Very busy and very friendly with 4 ales on offer across gravity casks with cider and some bottles available too. We chose Lacons Affinity and Brakspear Jericho Pale Ale both in good condition. In the shadow of the large GK monstrosity the Bird in Hand, the Old Transporter sits in a shop front next to the local Tandoori. Bare bones and holding 25 at a pinch, you’ll find four local real ales on gravity plus some respectable but ubiquitous bottles. Proper cider always available as well. The hours can be extended on occasion, but before you make a special trip out check the very informative website or Facebook page to make sure they’re open (they hold the occasional private function).“ |
