“This pub in a non-traditional building right up against the Bridgewater Canal as it passes through the Cheshire countryside with fields on either side of the aforementioned. There’s moorings here but it’s mainly the car park that fills up with those seeking to eat here which seems to be the main reason to come. Most of the modern tables have cutlery already set out, but the rotund central serving area includes 7 hand pumps that include a permanent selection from Thwaites brewery alongside rotating guest ales. You can also sit here on stools for a more authentic pub experience as most of the furniture, fixtures and fittings don’t adhere to traditional pub style, that said it still remains a comfortable welcoming place to visit. At the side of the building is an attractive outdoor patio area followed by a row of wooden picnic tables along the canal bank. These are exclusively the domain on the pubs as the towpath is on the opposite side of the canal. The only other odd feature is that this is the end unit of several industrious businesses and there’s a car mechanic workshop next door which feels strange given the very green and countrified area for miles around this building.“

“Small Hydes pub in the Cheshire countryside offering food and drinks in a pleasant setting to the east of Lymm. It’s not quite as convivial as some of the other pubs in the area in what is one of the most affluent areas in the region, however as it’s a brewery pub you’re assured of finding Hydes ales here and there’s not too many places in this county that applies to. If you are here for food and the weather is good there’s a purposely laid out patio area at the rear right next to the car park and it’s a nice place to enjoy the outdoors. It’s right next to a large farmers field that’s not accessible, but there’s also a small grassy area that can be used by children at the end of the parking area. I was served by one of the regulars as the barman was away for a long time after I arrived at the bar and we had a pleasant joke about this experience!!!“
