42 /100 Red Lion (Bar) 47 HIGH STREET. Locals’ pub in the heart of the village. Old-fashioned boozer with a reasonably sized lounge and a smaller public dominated by sport on a large TV. While I’m glad places like this exist, it isn’t really my cup of tea. Two cask ales (Marston’s Burton Ale and Pedigree) plus a few macro kegs and bottles. Pickled Pig cider so that’s something, and there are some slight oddities so you could even bag yourself
a tick. And the pumpclips on the wall suggest that other cask ales have at one time been available. Still it isn’t a beer pub. Not sure why this was added but as it is already here, I’ll rate it. |
62 /100 Lazy Otter (Bar) CAMBRIDGE ROAD Nice pub/restaurant which is a fair bit out of the village of Stretham (you wouldn’t wanna walk it). It is tied to other business (a moorings and holiday park) but the pub has a fairly local atmosphere. Four real ales on tap, plus a surprising amount of ciders. They do occasional beer festivals. Very reasonable prices for the area. |
