“Large store on the border of the city. Being part of a chain of ~10 Belgian beer stores I didn’t expect much character. However the layout is nice with a large bar area (6 taps I believe), crates of Belgians in the middle, singles of Belgian and some French stuff on the right, as well as a fair amount of glasses, and some random gift packages and such spread around. Typical French non-modern selection that’s focused on the Belgian medium sized brewers (with some oddities) and only a handful French bottles of not so interesting yet not common blond/brune/blanche. Prices aren’t very attractive. No modern French micros here. It seems this is the best it gets in Limoges, but there’s a long way to go...“

“The actual brewery of Bières Michard. Modern, large, seemingly purpose-build place with their surprisingly large installation, simple tables, a small tap space and a large outdoor patio. During lunch hour I saw some people with food but unsure of they actually serve dishes. Their full line up is available on tap, but that’s a feat with only the traditional French 4 styles they make. Bottles are available for takeaway, all which are cooled, but only per sixpack at 14 euro. Service was friendly but don’t expect a beer passion. They were actively brewing which was nice, although it didn’t allow me to ask some questions to the brewer. Overall a very French brewpub: just make the 4 standard beers, call it local/family/traditional and people will drop by. A shame because the beautiful setup (must be at least 2500 liters) is screaming for more.“
