selection of beers and ciders (and of course wines, spirits, soft drinks, food, etc. etc.)
They have a lot of crappy stuff (imperial pils and malt liquors), Belgian beers (Duvel, Leffe, etc.), Ciders (Bretagne and Normandie).
But also local stuff, from local micro and macro breweries. Got some nice micro stuff for very affordable prices, that’s a big plus.
Decent prices for this overall a bit more expensive supermarket for all their beers, ciders, wines and liquors.
I don’t think the Carrefour is such a bad place for beer, specially when there isn’t much else in town to get some beer.
Wouldn’t mind hitting some others when in France again. |
64 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Not in the city center. But you can give your wife a couple of hours on her own. While you shopp beer. Located in a huge shopping mall. Nice selection of not only polish beers. Some unusual Belgian as well. |
60 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Decent place to pick up some Belgian beer, it’s all they have! Gift packs and specials and seasonals also available. |
14 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Not worth a visit or listing here, the only beer found here which you dont find in any cornerstore is the Amstel Bock. None beers from Craft, no Belgians at my visit, and the store is now a Champion store, owned by the same group that is behind Carrefour. |
42 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET It’s a supermarket chain!!! Carrefour is the second largest store chain in the world after wal-mart. How is this on ratebeer??!
Anyway, if you don’t get raped in a dark corner of one of their sticky, poorly maintained stores, you can sometimes find all three Chimays and a few other ok Belgium beers. The only upside is that they are the cheapest place to buy Chimay in Paris, or maybe the world, for all I know. |
40 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Worth visiting when in France, ok selection of french and belgian beer, also some dutch and german. Mostly industrials but the belgian and some of the french are nice |
62 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET When in France, your best bet for decent beers is likely to be a supermarket such as Carrefour. Carrefour do a decent range of French and Belgian beers, and will usually stock local beers. They have a fondness for the Normandy/Brittany beers, and shops all around the country will often have those. If you’re looking for the French microbreweries, the best place is Carrefour. For certain, Carrefour is better than the local bar or Irish pub! |
68 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Decent cheap source of Eastern European beers in the Antwerp area. |
64 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET huge supermarket in Eastern Europe’s biggest shopping centre. Huge selection of beer: all the usual suspects plus some beers from small, regional breweries. They have beers from Cieachan, Lomza, Lwówek Slaski, and some hard to find mainstream brews, like Okocim Porter and Pszeniczne. Even after visiting Wine of Dreams aI was able to find a dozen or more new beers. |
52 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET Added this place as it is usually one of the best places to find interesting beers in Colombia in general. This one is in the affluent north of town (Usaquen) and tends to carry a few interesting European beers everytime I visit. Good shopping, and around meal times, loads of "obsequios" (free snacks) around the deli section. |
52 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET This is a supermarket in the heart of the city center and straight up the street about maybe 6 blocks from the train station. They have a nice selection of produce, meats, cheeses, a couple kinds of glassware, liqour, bread, and wine. Their beer selection is not too bad with some things I haven’t seen elsewhere in the short time I’ve been in France. At least one of the check-out ladies speaks English. |
40 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET The biggest Carrefour is in the Arkadia shopping centre, where there’s also a strong booze department which has a few meads too. Other Carrefours have a decent selection of Polish beers, so there’s not a huge need to go all the way out to Arkadia. (Note, the google maps link for Bierhalle Arkadia seems to fail, so I’ve not just copied its address here.) You’ll find most of the pissy lagers, ESLs, and MLs here, oh joy... Dark beers are alas a rarity. The Fraters are a scoop though - don’t miss them. Checkout staff are lobotomised. |
48 /100 Carrefour (Various locations in Europe) (Beer Store) 26 QUAI MICHELET, LEVALLOIS-PERRET next-largest sleecton of macro spanish, and wider distribution foreign beers i have spotted on the island. (el corte ingles has double as many as carrefour). They seem to have most stuff the spanish macro breweries have in circulation (50 different i guess), as well as a good selection of english, german and dutch household names. i also found check, bulgarian, danish, australian, argentina and few other countries. after 12 days in mallorca, emptying supermarkets all over the place, these guys still had 22 differnt beers i had not yet seen other places. So.. good place to find that mahou, damm or san miguel you can’t seem to find elsewhere on the island. The belgians they had here were not the same as the belgians they have in the belgian beer shop in alcudia. |
